- Red dot sight instillation! No more milled slides!! I, for one, am not a fan of someone cutting into one of my weapons just to put a red dot on it. Now, with this system you don't have to! Simply remove the rear sight and install the dovetail mount! Super easy to do. Stick around and find out how!

I installed one on my G19 but hated the non uniform look. I wanted my red dot more forward with room for rear sites. It's a cool little convenient mount.
Strike Industries, Scorpion Universal Reflex Mount for GLOCK Version 2 (G-SURF) is what I installed. I put a Gowutar A17 2 MOA Green dot. Very solid mount and includes an ambidextrous charging handle. Placed a suppressor height night site to co-witness with the rear sites built in thto the Green dot site.
Just installed it on my Glock 27 with the Holosun ...easy install no issues thus far..
This is what I needed to know. I have a 27 and wanted to hear a review... Which Holosun did you mount?
Easiest way to sight in the red dot ?
Will it work for glock19
@@Moresco24 start out shining a loght through the barrel at the wall and sight it to the light first
thank you for your valuable time and knowledge you offer to us newbies thanks for time
Loved the video very detailed. It’s my 1st time for a red dot on a pistol.
Unbeatable value for the price and performance!
I've got the glock 20 in burnt bronze battle worn finish its beautiful and I don't want it milled I'm going to check it out thank you just got a new sub
Thanks for sharing this video I just added the DPP Titanium glock plate and Holosun 407K green dot to my CCW I'm in love can't wait to take it to the range. Also used a Bore sighter from Amazon to zero my green dot. I saved so much money not having to send my slide off.
Great video man really appreciate your instillation and succinctness.
I'm glad I came across your video. Since I know the future I know you walked away from this setup because of issues that you were having.
Until the other day when I was on Amazon I had no idea this was even an option to get. I was just going to buy a new slide not having my original One touch.
I know you might not get this since it was 2 years ago since this video. I will say I enjoyed it and I hit the subscribe button looking forward to watching more from you.
@davidfrank2824 I actually dropped this brand and got a similar product with much better specs. Check out my channel. I even did an extreme test on it. The product is Dove Mount. If you watch the videos, I have a discount code as well!!
Jeff, when I installed my "DPP Titanium" plate (aluminum version) on my new G3c, I saw the advice about filing down the bottom of the dovetail. Then I pushed the dovetail into the slide a little bit, then looked at a light on the other side of the slide, to see the 'fit' of the dovetail.
The bottom of the plate dovetail was over 1 mm away from the floor of slide cut. No need for the file job. So I didn't file the bottom at all (Is the G3c really Glock sight compatible?), but took some of the black coating off the sharp edges of dovetail. When it would go in about 1/3 into the slot, I used a plastic hammer to finish centering it up. It looks great. Did a crude zero with a Laser practice bullet. Will fine tune the POA=POI at the range next week.
Since the G3c has the slide sight cut closer to the rear-end of the slide, the Glock DDP over-hangs in the back. Not a lot, just enough to see it's the wrong plate.. :) The one I needed was out-of-stock. I might get a Glock someday when they become legal in Massachusetts. Maybe in a few more years..
Come to Texas
I’d only use one of these that have the rear back up sight built into it. But I’m just building a new upper that comes milled if I want to add an optic. Good excuse to build another gun lol.
very nice and simple video, thank you so much.
I'm glad you enjoyed!!
Nice job looks awesome !
Would that plate work on a cyelee ct2 2moa red dot , also what loctite u used?
Very cool I love to have options does this work on SW shield +. I got my gun without the cuts and SW does sell the slides by themselves
I wanted rmr cut but nothing optic ready in Commiefornia so I got a Glock 19 gen 3 and I thought about getting a dovetail mount but instead I got a PSA dagger rmr slide. I think I'll eventually get the OEM slide milled but the dagger slide is good so far. I just didn't like not having backup iron sights with this mount
You made the right choice. Dovetail mounts are so bad
You made the right choice ! The dagger slides are so cheap and they just work. Just added a HS 507c to mine. Now I need to build a Glock 32. Wish PSA would make a .40 S&W Dagger slide 😩!
I agree. The dove tails are good for some people. But imo there to high up and just not as good. So I'm getting my 19 slide milled for the holosun scs. You can keep your oem sights if you want to as well. And the scs optic fits so good on the 19 and with the slide milled. Optics fit even better and lower. Since no plate is used.
I love it! Thx for vid
Just saved me a few hundred bucks... cheers!
Gonna order one in the morning for my Glock 48 ….. thank you
Nice Video! Thanks...
What range do you zero, Jeff? 25 yards? 10 yards? Just curious.
Any suggestions for a setup for glock 19 gen 3 with red dot sight ? If I have to buy another slide that’s fine
is there on of these for p07? it has a similar dove tail cut in the rear.
Will this be compatible with a Glock 17 gen 4 Co2 BB non airsoft pistol?
AMAZING
Very informative, thank you so much.
One question if I may, how did you make sure it is squared with the gun/slide ?
Eyeball
Thanks for the question! I used a measuring tool (a Caliper) for fine adjustments. I also make bullets and I use it for that application and it came in handy great to make sure it was the same gap/overlap on each side.
@@jeffofalltrades8489 I see, thank you so much. I considerig going the same with my glock 19
They have sight install or remove tool for Glock slides. Would it work for the base install? Hammering just don't seem right. Just saying.
This probably will work on a 43x with a little more over hang on the slide ....right?
Any idea which one will fit a a regular Hellcat?
Any advice for a sig p320.. I need a plate with the DPP platform
Great video! Do you think it can with stand the power of 45acp and 10mm? Would like to get one but afraid that mount will come out in time since the added weight that the beavertail need to support
don't get this one!!! I found a much better product. Check my videos!!! It's the Dove Dot from Dovemounts and I have a code for 10% off!!! Also, I did a full torture test on it@
It depends on what possible use the glock or other gun is intended for if this is a adequate method for installation.
For casual rolling of tin cans etc., what the creator has shown is good.
If it is for self defense from 2 or 4-legged predators co-witness is essential. Gabe Suarez is the one that pioneered this technique for american civilians and police. He is very clear about the importance of backup sights. one for if the optic fails and two it allows one to find the dot quickly. A minor third point is that one wants the optic as low as possible. I just picked up a used oem glock slide milled out for an EPS holosun red dot and optic is mounted low; so low that the factor oem plastic sights allow co-witness. Makes a better profile for CCW.
There a downside to optics and that is at night at close distances. Then other means have to be used for alignment of the pistol with the target.
Hello Jeff , I have a Glock gen 4 model 23 40 cal , my question is how sturdy is this DPP after you shooting several rounds of ammo at the range has anyone had a problem with it coming lose? I’m debating on getting the DPP or having it milled witch I’m not to fond of cutting into the slide thank you.
I wouldn't worry about the plate coming loose it is very tight fitting plus once you torque the screw down with the locktite it's almost impossible to get it to move without beating it a lose with a mallet/ hammer.
Will it fit in my Glock 22 gen3 .40?
Good work Jeff why only Clock how about sig.sauer or Springfield 357sig Thanks like your work.
I appreciate your support! but please, check my other video on the DoveMount ... its a much better system and I did a full torture test on it which held up better than most full guns do!!! I also have a discount code for the dove dot system ... let me know what you think!
do you still like the DPP mount?
will this fit on my stoeger str9?
Is there a link to order mounting plate and sight?
Can anyone offer any insight on long term durability of dpp plate?...does it move at all after x amount of rounds, etc.?
Probably
does this type of mount hold zero? lets say 500 rounds later?..
Why is the video flipped horizontally? This isn't a reupload right?
How has it held up at the range?
Holds great and holds zero nicely!
Jeff, you used Lock Tight "Red", the Blue would be the right choice, Red is forever.
He used Blue.
Locktite thinks it's funny to use a red bottle for Blue Locktite and a blue bottle for Red Locktite.
Accidentally ended up with one of these plates. Long story lol. Haven’t installed it on anything yet. I have a Glock 19 with the MOS slide and so far that is the only pistol optic I have. However I do like it so I may give the plate a try on one of my other Glocks as none of the others have a milled slide.
I wanna do this with my Canik tp9 sa Will it fit
do you have a red dot for c9 pistol defense system 9mm?
What's the link?
How do I do this for my Glock 19 GEN three will it fit
You'll have to check the specs when buying to make sure you're getting the correct one. I do believe it's the same as the 17!
I may be mistaken but isn't RED Loctite HT 400??
It is the red bottle but no, it's blue locktite. Red would be WAY overkill for this.
I was naive too to believe that this would work okay, even though red dot is sitting very high. I had the same plate, I put it on my Glock 19 and just like you I had a Vortex Venom but this configuration just can’t hold zero. Don’t waste your time and money.
What about if you change the front sight? Because now it’s lower in base of the rear sight
This product is not the one...check out my Dovemount video! It has everything you're looking for!
Titanium ? Dove site says 17-4 SS? Are there different material choices ?
Yes aluminum and titanium on Amazon
How come none of the screws fit the mount
Suggestions? Oil slot on your slide before installing. Take apart slide and install dove tail by itself, then put back together.
Does oil help Blue Loctite? The dovetail on this type of plate (DPP Titanium) isn't a separate part. The plate and the dovetail are one piece.
for CZP10C please
Update on range use?
It holds up great! 500 rounds and no issues, it sighted great
How about a sd9 2.0
I'm all about saving money where I can but i can't lose my rear sight for a push in plate in my EDC. Electronics do fail and they WILL fail when you need them most, that's why I need to keep my rear sight. If it was for a range toy I would absolutely use it and may grab one for my ol G22 for the range. Thanks for the vid.
Will it work on g22 nonmos .40
Yes it will!
Can you please give me a link to this or direct me to it please.
Unfortunately I did but youtube strikes my account. Just search on Amazon for DPP!
@@jeffofalltrades8489 found it,thanks
Can't use backup iron sights incase red dot were to fail? smh
Check out my newest sponsor who solves ALL the problems with this product ... its called the Dove dot. It's one of my most recent videos. It's just what you need!
Do you have the link for it ?
Look at my first comment on this video
That sits very high. How’s your accuracy with it?
Stay tuned ... I have found an option that is second to none.
@@jeffofalltrades8489 I bought the Glock 19 non MOS and want a red dot but don’t know what to do
@@Westpine29 Send me a message for more details! I have the perfect fit for you, but I haven't made a video on it yet. It is better than the DPP that I reviewed over a year ago. Things evolve and change, and the new product I found is just what you need!
I thought if you use red lock tight you need to use heat to help remove them lol
all versions of loctite come in a red tube but the loctite inside can be different. 242 is blue for instance but comes in a red tube. also green loctite cant rememher the number of it but is used to loctite screws already assembled. by wicking action.
By doing this process you can’t use the regular sites to co-witness with the red dot. That’s why it’s better to have the slide milled
If you have a well-made red dot you won’t need to code witness. Worst case scenario. He just need a suppressor height front sight.
Does this method work for gen 5s ?
Yes it does!
Dove is sold out of the night sight version. 😪
How much, and where do we purchase
Only $37.00 USD !!! Buy it from Amazon here! www.amazon.com/dp/B07MZSGLLQ?maas=maas_adg_A193D0211006A774B91AE743C0A7BCF1_afap_abs&ref_=aa_maas&tag=maas&ref=myi_title_dp
@@jeffofalltrades8489 thank man
Do you aline the dot with your front sight ?? I’m having trouble getting mine to zero
I used a bore sight
I put one on a Taurus g3c. After about 200 rounds. The dove tail on the mount sheered off and the red dot flew off and smacked me in the head. I wouldn't trust these on a defensive pew pew
I'm sorry to hear that! Was it this brand?
It's T6 aluminum... easier to machine than steel I guess, so steel would be more expensive.
So, do you recommend milling for the red dot as opposed to the plate? I would like to retain irons as a back up for peace of mind. Yet, I see the benefits of a red dot. Any suggestions for both? Is co-witnessing something to be prefered?
Will this damage slide?
If you do it wrong
You’re hands look reeeeeeal soft
You misspelled installation.
It’s spelled “installation”.
Great idea..but it looks horrible. Just pay to have it milled out to you RDS.
These plates have revolutionized the red dot market. No more paying an arm and leg to get your slide milled. I put one on my Canik and it works great. You might not like the look and that's your opinion.
Doesn't look as good but you save money. If you don't mind spending the extra money for your gun to look better than yes of course get it milled or buy a different optics ready gun..
No thanks, I'll keep this on!
@@kansasgardener5844
Yep, and if you don't get a pistol from the factory with a milled slide I wouldn't ever send the original off to be milled for a specific red dot. In 20 years they may not even make that model anymore so you have ruined your gun and slide. Using this method everything is universal and can be removed or changed as necessary. I also don't believe in sending off prized favorite guns and knives you have sentimental attachments to for custom work or holsters/sheaths etc etc. The last time I did that I had to chase the guy down for over 5 months to get my very rare limited production Cold Steel Trail Master San Mai III back which he had possession of the entire time while I endlessly waited. He was supposed to make a custom leather chest rig for it and me. Um yeah dude....just give me my knife back already, it is the day that never comes at this point! I finally got him to have his wife meet me to return it in a parking lot. I presumed this was to avoid confrontation and me being furious. NEVER AGAIN!!
@@jeffofalltrades8489
Once that original slide with matching serial number is sent off and cut you have committed to permanently altering that firearm forever. You accept any errors/out of spec work, damage that might occur. That is if it isn't lost in shipment or stolen. Nope!!
I will always buy optic ready or include the milling cost in the price of the gun in my head when I buy it. CH Precision has always done me right, if you want a co-witness with your stock sights stay away from these Dovetail mounts. They sit too high.
Nobody asked this is for people who don't have optic ready
They sell co-witness dovetail mounts.
Good afternoon, how are you.
my name is Michel, I am a sports shooter and I would like to know if you can send me these dot sights. shipping is to Brazil, I await your return.
thank you so much.
Go get your slide milled or buy an optics ready version… 🤦🏻♂️
Ugh I know... what was I thinking...
DPP is not king. Dove Mounts is 👑
That thing is a monstrosity!
How do you mean?
Milled is best, period! This looks silly, puts the dot up too high and you have no back up sights.
Anything like this for the HK45 Tactical V1 Full Size .45 ACP?
