I don't care who you are, if you have reputation as a major asshole for 50 years, it's going to cost you clout and respect with everyone in the business.
@@Mr75044 No problem. Another reason IMO is when DP peaked in 1972 with Machine Head, a year later Ian quit so they couldn't build on their momentum to stay with Zeppelin & Sabbath. Sure Coverdale is an incredible singer but it wasn't the same.
He could've called it "Richie Blackmore's Deep Purple", like there's two different versions of Great White, there's the band Great White and "Jack Russell's Great White"
The setlist was not mostly Deep Purple songs. As far as I remember, they played: Highway Star - Deep Purple Spotlight Kid - Rainbow Mistreated - Deep Purple Since You Been Gone - Rainbow Man on the Silver Mountain - Rainbow Catch the Rainbow - Rainbow Sixteenth Century Greensleeves - Rainbow Difficult to Cure - Rainbow Stargazer - Rainbow Child in Time - Deep Purple Perfect Strangers - Deep Purple Long Live Rock 'n' Roll - Rainbow Black Night - Deep Purple Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple Deep Purple: 6 Rainbow : 8
I did not knew he played Highway Star with Doogie White. But he definitely played Perfect Strangers and he also played a Medley of Long Live Rock 'n' Roll and Black Night...
Is there no critiquing anymore, ya know listening and touching on the dynamics of the performance and the tightness ya get from practicing and performing. All I see is the redundancy in the comments, there's no original thought or critique as to the mixing, quality, stage presence and the rest, I mean don't get me wrong the guys were good but it's not just praise because of their history of groups or whatever. When listening take into consideration that each comment is individual feelings, not just going through them all then coming up with the same 100 comments. Bands that do videos even if their posted by fans should endure comments of bad or good. It keeps performers on their toes to always go beyond their potential. I have played in bands in the 60s and opened for Hot Tuna w/grace slick, Papa John Creach We got a standing'O twice. And yes we would always watch and listen to our own videos because it makes you better. We always enjoyed the feedback it kept us stronger as a group and for our own personal gains and challenges in our journeys and our own perfections that comes being in a band. The singer came out to soon and ruined the original intro ! yeah he was good but don't let your ego take command. I really like their drummer David Keith! Their singer Ronnie Romero covers this song effortlessly but it's not fair to compare him to an aging Gillan as the younger voice is always stronger. They keys & bass hold the band together while the vocals & drums drive the band. Ritchie does appear older & wiser nowhere near his old volatile self of being ready to kill anybody that ventures on to his side of the stage. It does feel as if he's trying to recreate the classic Purple lineup with Lord, Glover, & Paice. The man in black still plays very well perhaps not with the fire of old because of health issues but I would still love to see them in concert. Rock as long as you can Ritchie. You don't need to prove yourself to anybody. play because you love it & I think he does.
I never knew this video existed until 10 minutes ago !! WOW ! What a Stellar throwback to my youth ,, I thought Blackmore left society all together decades ago to focus on playing Indian music and stand in the shadows instead of the mainstream
@popcorns house I would say with the improvement in equipment and technology and guitar schools the like of Vai satriani petrucci and even Van Halen had a big advantage over Blackmore in his late 60s early 70sdeep purple hey day...I mean he probably used a decent strat but he hadn't the latest ibanez with finely balanced locking nut and tremelo system or any of the whizzi guitars van halen had over the years after his first customised fender by Kramer, Peavey, music Man and now his amazingly designed fender custom shop guitar....
Ronnie James Dio is a better vocalist than Ian. Ian never sang properly and ended up losing his voice occasionally. Ian screamed as much as he sang. Screaming is not singing. I saw Ronnie´s band when he was just a kid, I must say, he was unbelievable, he had a band named Barracuda in Chile, he always sang this way, I am very proud of what he became
Never heard of him before but the guy is fucking great!
Rainbow still rocks like hell!!! Thanks for the upload man.
All you people criticizing just imagine your great grandfather up there playing lead guitar up on stage.
Да что там играющего! Хотя бы просто ровно стоящего на своих ногах

Who ever criticize Richie is either an idiot or extremely ignorant.
Critichiamo il resto
I love it! Vocalist Ronnie Romero is really good and Stratovarius Jen Johansson (keyboards) is great too!
But the keyboardist cannot be compared to Mr Don Airey.
never heard of him but does really good job . way better than jojo turner
Have you ever heard of Jon Lord ?
İf it's the same Jens Johansson that played with Malmsteen back then, he's one of the best in the world.
Dirty fingers Blackmore looks like one of the 3 musketeers and plays like a greedy pirate - no care for the audience or his band members - only here on earth for himself!! Under his wizard hat is all the money he stole from former band members!!! He's a LEGEND !!!
No clue who that singer is but man what a pleasant surprise. This is a great version
it sounds more compact , the way it should be....Rainbow for ever, thanks Richie Blacmore for this 3 concerts!!!
Awesome. OK Ritchie, now you know how great it is to play hard rock again ... tour the US please.
Awesome, Ritchie seems less nervous & more confident today 🎸😊
Now he is really into it ! Magical! Wow!
Yes, Loreley it looked like he had a bit of shit in his pant... :D
How many bands around today will be remembered for their half-century musical contribution and influence as Ritchie Blackmore and Deep Purple did?
that bass player was thoroughly enjoying all that was going on around him... right and left...
Two things , 1st Ritchie wants to play a bit more before his retirement so stop being that angry at him is not for the money it's just a nice way to end an amazing and inspiring carrer . 2nd that guy on the vocals is chilean ( from Chile) and I think it only proves that music has no boundaries , it's nice to see southamerican musicians in Europe , for me that's rock'n roll about . Best wishes from Chile 🤗
Dude on vocal has ZERO business singing DP songs.
Yes - great vocals! Cool stage set up, too - with the old reel to reel tape recorders.
He uses that as a preamp. Won't play without it
Gosh This is Awesome !!..(Shak'in my head). Man, you know Ritchie Blackmore just never got recognition he so deserves ..Honestly I'd take over Page, Townshend and even Tony Iommi..( And i'm the biggest Black Sabbath fan ever)..
"Ritchie Blackmore just never got recognition he so deserves"
I disagree, he is widely recognised as one of the great guitar players of all time, and also one of the most difficult and cantankerous individuals. And both are deserved.
I'd love to see Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi do something together both these guys are really the fathers of heavy metal and are the inspiration for everything that came after....
Add Jimmy page in the mix too
@@norms3913 fuck Jimmy Page he's the most overrated guitarist of all time
@@shanefitz9648 Are you kidding me, Page being overrated. Sounds like you are a Page hater or a Zeppelin hater. Blackmore and Iommi are in my top 5 guitar players in my opinion. You are probably a Clapton and Beck fanboy, and they are in my top ten, but as a musician my self for over 40 years Page is not overrated
Ritchie and Tony both have that certain darkness they share
@@frankperricone2065 beck is cool still. Clapton sucks. he did nothing basically since Duane passed in 1971. No one coasted in neutral living off their name alone longer than Clapton. Most boring, lowest volume concert, I ever saw too, and this was 20 years ago, Clappy was not that old yet to be so boring
No Marshall stack? Right there you know this is going to be less than stellar.
no one uses Marshall anymore if you have ever realised in the past 20 years...
ROTFL... yeah no one.
marshallamps.com/artists/all/
Even if that WERE true, and it's absolutely not, it makes no sense for Ritchie to harken back to his olden days and not play through Marshall - his trademark rig.
You're an idiot.
Dirk Yarborough
well... trademark rig in another lifetime...
Ritchie uses ENGL for more than 20 years now, because he wanted to have a great sound from one amp instead of a whole wall of coming out a bit.
His white Marshall´s ended up on the dump long time ago.
But at least they still have AC/DC... :D
I know I´m an idiot :)
It's all about speaker emulation now. There is no need for a shit load of roadies anymore... Marshall stacks look so cool though!
doesn't he plays ENGL these days ?
It just feel different and awesome when u heard from the master himself.

@@Mr75044 I'm a big fan of Purple and dig Rainbow too. Blackmore as a musician is brilliant, that's not the issue.
This isn't new. RJD said he was an asshole and treated people around (including fans, band mates, his peers in other bands etc.) like shit and swore he would never be that way.

Thanks for uploading; AWESOME stuff, great to see the kings of rock still out doing their stuff...
I love how this is billed as "Rainbow" and the setlist is mostly Deep Purple covers
I think the name "Deep Purple" is taken at the moment.
He could've called it "Richie Blackmore's Deep Purple", like there's two different versions of Great White, there's the band Great White and "Jack Russell's Great White"
The setlist was not mostly Deep Purple songs. As far as I remember, they played:
Highway Star - Deep Purple
Spotlight Kid - Rainbow
Mistreated - Deep Purple
Since You Been Gone - Rainbow
Man on the Silver Mountain - Rainbow
Catch the Rainbow - Rainbow
Sixteenth Century Greensleeves - Rainbow
Difficult to Cure - Rainbow
Stargazer - Rainbow
Child in Time - Deep Purple
Perfect Strangers - Deep Purple
Long Live Rock 'n' Roll - Rainbow
Black Night - Deep Purple
Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
Deep Purple: 6
Rainbow : 8
No, it is not
I did not knew he played Highway Star with Doogie White. But he definitely played Perfect Strangers and he also played a Medley of Long Live Rock 'n' Roll and Black Night...
Unreal - Cheers for Posting
Sammy Hagar and ChickenFoot did a hell of a job.

Brilliant singing! (mr Blackmore's musical abilities don't need further praise. He's a kind of metal music God by definition.)
Ritchie can still rock , and that vocalist is awesome
chilean singer
I agree despite his look he fits so much vocally
Agreed. For me, he was best on ground for this performance. Ritchie's solo was rather underwhelming.
Yea , its only you. lol
and with the long range cameras of today, ritchie can't throw shit on the camera man anymore.
Es gibt nur EINEN Ritchie Blackmore!!! Wie super er noch mit über 70 Jahren Gitarre spielt!! Großartig!!
71 years old and still rocking. Albeit with the guitar up a bit higher and not moving around as much!
The guitarist did the best cover of this song I have heard yet!
Well it is his song
Snapes on spade...
Great show.Great cover of Rainbow from Deep Purple, Michael.
Лучше в мире группы, чем DEEP PURPLE нет и не скоро будет. Это эпоха. С ней шли по жизни и под их музыку и умирать не страшно.
Yes!,you are right, one of the BEST bands all over the world!!!!!!
солист тут так себе - никакой индивидуальности. Дип Перпл одна из самых любимых моих групп
Напоминает speed king
O melhor do rock 70's , me lembro quando ouvi isso pela primeira vez, parecia um meteoro caindo na terra .
Demais! hehehe
Escutou na decaada de 70 mesmo?
look at the bass players face, he is fucking loving it, i love little things like that, what performance!
Romero have beautiful voice !!!
My favorite - Lords of Black with him !!!
Of course it would not be so fair to compare those two voices these days!!!!
Othwerwise, the masters of the classic hard rock. No doubt !!!!
The singer hits some notes but sorry to say he doesn't have "it", no stage presence, not to mention his look is not DP
I love it Ritchie Blackmore looks like he's a character out of The Lord of the Rings! Long may he live!
Great to see Ritchie playing rock again, but I think he needs to crank the overdrive .Guitar sound is a bit too clean
He's always had a clean tone like that.
His tone is alright, but years takes some speed from Ritchie)
no! this is almost exactly the Blackmore´s NIght sound
not the same as old times tones , this sounds so dry.
And yet he sweeps like it was nothing...
Man.....This brings back the 70'S
I never knew this video existed until 10 minutes ago !! WOW ! What a Stellar throwback to my youth ,, I thought Blackmore left society all together decades ago to focus on playing Indian music and stand in the shadows instead of the mainstream
Just a chore for RB at this late stage. Still, he's one of the pioneers, much love.
RB is a living legend!
wicked! I had no idea Ritchie was still playing like this...
Look The man is a legend....he can make a few mistakes...I can forgive him...his legacy was sealed by the mid seventies !
@popcorns house I would say with the improvement in equipment and technology and guitar schools the like of Vai satriani petrucci and even Van Halen had a big advantage over Blackmore in his late 60s early 70sdeep purple hey day...I mean he probably used a decent strat but he hadn't the latest ibanez with finely balanced locking nut and tremelo system or any of the whizzi guitars van halen had over the years after his first customised fender by Kramer, Peavey, music Man and now his amazingly designed fender custom shop guitar....
jens johansson is a keyboard god!!!!!! I'm so glad to see him playing with his childhood heroes!!!!!
He turned himself into a cover band... it sound dull lifeless and soft
Ian Gillian can't be replaced. The version of Deep Purple is and will always remain a classic.
This one is not bad.....
So sorry, this is not DP and this version of Rainbow is a pale version of the 1975 edition. Take the hat off Ritchie and bury the hatchet with Ian..
Absolutely, yes it is so.
True that. @@chriszelez7970
Ronnie James Dio is a better vocalist than Ian. Ian never sang properly and ended up losing his voice occasionally. Ian screamed as much as he sang. Screaming is not singing.
