Four years after this posting and sadly the REV-9 that's reviewed here still remains the only one that's ever come to market. That is, the only one vaguely of its kind that could be categorized as a collectible figure or display piece in this general scale range. Hot Toys pieces are 1/6, NECA figures are at 1/10 and this Japan-only limited promotional item stands between them at 1/8 approximately. I paid around $150 roughly in 2018 for one of them, I don't know what they're going for now (or if they're sold-out, can be found on the secondary market, etc.). I can accept that it's "better than nothing" sure, despite it's a statue without articulation, the awkward scale that doesn't really fit with anything else, and it's too expensive for what it is and how it's made. The real disappointment is several years on since DARK FATE was released and STILL no releases have appeared in the popular collector's scales of 1/6 or 1/10, nor even 1/4 or 1/12, not by any of the major or minor companies one would typically see handle a franchise character such as this one. Regardless of the politics or decision-making behind the scenes, plenty of film/ entertainment properties that have either financially under-performed or received negative feedback (warranted or not) have still seen a healthy reply from the collector's market with (at least) a 'series' of figures/ characters (or a few-to-several more series' releases for the big success films). ThreeZero and NECA both made a T-800 'Carl' and a Sarah Connor (1/12 and 1/10 respectively). That's cool, but that's it? Two characters? Setting aside whatever contractual or legal hurdles may or may not have influenced anything - it's a no-brainer how a 'full' DARK FATE figure series could have looked, should have looked, and that would have included a REV-9 Endoskeleton... in spirit with/ a continuation of the wealth of Terminator franchise Endoskeletons, all the varieties, in multiple scales, released by many companies over time. That there is still dead silence on this one is frustrating, and hard to imagine a legitimate reason this has remained such an impossibility. (*apologies for the length but thought about this a lot)
After years of wanting this statue ,I finally found a decent 1/6 rev 9 on eBay with movable joints, shoulders, elbows, hips feet and wrists with a very good head sculpture with light up optic tubes .it was the3D printed and I had to paint it but it pretty amazing to have with my 1/6 terminator collection
Def not 1/6 scale comparing to hot toys this is closer to 1/8 scale but its about like the only piece ever made of a rev 9 so that more than makes up for it lol
