Speak on it!!! As a law student, I felt pressured to pursue Criminal Law. That was a hard no for me. I want to focus on creating opportunities for our people so that we avoid being involved in the system to begin with. Pursuing Corporate/Business Law will allow me to have a seat at the table, hold corporations accountable for their missteps, and funnel their “donations” to particular programs/needs in our communities.
I’m definitely enjoying this series. It’s very relatable to many different career paths etc…you’re doing an amazing job and I’m proud of you 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
I felt this when you spoke about being the only black woman in your firm. Not a lawyer, I am in currently in tech and I am currently going thru the same thing. Heavy on the imposter syndrome too 😂

Girl. It’s a struggle. I work for a tech company too and I was the only black person on our team until recently. Imposter syndrome is very REAL 😩

I can totally relate to being the only black attorney in your firm. Prior to embarking on my own entrepreneurship journey, I worked at a law firm and although I was not the only black person there - it was only 2 of us black females - I was the only black associate attorney. And I did have times where I felt out of place and frustrated because the partners were older and were stuck in the traditional law model.
That’s why I left and started my own firm and I’m now on a mission to helping influencers and content creators with legacy planning. Because it’s one thing to be out here making coins but because the influencer marketing industry is so new, it definitely presents challenges when it comes to being able to protect the intellectual property as well as the coins and digital assets. Great video!
Great points! I love the part you talked about being a ‘black’ female lawyer the most. It was really encouraging. I did a Masters in English and I was the only black female in my program. It was a great program tho! In my current job, there is not much diversity. And I have to think about my hairstyles too haha. Anyway, imposter syndrome is real. But I love what your doing on your platform. Keep going sis! 💛🤗
