Money in Skyrim can be easy to obtain in large amounts, especially with a good blacksmith or alchemy skill, so there is no reason to stop breaking the guild rules if you wish to. I still remember I had to collect about 20 rare ingredients for the Mages Guild in Oblivion if I killed someone, and breaking one of the 5 tenets of the Dark Brotherhood will result in expulsion until you fight Sithis' Wrath, something that apparently works only 2 times, as the third time the player is kicked permanently.
I value them. In one of my play throughs as a High Elf, after I became Archmage, I stole them all away. I married Brelyna, had J’zargo as my follower, and made Onmund the Stewart of my main home, Lakeview Manor.
