Deep Purple Perfect Strangers Live at The Greek Theater L.A. 2017

- Don Airey keyboard solo (including snippets of Mozart's Turkish Rondo and America The Beautiful) is followed by the title track from Deep Purple's 1984 comeback album Perfect Strangers (3:09). Like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest before them, Deep Purple ends their enduring live concerts on The Long Goodbye Tour.
Deep Purple current band members are Ian Paice - drums, Roger Glover - bass guitar, Ian Gillan - lead vocals (original progressive rock founders), Steve Morse - guitar (since 1994) and Don Airey keyboards (since 2002).
Alice Cooper co-headlines with special guest Edgar Winter Group live in concert at The Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, CA on August 13, 2017.

I wish people would give Ian Gillan a break. He's a legend, but he's 72. He's carrying on the Deep Purple legend, as is his right and legacy. You're going to miss him when he's gone. People get older. Try to remember that he's not the same guy he was when they made this incredible music, and give him a break.

Just saw them in Phoenix on 8/16 with Alice Cooper. Really a great double bill of the classics. Both bands are the masters of the 70's.

I think the fact Ian is still alive at this age is a minor miracle, given the nature of the lifestyle, which killed Jon, and Tommy before him (though the latter to Heroin, which Ian never touched). They are five elderly gentlemen living their last days on their own terms, who would deny them that?
Need to see Purple before I die, or they die, could go either way. Seen the Ian Gillan Band, Rainbow and Whitesnake but never Purple.

I was brought here by "British guitarist reacts" aka Wings of Pegasus channel. Learning about so many classic rock bands that were a bit before my time (3 to 12 years old in the 70s). Check his channel out! He does more of a music analysis than a reaction. He has his own original music and does covers as well, excellent musician and teacher!...✌❤🤘
This isn't my favorite lineup but for those of you complaining about Ian's vocals must be tone deaf ! And let's here anyone of you out do a nearly 70 year old man, nobody's young forever.
I was there as well and Alice Cooper as far as a showman blew Deep Purple away but Deep Purple is who I came to see. Musically they were great but Ian is getting up there in age.

Are some of the muppets on here deaf or dumb? Do they expect Ian Gillan to sound as he did when he was 30? He hit every note on this. He's still a great singer and shouldn't be criticised by fools because he can't shatter glass anymore! Still a great band, still a great singer. There are literally thousands of new bands who will never be anywhere near as good as these guys are now!

I do agree that his voice isn’t what it used to be, but as with any human being, he’s getting old now. We also know that Gillian tends not to take very good care of his vocals. Apparently he has a reputation of not keeping his voice in shape when going on tour. Either way, I’ll be seeing him and Judas Priest later this month and even if his voice isn’t perfect, it’ll probably be my only chance to see DP.

Both bands were very entertaining and professional. Great bang for your buck if you go. Just saw them both Tuesday night. Reminds me of the Joe Walsh and Bad Company tour last year. Both concerts had two of the giants from the 70's.
