Your DIY is by far the best one out there. I have watch countless DIY for these crowns and they dont compare to this one! I will be making one for sure .
My baby cousin turns one in a couple of weeks and her party is going to be mermaid themed and I am going to make as much of these as I can for all the guests! Thank you for sharing, the crown is beautiful
You did a gorgeous job with this. I do the Mermaid Parade every year and I am inspired to create my own headdress because of this video, thanks so much!!
Thank you for this...styrofoam seems to be the answer I was looking for! I had been planning to make a crown like this but wondered how to give it height!
I literally went to the mall today with my mom and I saw giant styrofoam balls like the ones you used! I'm going to try and make this. I am luckily a hoarder and I have a huge collection of seashells. YASSS I will try my best to make it!
I freaking love it!! We don't xelebreate halloween as that much, but we celebrate carnival (one of the most important partys here) so i'm going to make a mermaid costume for the next february and march😝😝😍😍
I would paint it put some very small light pearls/ iridescent beads or glitter there so it wouldn't add too much weight. I wouldn't add anything too heavy
hello, awesome tutorial :D i have a question, doesnt it get to heavy?? like is it supported that it will stay on your head. because i want to make one for Halloween (i know, 2 months away :p ) i'm sorta worried that it will become too heavy. got any tips when it comes to the weight :p ... thank you :)
I was thinking of adding ribbon to the head band before attaching the Styrofoam. Just leaving the ribbon long enough on both ends to tie it. Hopefully, that would give it enough support to not move around.
Hello there! Firstly, I love what you did there, you really have talent and also you inspired me!!!!!! Secondly, do you know where could I find styrofoam? I mean, what kind of stores sell styrofoam? I have no idea :c
Me parece una idea interesante, pero me preocupa la comodidad de la diadema a la hora de usarla. I think it is an interesting idea, but I´m worry about the comfort of the headset when using it.
*wears this to an 8 am college course because fuck it I'm a mermaid*

yaaaassss Gawd and be like "move bitch before I slap you with my non existent fish tail heffer"
Hah I wore a huge pink sparkly plastic crown to a school meeting

+Kassi Grover ik there's one in Brooklyn new York
What about the back? It would be just plain styrofoam
i was thinking the same
courtney overton I was thinking about that. Gonna make one for Halloween and just. Spray paint the foam black maybe?
You can always put more shells on the back
i painted my crown before adding anything so its purple all around the back w glitter
courtney overton you could always add more shells
Was hoping you'd wear it so I could see how it looks on the real head ...
Thank you for this...styrofoam seems to be the answer I was looking for! I had been planning to make a crown like this but wondered how to give it height!
Thank you for making this so simple and straight to the point 🙏

what do you do with the back of the crown?
I'm going to assume to put shells amd pearls there too
make your hair real big in the back to cover it :D
I would paint it put some very small light pearls/ iridescent beads or glitter there so it wouldn't add too much weight. I wouldn't add anything too heavy

also you can glue hair clips to the underside of the headband to clip it into your hair. I'm a gogo dancer and thats how I made mine work.
Beautiful. I love this!

Hello there! Firstly, I love what you did there, you really have talent and also you inspired me!!!!!! Secondly, do you know where could I find styrofoam? I mean, what kind of stores sell styrofoam? I have no idea :c
Just go to a craft store like Michaels or joann's. Even walmart might have it.

Thank you so much Mer’lady for your help

Hi! I am making some crowns for my daughter's ballet. How do you suggest hiding the Styrofoam on the back of the crown?
It looks beautiful from the front but what about the back? Thise white polystyrene pieces must look awful. Do you disguise them?
