I don't want to cut my railing off for this project Now i know how to pour concrete on the inside of the stairs its nice to have friends to help You i ONLY HAVE MY TEENAGE BOYS Which one of them help me power wash the stairs to remove old paint...Good job well done i will follow this video for a guide to help me.
The concrete sealant top coat gave it a nice finish. I'm gearing up to re-do my 1890 front steps which are the original, awful red/brown color they used back then. Still undecided if I try to dye the concrete resurfacer to keep the original look, or just do grey. Thanks for the tutorial, very helpful.
Nice...I use 2 sand, 1 cement, then after addressing cracks properly. I'll spray a polymer based primer..creates a mechanical bond. Also big on tinting my mix. On my edges I'll use another trowel to act as a straight edge, then after brooming I'll use a 2" margin trowel to frame out the slabs. Nice job...I enjoy doing overlays and epoxy. I find the whole process therapeutic.
Thanks that’s really helpful. I’d have kept the original rails because they looked simple and well made and not so fussy as the wire rails. But that’s a personal taste and cost assessment. But your video had shown me exactly how to do my old steps. Cheers🥂
Seems like everything I’m trying to do, you have a video for it! 👍 Great work in all your videos and thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge!
Nice work. The die/stain was a good choice. i assume that it was cold and no sun, as that stuff dries crazy fast, allowing like 5 min in 85F day. 50F in the shade makes a big difference.
You never stop amazing me with your choices of great projects! I love my power washer too; great on the house and car and concrete walkways. Did you manage to retain any of the materials from the back porch to do that railing or must we wait for the full presentation? :) You guys are a great team; I could see a company forming "Thron Brothers House Miracles" or something. Thank you for a great show.
Appreciate it, Patrick! Thanks for watching - as usual! This was a actually a different system/order from the back deck, but I should have that video out soon! And maybe one day on the company haha I just need to convince my brother to drop out of PA school (kidding). Thanks again for watching and for the continued support. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!
I don't have any cracks or texture issues with my 12 by 12 concrete patio, it is just dirty. It has stains on it. I do not want to mess with a power washer because it's a pain in the butt and I don't want to use concrete paint because it will eventually paint and I'm lazy and don't want to do the prep work. It seems like there is no prep work for this over than lightly misting the existing concrete. Is this an ok idea to use this to just get rid of stains and make the concrete look refreshed and new again? I would think think it would be thick enough so that the stains would not be seen through it? I don't want prep work and this seems like a way to get away with not prepping anything. Thoughts? Your project looks fantastic!
Hey Boss, quick question, did you use one box of the Newcrete on your step? Also, I’m in the works of making a shed using your course. Can’t wait for the process

Hey man, I just subscribed to you and your stuff is awesome! I’m only 21 and trying to get into some house flipping and renovations and was wondering if you’d have time to talk over the phone for some guidance on where to start?
Exactly. He’s doing a video to teach people how to do this and he’s never done it before. That was his first time. And it showed. 😂 not even close to being a good job. My daughter could have done better. And I’m not even kidding you. And she’s 6. So that alone should tell you something!!!!!!!
I guess the pint is to show what a first timer would go thru doing it then. I’m sure most ppl watching the video are watching something like this to see if they themself can tackle the feat of redoing a porch on their own. Sort of a “if he can do it, I can do it” thing… maybe
No reflection on Andrew's part; it turned out about as good as could be expected (hardly worth the effort). Still an excellent video proving that you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear. It saved me from buying this stuff and doing the same.
The only problem with self levelling concrete, is garage floors should be sloped. This will help prevent standing or pooling water, that could contain road salt (in the winter) that will damage the floor over time.

I’m not a concrete worker but your tutorials will help me do my own small projects at home. Thank you! And a thumb 👍🏼 up for this video.
Looks good! That brushing texture adds a bit of non-slip surface too, not just asthetics. Nice job!👍
I believe l can do this on my porch! 🤞🏾Thank you! Contractors are so expensive.
Good luck!

Looks great. The only thing I would have changed would be sealing any cracks in the concrete, for instance the sides.
I agree.Seal the cracks with Cement All first.
Why you would change sealing... is it not good for concrete?
Very good !'m going to do it!
Nice work! Big difference. I like the railing to0.
Thanks!
Any info on this railing/ cable brand
Excellent job both on the video and the work. Thank you so much!

@@AndrewThronImprovements Thanks for this video Andrew. Will this product adhere to concrete that has been painted or will I have to remove the paint?
Yes that right us it when it's thick 😊
Andrew, there are large channels on UA-cam, that do nothing but pressure wash jobs!
So I guess it’s not just me who’s a big power washing fan lol thanks for watching Thomas!
I have metal rails that broke and broke the edges of concrete can the concrete be cut then poured to reform the broken parts
This was awesome
That is one tiny leaf blower😂 looks good though thank you!
Wished that you’ve also showed the installation of the metal rails.
Separate video on my channel!

Do you know if this product can withstand Canadien winters and all the shoveling?
Being a thin layer, has it crack easily? Any update over time
I second this question.
well made video! thank you
Great job handsome

hey kev i noticed you're eagles picture, are you from philly? I am too! I was wondering if you new anyone local that could paint my porch!
If you live somewhere that has freezing temperatures that stuff will chip/pop off especially if you use rock salt
Is that certain? Would a thicker layer help?

Please what kind of additive did you used to mix the mortar?
You can use a brick or block brush and paint it on, not much mess!
I bet the sealant will extend the life greatly.
I cant believe people think this looks good. Does it look better ? Yes! Does it look good with professional results? IMO, No!

Don’t be a hater
I've wanted to do this on exposed aggregate as it's so aggressive on bare feet. I wonder if you can buy this in Australia?
You should of applied that bonding agent first then the Crete
If I have small "potholes" in my concrete deck should I use regular concrete mix to fill those first?
Rapid set Cement al[ or Mortar mix or Quikrete concrete patch
nice.
but i have a question.
how does it beahve with the thawing and expansion due to heat and cold weather ?
Won’t last 2 years .
So far so good after 1 winter. Fingers crossed 🤞
should have used a thicker mix, fixing the edges would have been better also,
I agree
How can you fix the edges? Is there a concrete filler? Like people use on cars?
To fix the edge usu a dardy as straight edge a run the edger
@@SanDiego_VDubLifegrinder, or use patching compound before the new Crete if you’re talking about adding rather than removing material
Do you have a link for the railing you used?
It’s the Muzata black cool system!
would this method work on a concrete driveway?
I use fish grease as the primer
Quick question…if the concrete is painted…can u still do this or do u need to strip away the paint first??….🤔
Surface needs to be clean and bare concrete.
Do you have a link for the railing?
Great way to spruce up crumbling concrete that needs replacing...looks good long enough to sell your house, lol.
How does this product compare to TF Structural for resurfacing steps?
can i do this over painted concrete?
Seems like you did need to wait a day after washing to let it dry if you are just going to wet it again...
*didn't need. I agree, misting with that spray bottle likely did not to help.

power washing my mom's tennis court is nirvana
It must be nice to replace railings, i paint them
If you had liked your old railings, could you have kept them?
Absolutely!
Is this okay to use for a 1-2 squares of concrete sidewalk? I have some bad areas on top but overall strong sturdy squares.
Yes
could just paint instead?
It’s the same dull appearance, slightly fresher maybe.
Thank you for sharing! Is the process the same for a concrete driveway?
Would you recommend this stuff for a larger application like resurfacing a garage floor?
Probably want self-leveling concrete for that
The only problem with self levelling concrete, is garage floors should be sloped. This will help prevent standing or pooling water, that could contain road salt (in the winter) that will damage the floor over time.
@@robpearson9526 didnt know that, thank you!
Why not just paint
How would you fill the cracks on the side?
I would use “cement all” to patch it up before putting the newcrete on
How long did you wait after it started to dry before you applied the sealer?
I think I waited around 24 hours!
@@AndrewThronImprovements thanks
@@AndrewThronImprovementsI recon you must wait longer for concrete to be fully cured before applying a sealant...
where did you get that bag of stuff from???
That bag comes in the Newcrete Box!
can power wash remove paint?
It definitely can if you have the setting too high or if the spray nozzle is too close to the surface you are washing
Ohmmmm
