I saw them on the El Loco tour in 1981 in Jackson MS. Grand Funk opened for them. I remember thinking the same thing, that was a LOT of sound coming from 3 guys. Great great concert! ✌️
I saw ZZ Top in Hawaii when I was in the navy. ZZ Top is the only band I've ever seen that plays better live than they do on their records. The whole place is just charged with their energy.
They did a great longer version of La Grange live on the Howard Stern Show. Billy Gibbons also did a good version with Slash & others at a birthday party for Slash.
I'm a life-long metal guy but the "Little Old Band from Texas" is the coolest three guys to ever step on stage. Ever. I once got a chance to smoke with Dusty and Frank at an "undisclosed location" (Nashville) and they were every bit as friendly as you'd hope. R.I.P. Dusty.
It was a real Place called "The Chicken Ranch". There was a movie about the place called "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas". IIRC - Burt Reynolds & Dolly Pardon starred in it.
I had the chance to see ZZ Top in 1982 and it was an outstanding concert! I love all of there albums but to see them live was a complete different level!
Hey guys, another ZZ Top reaction. Had a great time at the concert in Reno on Saturday. During the song Tush they dubbed in Dusty Hills voice. They had no set list, said they are just going to wing it. Awesome time we had.
What I love the most about your reactions is that you are musicians appreciating musicians. You guys give some of the most authentic reactions ever! Thank you so much!
i'm 65 years old and I can remember sneaking into the bars when i was 16 to listen to them play. that was before they grew their beards and became famous. their music was down right spectactular 11
Just got done watching ZZ top live at the britt festival, jacksonville oregon...The band hasn't missed a beat since their glory days!! amazing show!! RIP Dusty...his stand in was excellent though I think his vocals were actually better tonite than on this performance...he was more on pitch ....the reverend billy g is just the king of cool...
Back in the early 80s when ZZ Top were in town the audience was full with fellow musicians. They were the tightest of tight trios, just listen to the live set on Fandango. What with Heard It On The X, Cheap Sunglasses and Tush these guys could mix up tempo and style….. and then came Legs, Gimmee All Your Lovin and Sharp Dressed Man taking them from Barroom Blues to Glitzy Rock n Roll. These guys were the coolest dudes in town.
Awesome thanks for posting another fun video, Me and my wife saw them New Year’s Eve 1980 in Dallas and like I always say my ears been ringing ever since we real close
I've know these guys since the '60's when we played many of the same venues. They've been together over 50 years and you can believe they're just as good now as back then. Dusty (bass) & Frank(drums) had been in a band called the American Blues with Dustys' brother Rocky (rip) on guitar. Billy(guitar) was with the Moving Sidewalks. These 3 have great fun at their shows and you will never be disappointed. The classic cars you see in some of their videos all belong to Billy. have fun guys.
I think this is the first time I've seen ZZTop without sunglasses. Hey, they have real eyes. And for me always surprising that songs are rediscovered by some, which for me in my youth heard up and down. Crap, I'm getting old.
I saw ZZ in 1973 in Ft Worth Texas and no beards maybe dusty might had a small beard then 10 more times during my life! TEXAS HERE WE LOVE ZZ TOP !🇺🇸😉💪
The chicken ranch in LA Grange was kind of a right of passage for many of us young men in Texas. Then channel 13 in Houston hired this reporter, Marvin Zindler and he got it shut down. His big claim to fame. After that he was delegated to slime in the ice machine at restaurants! I mean the winner of the annual Texas-Texas A&M game was always treated to LA Grange before he shut it down
The Chicken Ranch was an illegal brothel in the U.S. state of Texas that operated from 1905 until 1973. It was located in Fayette County, about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) east of downtown La Grange.
This song is about the Chicken Ranch bordello on the outskirts of LaGrange, Tx. Nothing but a pile of rubble now. Look up the history of it...pretty interesting. RIP Dusty.
as an old Texan, I can confirm, that little house outside of La Grange had a lot of nice girls, and I can also confirm those girls are heads and above what I see on TV and social media today. They had more beauty, more class and more brains than most of what I see today
Gotta say, while this may not be the first time I've seen the guys' eyes, it's certainly the most. The band announced their current tour is going on, too, with an old friend filling in for Dusty. Interesting. 🤘🤘🤘
If you moved to Austin, you'd never be hurting for gigs. Even the restaurants have stages. ... Then again, Stevie Ray said he had to move, because, "There's so much to do, I can't get any work done." ...
A fun fact about the name. Zig zag and Top rolling papers. From a old fun in Houston. I have seen the band many times live in the 70s. If you have a chance to see the the little band from Texas, do it. There getting up in age.
ZZ Top is awesome. Pure simple rock and roll recipe. A bit like UKs Status Quo. Songs like Caroline (just like La Grange with ZZ, this one has one of the best openings in Rock and roll). and Rocking all over the world is awesome.
There’s a movie based on ‘that shack outside La Grange’, called “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”. Between ZZ Top and the movie, it got a rather large spotlight cast upon it, causing many to call for it’s closing.
I heard they got booed at early concerts because of their outfits…they look like country artists, but they quickly changed their minds when they started playing. The guitarist once opened for Hendrix and Hendrix was a fan of his playing.
you have to watch the biographical movie (ZZ Top: That little ol band from Texas (2019)you will absolutely love it.. The Je nes sais quoi they have is unbelievable entertaining, from the bulls at the concerts to their beards...guys that knew how to throw a party. Also, you should visit Texas...that way if all their freedom loving ways of life aren't for you, you haven't committed to anything too damaging.
Have you all researched what they are talking about???? La Grange was a house of delight. Lots of nice girls....... I have never been there. Just read about it!!! ZZ was/is super, super good. I pray that Dusty rests in peace and that GOD takes him in.... Later you two!!!
Check out Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Super Bowl halftime show....my pops is very sick and it’d be awesome if you guys could do that...if not no worries....the music you all put out is effin awesome btw. KEEP ROCKIN!
Hey kids, meaning anyone under 40, there was a word and great music before you were on this earth. I know, hard to believe that the word and using didn't start with your entry to the word. But, it waspretty cool back then!
We just designed new merch! Check it out! teespring.com/stores/the-wolf-hunterz-merch
React to metal church, gods of wraths live 2005
I saw ZZ back then and could not believe the solid wall of music coming at me from 3 guys. Nobody sounds like them.
Even more, Billy G uses super skinny strings on his guitar that are 'supposed to' sound thin. Yet, this HUGE wall of sound.
@@Itelkner I'm amazed to this very day.
@@vickiroman189 So cool you got to see them
I saw them on the El Loco tour in 1981 in Jackson MS. Grand Funk opened for them. I remember thinking the same thing, that was a LOT of sound coming from 3 guys. Great great concert! ✌️
Saw in Indy. Old red brick stadium, before Indy 500 , '74, maybe '75 ? Who knows, who cares ?
I have always loved ZZ Top because I grew up listening to them and being from Houston,Texas myself. Love Love it.
RIP Dusty Hill, gone but not forgotten.
I saw them on the El Loco tour in Odessa TX. Could not believe how loud three guy's were. AMAZING show...from what I can remember.
This long play La Grange Hony Tonk BASH IS THEIR BEST VERSION.
I think I've seen ZZ Top about 20 times over the years. Not once did they ever disappoint on stage.
I saw ZZ Top in Hawaii when I was in the navy. ZZ Top is the only band I've ever seen that plays better live than they do on their records. The whole place is just charged with their energy.
Guys gotta hear the classic studio version now, too.
No matter how many times you see these guys, you can never believe how much music comes from 3 guys.
Billy boy knows how to play guitar. He was, is and ever will be a Legend !
Got super stoned with Mr.Gibbons in Baltimore after there show...a roadie of theirs is one of my pops best friends....ZZ Top is American rock royalty
I've seen these guys live 16 times since I was a kid. They always put on an amazing show.
They did a great longer version of La Grange live on the Howard Stern Show. Billy Gibbons also did a good version with Slash & others at a birthday party for Slash.
Had the good fortune of seeing them live in Sarnia, Ontario in 2007. Effing amazing! RIP Dusty Hill.
I'm a life-long metal guy but the "Little Old Band from Texas" is the coolest three guys to ever step on stage. Ever. I once got a chance to smoke with Dusty and Frank at an "undisclosed location" (Nashville) and they were every bit as friendly as you'd hope. R.I.P. Dusty.
Saw them for the first time in 1973, they killed it then and have ever since. RIP Dusty indeed. Do their Brown Sugar. Rock On. 😎

The most incredible group that I saw in my life. I was lucky to see them in 9 concerts in a period of 25 years.
Billy Gibbons covered a Jimi Hendrix song, and Jimi was backstage watching and listening. As Billy walked out, Jimi told him that he had guts!
What I love the most about your reactions is that you are musicians appreciating musicians. You guys give some of the most authentic reactions ever! Thank you so much!
Daryl’s House, Billy Gibbons, and La Grange. Best version ever!
Rest in peace, my friend! It was a brilliant masterpiece!!!
LaGrange right up the road from me. These boys are pure Texas sound. 😉

ZZ Top is a great live act. A fun show indeed.
There’s actually a ZZ Top documentary on Netflix. Worth the watch.
3 piece killer band. No smoke, no mirrors... Just killing rock!
I saw them in 2000 and they put on a awesome show. RIP Dusty Hill!
When ever I hear this song I think pub time.... R.I.P Dusty
Their live performances are amazing
ZZ Top is low-key the best.

Seen them in Cleveland back in the day! Love these guys RIP Dusty!
That is one of the greatest guitars of all time.
Come on down to Texas, the economy is great here, lots of nature, and music is awesome and plentiful. We have the best musicians ever!

I love Billy gibbons unique guitars. Also check him out before he wore the glasses and dread hat.

ZZ man! Always great studio and fantastic live.
Rest in Peace Dusty
The Chicken Ranch closed in 1973, the year the song (from Tres Hombres) was released.

Real American country rock! For all times

Rock-Blues gods up there with another Texan SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughn)
They put on quite a show live.
ZZ Top forever!!
U r best!!! With love in Russia!!!
Living right near the Texas border allowed me to know who they were before they got huge. Seem them at least 10 times and they never phoned it in.
Come here to Austin. The music is awesome. 😉😉
The penultimate ZZ song
The coolness degree of ZZTop was way over the top...
A fairly large percentage of the band's oeuvre is about--horizontal refreshments.

I believe Billy Gibbons taught Jimi Hendrix slide guitar.
Check out Pissed Off and Mad About It by Texas Hippie Coalition. They have Big Dad Rich as frontman and a wicked guitarist

Austin music the very best.

One of AC/DC’s hits is inspired by Texas, 100%! Thunderstruck, written by their legendary guitarist.
More particularly, both songs are inspired by the same Texas whorehouse outside LaGrange.

O K you two. Now that you have gotten on to the ZZ top train, I have a suggestion of a video for you all. Check out ZZ's just got paid -- live.....
Singing about that little cathouse outside Lagrange
Lotta NICE girls out there.
You said it perfect. Do you all know what the shack is/was????? Billy can shred his guitar.... He is bad & he is nationwide!!!!
