I'm a very crafty person myself so the mask will be easy enough. The Wide bottomed Marie Antoinette style Rococo dress will take time detailing but I think I can figure it out. It was the headpiece that was puzzling me. I want to go big like they do on the crazier Kentucky Derby hats. This video really helpful and inspiring. I'm so glad I found you.

I generally use a mombo-combo of super stiff fabrics. While working, I think of the stiff fabrics as building or sculpting materials. Lots of hand stitching involved. Base building is a very invloved process, maybe someday, I'll start an online base-building course. :)
Do you have recommendations for where to buy the metal embellishments you add? I’ve shopped all my local craft and jewelry stores but they never have quite the right stuff.

Do you use foam core or cardboard for the base that's covered with appliques?
