You'd be surprised! As long as you hold them until the glue has roughly set, and use a base the glue will seep into rather than peel off of, they are pretty sturdy. I have a half dozen pieces made with similar decorations and they've held up for years and multiple wears (hell, one got sat on by accident and still looks the same).
