I make over $100,000. That’s not that much in this economy. Financial freedom comes in diversifying your income. Which I wasn’t born into a family that taught or even understood that. So excuse me for being human. And keep in mind “freedom” looks different for everyone. Also, I’ve had family with medical expenses I’ve helped with and so much more. Plus MANY lawyers aren’t making as much as society portrays. Let’s not shout because someone has a degree they should be living like xyz. Context is everything.

Financial literacy is so taboo in so many societies, and I really thinks it needs to be taught in schools as early as possible. The old way of saying save, save, save without context and the right strategies to achieve stability, no longer cuts it.

Wow! A lot to unpack here! For one, You have opened my eyes to how impactful it can be to have a therapist and I thank you for consistently talking about your experience in therapy. I will be trying Betterhelp because you speak so highly on the platform and I wouldn't even know where to begin with finding a therapist otherwise.
Also, it's interesting to hear your perspective on being a coach. I can definitely understand why even though there is a lot of money in coaching why you just aren't interested. I am still kind of in the coaching space but I have made a major pivot to one-to-many vs 1:1. It feels like a lot of hand-holding with coaching and that can be exhausting.

What’s crazy is …. I had a feeling you’d quit or quickly realize it was not for you because more opportunities would come up in NYC. Idk why I had this feeling but I strongly resonate with you because some of us just can’t be boxed into these job roles and responsibilities.
Wait, she quit? I haven't watched the full video yet, but I will say it's not shocking. I think once you are in a creative space, doing your own thing, it's difficult to get acclimated to a 9-5 job (even if it's part-time). Kameron is a true entrepreneur and will thrive.

Sooooo, it's not just me that I feel like this year has been trying to take me out, even though I'm determined to make this my best year yet. 2024 needs to get it together because this is not how I thought these first two months were support to go. lol Thank you for those topics. I don't have a therapist yet, but when I do I will refer back to this video. A few of the ones you mentioned, I'm going to use as journal prompts. I enjoy watching topic based videos. I feel like I can learn from them or get inspired by what the person talking about. Your makeup came out so cute. It's giving natural beauty!! If I could rate my life right now I would say a 7. I've made a lot of positive changes and I'm noticing that things are starting to fall into place because of it, but I'm not exactly where I would like to be yet.

Release the stress of knowing everything and instead apply your wisdom and gifts to continue leveling up. You’ve done the hard parts (college, law school, jobs, business, a growing UA-cam channel many envy and a huge love to NYC!).
Your early 30s are a tough transition but you’re at the top and can only go higher. Your late 30s will be even better if you enjoy your early 30s, course correct but don’t stress yourself so hard about any of it. Your gifts will continue to make room for you.

Moving to Chicago was a drastic change for me, but now that it's been a while, and doing a lot of reflection, I'm in my mid-30s, struggling financially, and ready to take on a more freelance/entrepreneur lifestyle cus I'm tired of not hearing from jobs or getting laid off when I finally got comfortable.

I recently applied for a LLC and was caught off guard with the required alt name which I wasn’t prepared for but went with my scrapped original name and both were rejected due to being too similar to another business. Now I’m back at the drawing board because everything flowed together from the name to logo, thank you notes and business cards. I think if the name “The Legal Tea” means a bit more to you consider weighing the option to fight for it 🤷🏾♀️. I’m freshly 34 and am currently working on healing myself starting with my inner child.. The trademark thing happened to me and it was painful and a very hard lesson learned. I felt so silly as a lawyer myself but oh well. I decided to let it go but I wouldn’t continue to use a name someone else has trademarked.

Love what you said about your millions being on the way : ) I'm a financial advisor (work with creators, live in NYC) and I work with people who make that big income jump. I've seen what you talked about -- need to enjoy spending money once you have it for awhile, then really wanting to enjoy life while still turning it into wealth -- many times. Lots of wisdom there! It is a whole thing to be a managing $500k, $1M in income vs. $100k. Happy for you that you are on this journey!

This year was so weird so far. January took forever. December I had no business come in at all so I'm still catching up from the lack of cash flow for my business. Then a goat went down and I thought I was gonna lose it but I spent every day for 3 weeks giving him shots and meds and he's doing fine now. Then a nephew commit suicide 5 days after he turned 23 and this is all just in January. February has been a rush to get back on track but I'm feeling really worn. Looking forward to a more fulfilling March :/
My life isn’t over yet! Thank you for sharing your story and being transparent. While I have not had the exact same life experiences, I feel you on so many levels. I’m 42 and have my first 6 figure job, which required me to change careers. However, the money is and has always been a challenge for me. I want to make 2024 better than previous years and it’s happening slowly but surely.
I would like to share two financial resources if you are not already familiar with them: Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche (Live Richer Academy) and Ramit Sethi (I will teach you to be rich). Not have UA-cam channels and books you can check out. One thing I like about their approach to money and budget is to not really budget but to have a spending plan for how to allocate your money when you get it. Budgeting doesn’t work for me, however, I will be using these methods to have a spending plan going forward.

When it comes to finances, some people benefit from having a spending plan vs a budget. It's a way for you to direct your money vs restrict it. So instead of saying it's not in the budget, you're saying it's not in the plan. It's a different mindset and view when it comes to money management.
