Hope you enjoyed the video guys! And question of the video, what’s your favourite shout and why? 🤔 *FAQs (Click 'Read more')* 👇 Q: You mention that Call of Valor only summons one hero, but this is not true, as the first and second versions of the shout summon the other two heroes? 🧙♂ That is correct, but what I was trying to say (which I probably should have explained better) was that Call of Valor, in any of its 3 instances, can only summon one hero at a time. It would have been much better if when shouting 2 words, 2 heroes joined you into battle, and when shouting 3 words, all 3 heroes joined you into battle (at the same time). Q: Clear skies can also negate Alduin's meteor shout and can be used to stagger enemies constantly, as its cool-down is only 5 seconds? 🧙♂ Yep, forgot to mention that Clear Skies could do that to Alduin's meteor shout, but didn't even think to use Clear Skies in that way to stagger opponents outdoors! It's not just aesthetically pleasing after all and further justifies its (once controversial) ranking position :) Q: Unrelenting Force wasn’t actually the first shout we ever heard in Skyrim, it was Alduin’s Meteor Shout? 🧙♂️ If you include the Skyrim official trailer, Fus Ro Dah was in fact the first shout heard. Q: You can essentially emulate the Throw Voice shout by shooting an arrow at a surface? 🧙♂ I didn't even think of that, that's pretty neat! Though, if enemies are near, they can hear the pull-back of the bowstring, so do be careful! 🤫 Also, arrows don't say "Skeever Butt!" 😉 Q: You speak slower than Hermaeus Mora himself??! 🧙♂ Yep, you're right lol. Sorry... should have added more cuts to my commentary! Improvements shall be made for future content - mark my words! Pro tip: increase the playback speed in the UA-cam video settings ⏩ Q: Didn’t Marked for Death get nerfed? 🧙♂️ Unfortunately, or fortunately, (depending at which way you look at it), yes. It was patched in the 1.6.629 update because they wanted to fix a bug in the Shadowrend CC. Marked for Death now deals 75pts of armor damage for 60 seconds and can no longer be stacked.
The first time I ever used Storm Call was during the civil war questline while doing one of the Fort battles. It killed five soldiers total, none of which were enemies.
A shout that bends the skies to your will. Strikes a storm to smite your hostile and (friendly) people. I mean, it is a pretty awful shout to be honest, like you'd expect a lightning storm to be effective
It is cinematic though also this with call dragon and dragon aspect for maximum cinematic effect Also remember to use the zero shout cooldown exploit to do this
My storm call once hit Aela, my wife, who got pretty hurt and ran away from me, shouting "get away from me! She never came home This shout destroyed my marriage... I call it the divorce shout now
That's my exact point about it being reckless! 😂 but in all seriousness, I'm sorry man 😔, go find yourself a wife that's happy to weather the storms with you - that sh*t is true love! ❤
If you want to find her again then go to your quest book and then activate the miscellaneous quest for the companions to look for work because one of the markers will lead to Aela so you'll either be able to track her down in the wilderness or just find her back at jorrvaskr and pay your Bounty or sheathe your weapon if she's still mad.
I killed my wife in front of my children and Mudcrab Jim then ressurected her in front of them and walked ti the mini pier at the fish hatchery before fading into dust. 💘 so romantic
Summon Durnehviir is my favorite shout just cause I feel so bad for him. Plus the sheer fact you can raise an undead dragon from essentially a hellish landscape is absolutely mind boggling.
He's super clutch. Especially because you can summon him indoors if there's space. Plus summoning him is essentially a 4 for 1 special, since he usually summons his own 3 summons too.
@splinter360 Plus, if you have the twin souls perk, you can summon an atronach on top of that. Personally, I wish he was a conjuration spell since he takes up one of your summons anyway and I wish he was rideable but still my favorite.
@@stevenceja4706if you have the right spells and equipment you can summon a little army even without Durnehviir. You have 2 summons with the twin soul perk, use the first slot for the bone collossus and you can summon 2 additional skeletons on top. The second „big“ summon slot is best used for an Ayleid Lich because he summons a storm astronarch himself or ressurects strong enemies (even guards or draug deathlords) You can even enchant your armor so you can summon ANOTHER creature My little summoned army usually is bone collossus, skeleton warlock, skeleton champion, undying ghost, ayleid lich + his storm astronach havent faced anything in the vanilla game that can beat them except Karstaag and ebony warrior
The chad mage -Uses whirlwind sprint to charge at archer -Proceeds to throw a ranged spell at the archer point blank -Doesn't elaborate further -Leaves
fun fact about whirlwind sprint: the reason you hear the other 2 words only after the shout is done is because you outrun your own sound waves (even tho sound should be able to travel 100 ft in 1/10th of a second instead of 2.5 seconds but I'm not gonna question it)
i doubt anyone at Bethesda actually did the math. they probably just thought it was a fun idea and put it in, even if the player character was CLEARLY not moving at more than mach 1 (which just by a visual guess, yeah. we definitely aren’t)
One more thing about Become Ethereal shout. If you use only one word, the duration of the shout is longer than a dragon breath attack, so you can use it to nullify breath attacks from them, the cooldown from 1 word is also low enough, that it will be available again when they use the breath attack again. This is very useful early game, where you are not strong enough to tank the breath attack.
The "Clear Skies" shout likely becomes a lot more functionally useful with Survival Mode installed, since inclement weather negatively impacts your warmth rating in a HUGE way. (So does being hit by ice or fire magic, actually.)
Unrelenting force is also great when followers have parked themselves in the nearest doorway or narrow dungeon tunnel and won't let you through. Works EVERY TIME!
Something I learned about the Storm Call shout while tinkering with it is that it's not supposed to hit friendlies. There are conditions on the embedded magic effects that are supposed to prevent followers from being targeted, but for whatever reason, they don't work. I'm convinced that the reason the shout description says it'll hit "friends and enemies alike" is because Bethesda just couldn't figure out how to make it only hit enemies
When outdoors, Clear Skies actually shoots a staggering projectile just like level 1 Unrelenting Force, except it travels much faster and further, and the cooldown is only 5 seconds. It's strong enough to stagger dragons and prevent them from using breath attacks. A severely underrated shout, and legitimately one of the best combat shouts.
Just want to note, you can talk to Paarthurnax about meditation and boost either Unrelenting Force, Become Ethereal, or Fire Breath. If you choose Fire Breath it can boost it by 25%, not very much but worth a mention at least. If you choose Become Ethereal you get 25% faster health regen while ethereal, and if you choose Unrelenting Force you get 25% less stagger done to you and 25% more stagger done to others, not just from Unrelenting Force but all sources.
@@JaelinBezel It's Become Ethereal. Because Force, Fire, and Ethereal are the 3 you get from the main story. Buffing Frost Breath is from the Dragonbone DLC's main story, from the Black Book at Nchardak.
One of the black books increase the power of unrelenting force and desintegrate your enemies, I made a dragon disappear and was like wtf?! Then I figured this came from a book (I haven't paid attention when picked a power) and yes, you can still absorb the soul from the ashes.
@@TheTrueJevil yea. That’s why the whisper is better. Soon as you fire a bow they are alerted. They just happen to head to arrow because that’s the next thing they hear
One additional thing about Elemental Fury: It makes mining ore _insanely_ efficient if you're not using the interact button prompt. This comes in especially handy when you start mining stahlrim.
If you're not dual-wielding pickaxes to mine, you probably just never heard of it. Because unless you like spending many minutes mining all that stone and clay, dual wielding, especially when also using elemental fury, fills your inventory with rocks even faster than using the shout against your enemies depletes their health.
I knew about this but im asking if anyone knoes if this negates the benefits of getting the gemstones you can get out of it like you would get if you mined with the animations. Does the swinging only give you the ore or can you still also get the gems?
@@Aether_Star nope! after _extensive_ testing i've found that it's the exact same as the mining function but faster because it lacks the shitty animation.
@@eggsbox thanks for the update! Ive only ever been mining with the shitty animations in fear of losing my gemstones and never bothered testing since i also went to buy the ores. Great to hear this
@@runtergerutscht4401 The only reason i don't dual-wield pickaxes is because I don't want the extra pickaxe taking up inventory space that I could be using for loot I don't need.
One particularly interesting thing about Throw Voice is that if you use it on one of those fire urns that float above oil slicks, the shout landing on it actually knocks the urn down, so you can potentially use Throw Voice to lure some enemies onto the oil then use it again on the urn to set the trap off
I absolutely adore Aura Whisper. Being able to plan my attack behind closed doors 50 feet away is invaluable. The word itself is also useful. "Whisper" makes it one of the only "shouts" that won't break stealth.
Fully used all Aura Whisper words while inside the 1st floor of Black Briar Mansion...and believe me, those thugs in the 2nd floor got alerted immediately after shouting or should I say, _whispering_ it 😅 So yeah, it could still break stealth if you used it near an enemy/enemies. I'm using Skyrim LE btw.
I personally love Storm Call the most, it saved my ass when you get dropped off at Skuldafn and are surrounded by high level Draugr. It was the most badass moment in my play through
I did to except that I had daedric stuff so the beginning was no problem for the most part But the "badass" moment for me was with the dragon priest fight I used dragon aspect then storm call The priest and dragons never stood a chance It was fun especially with a daedric mace Daedric Mace go BONK
I always assumed everyone agreed it's the dragonborn's greatest, like, default most baddass power. Like, Ulfric asks you to use it seiging Solitude and you're just like "No, it's too dangerous."
No one seems to realize that which hero of snvgarde you summon depends on how many words you use, you only summon one-eye because you always use all 3 words.
I always loved the "stop time" one just because it seems so amazing to imagine the npcs looking at you sprinting and killing everyone in seconds, and also because you are able to shoot multiple arrows, walk next to the enemy and watch them die instantly
It's the best shout in the game I remember being ambushed by 5 frost trolls I used slow time killed them all while it was slow then when it ended I saw the bodies drop
@@BKBK-yo1zz Nah, at least in my version, there's a bug that makes it last a crazy long time. So I'd get power attacked by a skeever at the start of a dungeon, then run though and kill everyone before they could react.
Slow time is also capable of being affected by any fortify alteration potion. A really high potion can REALLY increase how long you're in slow time, and basically make it so, when you come back out, it's available to be cast again.
@Tobias Leocadio You don’t find dragons, dragons find you. And it’s really fucking annoying when you want to wait, but there’s a dragon nearby that says "fuck you and your waiting."
The Call Storms shout can be used in Blackreach. Because of how huge Blackreach is you character is moved outside in order to properly load in. And because of how huge the roof is in Blackreach you can at times see clouds. Meaning you have enough space to summon the storm
I've always loved storm call, I know it has shit utility but if you sneak into a major bandit camp it can be a lot of fun to watch everyone get electrocuted.
@@adeelahmed4370 basicaly you become Talos , legend says he had a crown of thunder clouds on each battle , so pretty much he used this shout on every battle
For me, Marked for Death has always been one of my top Shouts in Skyrim. Its absurd how frail it makes the majority of enemies you fight, and the fact that with the game as is, the armour reduction is permanent is just scarily overpowered. It was powerful enough for me to two-shot Alduin and the Ebony Warrior after a couple of applications
The best thing is when you use "Marked for death" and fight with a mace and have his own 1 handed ability (you know, the perk that ignores armor when useing a mace), that can moestly kill everone more faster than just using Market for death...
Throw Voice is actually REALLY good, since it resets the NPC's awareness state to a point where they can get sneak attacked. Normally if you sneak attack one enemy, you'd have to wait for the eye to close to be able to register a sneak attack. With Throw Voice, you can hit one, use the shout, and hit the other.
Pro tip: Use call dragon Wait 3 hours Your shout cooldown is in 0 Use summon durnehviir. In total 1 fire dragon, 1 frost dragon, 1 wrathmen, 1 mistmen 1 bonemen and you.
For anyone interested in utilizing shouts, I recommend the perk overhaul mod Ordinator, it allows shouts to be scaled with your level, grant you extra buffs and overall make shouting more fun and useful. I also recommend the mod Thunderchild, it adds new shouts that are lore friendly
Also in the destruction tree there's a perk which buffs your elemental spells depending on the weather buffing up call storm and clear skies for shock and fire spells
There's better mod in my opinion without changing vanila to far with small size, dragon aspect unblocker (no one day cool down dragon aspect), shout scaling magnitude based on unspent dragon souls (so the shout magnitude only work for player) the more you absorb dragon souls the more stronger your voice , or just try creation kit to tweak your shout but all tweaked shouts will effect globally
Thunderchild is extremely overpowered tho since you can swap your health with someone or deal damage based on missing health. But Armageddon tho... Might make an exception
@@theWelshWizard bro nice video my fav shout is whirl wind sprint did u try out the glitch to use ur shouts inifite of time? I don't know how many people tried this but Alduin has a call storm shout of his own and you can use "Clear Skies Shout" to stop his meteor attacks, can also be used on your own storm call shout to stop lighting stikes. I assume anything that alters weather can be cleared with clear skies.
Tried that on a Dwemer Centurion, but without the shout. Made him follow me, then ran at the top of the sloping passage and stepped on the triggering button. It was enjoyable.
@@joebloniarz4268 Frost breath gets upgraded once by a black book, It’s Become Ethereal, Fire Breath and Unrelenting force that get paarthurnax word meditations.
Lv. 1 Clear Skies is actually amazing in combat, since it staggers EVERYTHING (including dragons) and has a 5 second recharge time. Strictly better than Dragonrend for fighting non-Alduin dragons once they land. Only problems are that it only works outside and it's harder to hit multiple enemies with it than Lv. 3 Unrelenting Force. Hardly an all purpose shout but it's hilarious to trivialize Karstaag at level 1 with no skills leveled by spamming Clear Skies and using Storm Atronach staffs.
The clear sky shout also is a must ave in order to use Auriel bow efficiently i often use auriel bow with my Holy paladin build Dawnbreaker auriel shield stendar hammer fire and restoration spell dawngard armor " white variant "
Soul tear was always my fav, killing an enemy with a shout, ripping their soul from their body and trapping it in a gem, and then using their corpse as a subordinate.
I use the infinite shout glitch where you have a bunch of Amulets of Talos equipped at the same time, so I can just walk into a bandit camp and use Soul Tear to instant kill practically everyone there lol
Wow, I've been playing Skyrim for years and only just now learned slow time can be used to extend the time of enchanting/smithing potions. There really is always something new to learn!
I used a mod that disabled shout cooldown and it allowed for seriously creative shouting. Using Slow Time and then seeing Unrelenting Force blast through 6 enemies at 10% speed is just poetry.
If you give your follower 5 amulets of talos, then transform into a werewolf right as you click to talk to them, you can equip all 5 amulets at once and remove the cool down completely in vanilla. (However transforming into a werewolf again will unequip all except 1 of them after you return to human form)
If you upgrade your shield perks to the shield rush bash and slow motion during power attacks, you can wait for a power attack, shield rush them and throw them in the air in slow motion then catch them mid air with force push. Very satisfying
in my next playthrough of skyrim (this is my first time playing and I'm pretty sure I'm not even 50% done with the game) im absolutely putting on game breaking and plain entertaining mods like disable shout cooldown. Being able to launch everyone around at all times sounds like heaven.
I wish there was some way to do this legitimately in the game. Not with game breaking glitches, but some type of end-game boon. It would be fun to watch the true full power of the Dragonborn be unleashed.
I've never really used Storm Call, except for if I'm clearing out large areas which I know for a fact have no allies within (like a Forsworn camp, or that area you're brought to which leads to Sovrengaurde.
What hasn’t been mentioned is that Ice Form is perfect for freezing Lydia when she’s blocking the way by knocking her down so you can step over her and _finally_ get through.
When used outdoors it staggers everything, including dragons, with only a 5s recharge time. Trivializes any one-enemy outdoors encounter, but mostly I use it because harmlessly making Paarthanaux dramatically flinch and roar every 3 seconds in the middle of one of his long philosophical speeches is hilarious
Is nobody gonna talk about the Slow time and Bow combo? that is seriously epic. You can line up your shoots, stack the arrows and have like 12 fly at an enemy when the shout is over almost a garanteed kill on anyone. Damn i got a Heart :)
Awesome video bro, this motivated me to try out all the other shouts because after 10 years of playing skyrim I havent even used half of them in combat situations yet. Just unrelenting force and whirlwind sprint 99% of the time
Man oh man is it god tier on legendary my current legendary run I’m lvl 25 with almost all Ebony Armor and I have my heavy armor tree up to 68 with all the upgrades and like 260 HP and Trolls still 3 shot me
Just a tip, I don’t recommend using Disarm on a mage…I used that shout today on a mage and just sat there for a good 20 seconds before realizing that you can’t exactly disarm magic…
I can imagine the mage when you used it 😆:- You: *shouts Mage: *surrenders “ah you got me this time, what am I going to do??!” Mage: *proceeds to throw fireball 🔥 Dragonborn: 😑 😂😂
Well, as a matter of fact, I'm gonna name my top favorite shouts. 1: Dragon Aspect - truly one of the most busted support shouts of all time as it not only improves damage, armor, and thensome, but look positively stunning in design. 2: Elemental Fury - a shout highly underrated in warrior builds, this shout turns any dual wielding warrior into an absolute blender and can kill any target within seconds, sometimes even on legendary difficulty. 3: Slow Time - absolutely busted. This shout definitely gives enemies a run for their money and can do plenty of harm to your enemies. Truly one of my favorites. 4: Unrelenting Force - Why you ask? Well the uploader of the video just explained why. Plus being able to disintegrate enemies with Dragonborn Force perk is nuts. 5: Fire Breath - 1 word to describe: Awesome. Being a true dragonborn is having the ability to spit fire like the other dragon's and personally, I enjoy being able to set my foes ablaze.
I remember getting softlocked in that one Dawnguard mission with the moths and the Elder Scroll and the tree bark because Serana wouldn’t move from the beginning of the area and I couldn’t progress without her saying some dialogue by the tree. I had to manually “escort” her. So, let’s just say Unrelenting Force loses some of its charm after hearing it for the 50th time in a row.
I lost count of all the times I had to knock Serana off the towers with Fus-Ro-Dah in the Soul Cairn when she got stuck on the stairs or on upper floors.
You could also run into her. If you run into NPCs (including followers) they stagger a step back. Works wonders when Lydia is again trying to imprison you on a house.
normally use serana as a follower because she knows how to not yell get down mr. president right as i fire an arrow at some dumb bandit with poor survival instincts however her reanimated undead dont count as once you kill them again they wont get up a third time
Dragon rend does have a small issue where the dragon won't land for a while, probably due to needing to find a suitable landing spot. Quite often, you'll need a mod to make it work more effectively.
I love Whirlwind Sprint because, besides making you run while overloaded, you can also use to sequence break some dungeons or even negate fall damage too
My most frequently used shouts are Aura Whisper and Ice Form, but Storm Call is among my favorites for sheer entertainment value. It's one of the best at making you feel truly powerful on a level that other mortals can only aspire to, IMHO. As an aside, it's interesting and gratifying how many of the shouts are prized for their utility rather than sheer destructive power. Any old mage can shoot a fireball, but shouts provide truly unique effects with broad applications.
Shouts are basically like arguments in a debate. Imagine insulting someone so hard, they have to take a break. Or yelling so loudly, time itself takes a break and waits for you.
Yeah Aura Whisper is definitely my most used shout, silent casting detect life/death at a much greater range than both spells can reach. Plus how useful it is inside Dwelmer ruins can't be said enough lol
i think the cool down makes or breaks a shout, like i don't see anyone using summon dragon in a serious playthrough, outside of the civil war "attack this fort" missions. but unrelenting force will be used again and again.
Summon Durnehviir and Call Dragon can come in pretty useful for your forts as well, but indeed, apart from those rare occasions, the other shouts are generally used more often. Got to love Unrelenting Force! 😁
Look, I know Unrelenting Force is super entertaining, but the cooldown for the third level of it is just a little too long for me to seriously put it in one of the top spots. 25 seconds, sure. Maybe 30. 45? Nah, I could think of more practical shouts to use in its place.
@@theWelshWizard you can actually use the first words of summon durnehviir as a replacement for first word unrelenting shout, it has the same slight knock back effect but only on a 5 second cooldown. It’s amazing when fighting strong enemies and need a quick second to heal or set up for a heavy swing/dual cast.
Here's my reasons for why Call of Valor should be higher on the list: Harkon is essential, healable and able to kept summoned indefinitely. He's level 30 and knows shouts like Disarm, Dragonrend and Unrelenting Force and has access to Battle Cry, the Nord racial. He is an absolute UNIT of a summon. In combination with a follower, they can take on anything the game has to offer.
To me it’s just a very underwhelming reward for finishing the main storyline. All you get is a new conjuration spell (essentially) which become useless when enemies become stronger than him. The shout takes a solid 2 minutes to recharge, keeping you from using any other shouts. Also, you only have a 1/3 chance of getting hakon to spawn instead of another hero. A better alternative is the spell “Summon Arniel's Shade” which summons the ghost of Arniel Gane (an immortal ghost wizard with quite powerful spells). It lasts just as long as Call of Valor & costs zero magika to cast. And since it costs no magika to cast, you can instantly replace it if it dies. It’s only downside is that it gives no xp for any interaction.
Regarding the Whirlwind Sprint Shout, there's a fun little feature on it where you can actually body slam yourself into the enemy, briefly stunning them for a few seconds.
If you have the last Block perk, you can put up your shield and start sprinting then use Whirlwind Sprint as well, crashing into folks and yeeting them noticeably farther than if you would just sprint into them normally. Doesn't always work though sadly for whatever reason but it is quite satisfying and spectacular when it does.
I use Clear Skies too whenever I need to clear out the skies. I hate it whenever I can't see the full sunshine during the day or see the sea of stars and those fancy aurora displays during the night.
Some interesting things is the shouts can be even more powerful if you use your alchemy leveled potions. Basically each shout are features for each magic class; Alteration, Illusion, Destruction, Conjuration and Restoration. For example fire and ice shouts are classed as Destruction so drinking a elixir will amplify the strength for that specific class. Same goes for Slow Time for Alteration and Kyne’ Peace for Illusion.
Interesting... No wonder why my fire breath was doing extra damage with 50% extra damage destruction skill, fire within 25%, Dragon Aspects 25% more damage = 100% power. Plus, Hermora black book getting more fire power. Like a dragon should be
I used to always use this trick until my game bugged out and now I have infinite elemental fury with the annoying wind sound effect playing 24/7. Great!
Elemental Fury needs to be way higher dude, dual wielding legendary smithed daedric swords with all 3 words means you can drop a dragon priest ludicrously fast, the DPS is real
From the outside looking in the slow time shout has better DPS and can be used with enchanted weapons. Elemental fury is a ton of fun, and is great to use in conjunction with the orc berserker mode to effectively quadruple your damage, but slow time can do that but faster. Slow time slows by 90%, meaning you can attack 10x faster than your opponent, whereas the elemental fury gives double speed.
For ice form, you didn’t mention the black book ability that lets you hit frozen enemies without them being unfrozen. I think that truly makes it a top tier shout
Cyclone is actually one of my favorites, but not for combat. Usually I pick all the unneeded stuff and put it on a pile. One Cyclone and all the garbage flys around - much to my enjoyment.
One of my favorite Skyrim kill videos uses cyclone. Cyclone, guys up in the air, pickpocket all of his clothes off, dude is dead when he hits the ground.
Not a lot of people seem to know how meta Clear Skies actually is. When outside, it is basically a free stagger on any target using just the first word, which has 5 seconds of cooldown, it removes the meteor storm from Alduin's boss fight, and essentially allows you to stun-lock enemies with slow attack speed when used in conjunction with power attacks.
My one pet peeve of shouts is the delay between the first and second word. Many of them would sound better if all three words were said fluidly. Imagine how good Unrelenting Force would sound if it were like the trailer.
@@SquishyOfCinder I did, then I tried saying it normally. Saying it with an exhale sounds closer. This is also disproven by the fact that Fus works as its own shout. Sending a shout outward while inhaling🤦🏿♂
The dragon armor is my favorite one just because I used it on an Argonian and took a screenshot of him standing on a rocky waterfall inside that huge dwarven underground city. It was so breathtaking I'll always remember that in particular from Skyrim as someone that only played it for about 100 hours.
Kyne's Peace's true utility: Sending EVERY item in a given map in every direction, regardless of where you're facing since it goes through walls and fires in every direction like an explosion. Best used in Black-Briar Lodge/Manor. Also, elemental fury: right hand, enchant with paralyze/absorb stamina, or both. You're welcome.
@Bence Szabó Which is why you only enchant the right-handed weapon. Dual-Wield power attack speeds are determined by the left-handed weapon's speed, which will be affected by Elemental Fury.
if I get the last enchanting perk that allows two enchantments per item and only enchant my weapon with one effect, will I be able to use elemental fury?
@@gauravrajmishra4510 No. For Elemental Fury, it's either an enchanted, or not. If not, it's enchanted with Elemental Fury. If it is already enchanted, it's not affected. Number or type of enchantment is irrelevant.
The Call of Valor shout could've been the one exception to the "third-word only" rule since it'll also summon one of the other two heroes depending on if you use one or two words.
I know I’m a year late but ancillary note: Elemental fury is broken as hell on survival mode as the debuff from hunger is reversed by elemental fury, turning it into an equal attack speed buff. I can attack five to six times a second with a longsword using this trick if at max hunger. Still hasn’t been patched out this far.
Kynes peace also becomes much more useful in survival mode: when you've been stuck for half an hour north of winterhold and are at 50 max hp due to the cold, bears are a problem.
To add to it's usefulness, if used in dawnguard it can be used in the soul carin which helps in fights against the keepers and such, but it's usefulness suffers with it's cooldown

Honestly the weirdest fucking decisions for skyrim were when they went "hey how about we make most of this stuff useless ether after a certain level, give it to you late in the game after you have no need for it, or just make these ineffective against half the stuff you would want to use them on in a pinch" This applies to so many things but ESPECIALLY the shouts that are suppose to be the unique selling point of the game.
The idea behind the ones that only affect low level enemies coming in late is that it gives you the ability to ignore low levelled enemies. The problem with that idea is that I kill them in one hit and can then ignore them without wasting a soul.
That's just Bethesdas leveling system. There are plenty other things to say about this game that are bothersome like the low bounties for bandits, bonked resistances and armour, item distribution and enemy scaling etc.
Completely agree. Skyrim feels so neutered in some ways. Shouts could have been really special, but they mostly just feel lame. I still love summoning storms and Duneviir though lol
@@SadovnikovSS Actually even Vampire Lord needs to use Whirlwind Sprint in the ruined towers before Soul Cairn area. There are a few chests that are too far to get to otherwise.

I'm so happy you acknowledged Aura Whisper as a good shout. Way too many people sleep on it, even if you only have the first word. Quick cooldown, long range, useful almost anywhere.
I used to love Aura Whisper. I used it all the time because knowing where your enemies are at all times is just too useful. But then my overuse of it eventually caused my character's eyes to glow like a Draugr. I haven't used Aura Whisper since and just stick with Detect Life.

It does fix numerous harmful bugs, but it also patches out useful exploits like Necromage Vampires, the Fortify Alchemy loop, Aspect of Terror's +10 to Fire Damage, etc. Thankfully it put Salmon Roe back after being told the high value was intentional. It also doesn't fix some bugs that have been around forever. Like the Creep Cluster bug that prevents you from harvesting them if you plant them in the garden of your Hearthfire home. (You can still plant them safely in the small single pots inside the greenhouse, just not in the garden or the big long planters.) It also doesn't touch the Flora Respawn bug which causes ingredients you have harvested to never grow back. If you pick everything in Whiterun, leave, wait 10 days, then come back you will find everything has grown back. But if you leave Whiterun without picking everything a second time and come back, the game will have forgotten that the plants were supposed to be fully regrown and everything will be bare again. It pisses me off to no end how USSEP doesn't fix that, yet there is a Flora Respawn fix for it which unfortunately isn't available on the PS4. And the latest USSEP screw up I have found is it breaks Delvin's dialog in a way that prevents him from giving you the Special Jobs. Yeah you read that right, you literally need to disable USSEP if you want to improve the Thieves Guild. If it wasn't for the genuinely harmful bugs I wouldn't have anything to do with it. USSEP is a fine example of the cure being only slightly better than the disease.
With "individual shouts cooldowns"-mod shouts actually become useful and it makes your character stronger and more versatile the more shouts you collect, making word collecting lot more rewarding and fun at the same time. I highly suggest the mod for anyone who wants new and very creative approach in combat.
Why isn't that in the vanilla game. Or even better, have it be a Thu'um line of perks that allow for shorter cooldowns (like how magic cost gets reduced) or multiple "active" shouts at the same time (like how two handed casting works or how you can unlock the ability to summon two minions at once)
@@HappyBeezerStudios Ordinator Perk Overhaul actually puts shouts under the Speech tree and actually lets you combo shouts/bind them together, in addition to giving it better cooldowns and more damage.
I love Soul Tear for my Evil Wizard/Warlock builds. It's basically an even grimmer version of Avada Kedavra with some beneficial side effects. And you get it from an undead dragon in a pocket realm of eternal misery. It's just the Dark Magic thuum
@@samuelussher8448 Noted, thanks for the response. I have ordinator and Apocalypse but I don't think either of those make spell enchantments and shouts interact. Speech tree is actually useful though and Magic and sick AF.
Ah, the Fus-Ro-Dah memes of 2011-2012... Even if some other shouts severely outclass Unrelenthing Force in utility, versatility or effectiveness, I think 1st place is still well deserved, for the memes alone.
Honestly tho, UF has a crap load of utility. It’s not that great against super huge enemies(dragons), but it has helped me so much for instakilling draugr death overlords or bandit chiefs.
@@albinocat there's a few lesser boss encounters that have built in cheese. Like the moonstone mine deathlord in the Markarth area not far from Old Hroldan. There's an ancient Nord fireball turret right behind him with fucking aim bot that fires every 5 seconds and you can't stealth by it. There's also the Ancient Nord Amulet brothers but specifically the bow bro who has a maxed out UF shout, shadow clones, no room to kite the fucker, and did I mention that it takes for fucking ever to get up from that shout? Oh and he gets a quick recharge on the shout just in time for him to put you on your ass again and pelt you with arrows on top of the damage from you getting ragdolled, The shout does damage.
If you have the dragonborn dlc, a power you get from herma mora makes your shout instantly kill weaker enemies and turns them to ash. It also does an extra 25% stagger
Become Ethereal; you take no damage at all, (like jumping off the Throat of the World, vampiric life drain, ect.) And you don't run out of stamina when it's activated.
my favorite shout is cyclone because it easily knocks down all enemies in front of you and does decent damage. It's unrelenting force but makes them more readily available to start hacking at
As a fan of being stealthy and killing at distance, I pretty much only use two shouts: Aura Whisper and Throw Voice. In addition, I remember using Become Ethereal in my first playthrough to go around a bug. For some reason, the doors to Lagarshbur (or whatever name the Orc Stronghold of Malacath quest) did not open after killing the Giant outside, despite the cleric asking me to follow her and everything. So, I went up the mountain in the back, used the Shout, and dropped safely inside.
Almost every shout can be useful if you play with ordinator and invest your perk points into speechcraft. Summon Odahviing and Durnehviir are insanely valuable if you play with Dragon Combat Overhaul. Clear Sky is essential, if you use Frostfall and mods like ELFX Hardcore Weather. If I'm not mistaken, you can reset the cd of Dragon Aspect shout if you are a devotee of Akatosh with the Wintesun faiths mod. If you don't have those mods, I strongly suggest you try them out.
Another cool thing about clear skies, if your map is heavily clouded use Clear Skies then look at your map most don't realize that the map is rendering in real time with weather and everything this also implies that using a clear skies anywhere on the map clears the Skies over the entirety of Skyrim
Hope you enjoyed the video guys! And question of the video, what’s your favourite shout and why? 🤔
*FAQs (Click 'Read more')* 👇
Q: You mention that Call of Valor only summons one hero, but this is not true, as the first and second versions of the shout summon the other two heroes?
It's not just aesthetically pleasing after all and further justifies its (once controversial) ranking position :)
Q: Unrelenting Force wasn’t actually the first shout we ever heard in Skyrim, it was Alduin’s Meteor Shout?
🧙♂️ If you include the Skyrim official trailer, Fus Ro Dah was in fact the first shout heard.
Q: You can essentially emulate the Throw Voice shout by shooting an arrow at a surface?
🧙♂ I didn't even think of that, that's pretty neat! Though, if enemies are near, they can hear the pull-back of the bowstring, so do be careful! 🤫 Also, arrows don't say "Skeever Butt!" 😉
Q: You speak slower than Hermaeus Mora himself??!
🧙♂ Yep, you're right lol. Sorry... should have added more cuts to my commentary! Improvements shall be made for future content - mark my words! Pro tip: increase the playback speed in the UA-cam video settings ⏩
Q: Didn’t Marked for Death get nerfed?
🧙♂️ Unfortunately, or fortunately, (depending at which way you look at it), yes. It was patched in the 1.6.629 update because they wanted to fix a bug in the Shadowrend CC. Marked for Death now deals 75pts of armor damage for 60 seconds and can no longer be stacked.
Unrelenting Force you already know the answer :)
My favorite shout would have to be elemental fury because with dual legendary dragonbone axes I can kill legendary dragons on adept in 3 seconds
"FUS RO DAH!" is my favorite because it's so easy to obtain, and it really helps when fighting tough enemies such as the Draugr Deathlord.
I liked the flame one cause I'm basic
@@The6BitParadox it is a very op shout to be fair!
Wait a minute, you're telling me that Dragonrend gives dragons such an existential crisis that they have to sit down

Yes, it gives Dragons a severe mid life crisis. Or, if you like a 'mid flight crisis'.
The first time I ever used Storm Call was during the civil war questline while doing one of the Fort battles. It killed five soldiers total, none of which were enemies.
A shout that bends the skies to your will. Strikes a storm to smite your hostile and (friendly) people. I mean, it is a pretty awful shout to be honest, like you'd expect a lightning storm to be effective
lol. In my case, it was nighttime in Whiterun when vampires attacked and I had just unlocked a new shout.. No one was happy xD
Takes a lot of guts to confess ones crimes
The first time I ever used Storm Call was against Alduin. I didn't read the cooldown time. It was not pleasant.
It is cinematic though also this with call dragon and dragon aspect for maximum cinematic effect
Also remember to use the zero shout cooldown exploit to do this
My storm call once hit Aela, my wife, who got pretty hurt and ran away from me, shouting "get away from me!
She never came home
This shout destroyed my marriage... I call it the divorce shout now
That's my exact point about it being reckless! 😂 but in all seriousness, I'm sorry man 😔, go find yourself a wife that's happy to weather the storms with you - that sh*t is true love! ❤
Don’t ever release Teldryn Sero as a follower on the mainland..... YOU’LL NEVER FIND HIM AGAIN

So glad that someone else uses Summon Durnehviir just to get him out of the Soul Cairn for a little while!
You can give him a little field trip!
The second „big“ summon slot is best used for an Ayleid Lich because he summons a storm astronarch himself or ressurects strong enemies (even guards or draug deathlords)
You can even enchant your armor so you can summon ANOTHER creature
My little summoned army usually is
bone collossus, skeleton warlock, skeleton champion, undying ghost, ayleid lich + his storm astronach

This is how I end up playing, although I never considered whirlwind. Run up to enemies and point-blank cast fireball spam
I had a good laugh seeing that

Chadly
fun fact about whirlwind sprint: the reason you hear the other 2 words only after the shout is done is because you outrun your own sound waves (even tho sound should be able to travel 100 ft in 1/10th of a second instead of 2.5 seconds but I'm not gonna question it)
Interesting! 🤔 This made me think of poor master Borri lol - hearing him say "Nah Kest" as he fly's off the cliff never gets old :)
The hell are u doing here? U need to be at sanctuary because another settlement needs your help
I don't remember ever hearing the other two words after the first one
I just made this revelation as I was watching the video
i doubt anyone at Bethesda actually did the math. they probably just thought it was a fun idea and put it in, even if the player character was CLEARLY not moving at more than mach 1 (which just by a visual guess, yeah. we definitely aren’t)
That is a very good point! Thanks for sharing! 👍
You can also damage enemies with the bloodskal blade’s energy attack without the shout deactivating as long as you don’t melee them
Finally a use for the shout
This is literally my strategy. I am happy others caught on too. Its one of my top 5 shouts.
You also get infinite sprint while in the shout too
The "Clear Skies" shout likely becomes a lot more functionally useful with Survival Mode installed, since inclement weather negatively impacts your warmth rating in a HUGE way. (So does being hit by ice or fire magic, actually.)
and you can stagger enemies using only the first word
Survival tip: Tell the Blizzard to fuck off.
Or just against the snowstorms because Skyrim's snowstorms are essentially Stevie Wonder experience
Playing survival mode: 🤢
I have only played on survival mode(just got to know that there are modes) and it was hell for me ☠️☠️

Clear Skies can negate Alduin's meteor storm attack
Yup it may not be that useful but it shows the power the dragonborn to change weather, love it
As if Alduin wasn't easy enough.
Clear Skies can also stagger enemies... it's way better than Unrelenting Force, it's one of the best shouts, about top 3/5...
Wait what
*the bethesda secret agents would like to know your location*
Something I learned about the Storm Call shout while tinkering with it is that it's not supposed to hit friendlies. There are conditions on the embedded magic effects that are supposed to prevent followers from being targeted, but for whatever reason, they don't work. I'm convinced that the reason the shout description says it'll hit "friends and enemies alike" is because Bethesda just couldn't figure out how to make it only hit enemies
Is this a literal "it's not a bug, it's a feature"?? Lol
@@smithcubs it wouldn’t be a Bethesda game if it just works.
I think the Black Book Companion Insight effect helps negate the Storm Call hitting Friendlies.
Yeah Storm call messed me up good when I used it. It hit my follower (IDR who Lydia or Jzargo probably) and they turned hostile lol
Marked for death is my favorite. Also my least favorite. The effect stacks. All those times I accidentally hit Lydia. She never stood a chance.
Thats one thing I never knew!! I’ve been using Only Fus for so much time in early game to make able to live lol
It's literally the best shout in the game for combat because it gives you an almost instant reuse stagger attack that effects everyone near it
I was hoping someone would mention this, clear skies is the GOAT
@@GustinelliOnly Fus sounds like a website for some...fanart
Yeah I used to spam clear skies to cancel dragon breath weapons. Before that I just dodged them with ethereal form.
Frost breath not become ethereal
@@JaelinBezel : He means meditating to the dragon of top of Throat of the World, not reading a dark book of Deadric Prince.

One particularly interesting thing about Throw Voice is that if you use it on one of those fire urns that float above oil slicks, the shout landing on it actually knocks the urn down, so you can potentially use Throw Voice to lure some enemies onto the oil then use it again on the urn to set the trap off
That’s very cool! Will have to try that 👍 An arrow or spell should also do the job after the initial Throw Voice, but Throw voice is extra discreet 👌

Nice strat, I will have to try that!
Or use an arrow. First one to the ground, to lure the enemies, then one on the urn.
And spells also knock the urns.
I absolutely adore Aura Whisper. Being able to plan my attack behind closed doors 50 feet away is invaluable. The word itself is also useful. "Whisper" makes it one of the only "shouts" that won't break stealth.
Fully used all Aura Whisper words while inside the 1st floor of Black Briar Mansion...and believe me, those thugs in the 2nd floor got alerted immediately after shouting or should I say, _whispering_ it 😅

I’ll admit, I didn’t know until making this vid either! I teach you guys and myself 😆
Yeah me too (kinda shameful really lol)
Yeah, I had never heard this either. Will be great to try in my next game!
I just thought the same. Time to create even more powerful armor and weapons. xD
DAMN! 😆 great new tips here!
I used a mod that disabled shout cooldown and it allowed for seriously creative shouting.
Using Slow Time and then seeing Unrelenting Force blast through 6 enemies at 10% speed is just poetry.
ah yes, [Za Warldo]
I thought Storm Call was a pretty cool shout, it was neat how they gave the dragonborn a shout so powerful it can wipe out a city.
Apparently in canon, Dragonborns can shake entire continents with Unrelenting Force, so technically he could wipe out way more than a city.
I've never really used Storm Call, except for if I'm clearing out large areas which I know for a fact have no allies within (like a Forsworn camp, or that area you're brought to which leads to Sovrengaurde.

Initially I worried about a 30 minute video, but you made it funny and entertaining, as well as informative. Great video!
What hasn’t been mentioned is that Ice Form is perfect for freezing Lydia when she’s blocking the way by knocking her down so you can step over her and _finally_ get through.
When a follower does that, I find Unrelenting Force is to be the most suitable form of punishment! 😈 but Ice Form is a good alternative 😁
Putting your crosshairs on their face when standing in front of them causes followers to back up
Clear skies not only lets you clear the weather, it also breaks the steam attack made by Dwemer Centurions and clears the alduins storm call
@@TM-xc4yn holy shit, I have to try the Paarthurnax thing xd
Is nobody gonna talk about the Slow time and Bow combo? that is seriously epic. You can line up your shoots, stack the arrows and have like 12 fly at an enemy when the shout is over almost a garanteed kill on anyone.

😂 damn followers!
Console commands csn be a lifesaver: moveto player
normally use serana as a follower because she knows how to not yell get down mr. president right as i fire an arrow at some dumb bandit with poor survival instincts however her reanimated undead dont count as once you kill them again they wont get up a third time
17:25 I'm sure it has been said already, but Clear Skies can be used in the first fight against Alduin, to remove his Meteor Storm entirely!
I've been playing this game my whole life and never knew this...... I know what I'm doing later
Wait-theres a meteor storm,, why did I never realize,
It's kinda annoying when he shouts them back though.
@@ChokedOnStupidity because Alduin is so weak that he dies before you notice.
Clear skies is a really op shout, it can stagger any enemy including dragons whenever they breathe fire or whatever and it has a recharge rate of 15s
You forgot to mention that cyclone is the only shout that can penetrate magic wards even with only one word.
Now I shall get back at the wizard pricks for blocking my shouts (mods made it challenging)
A fireball can do the same thing if you don't shoot it directly at the person with the ward but rather at the ground next to them.
Dragon rend does have a small issue where the dragon won't land for a while, probably due to needing to find a suitable landing spot. Quite often, you'll need a mod to make it work more effectively.
I love Whirlwind Sprint because, besides making you run while overloaded, you can also use to sequence break some dungeons or even negate fall damage too
Not forgetting it’s ability to make you phase through a wall if you hold a bowl up against it
My most frequently used shouts are Aura Whisper and Ice Form, but Storm Call is among my favorites for sheer entertainment value.
Plus how useful it is inside Dwelmer ruins can't be said enough lol
throw voice always made me laugh because of the lines that get spoken
*Aura* whisper is my most used *shout* 🌌
i think the cool down makes or breaks a shout, like i don't see anyone using summon dragon in a serious playthrough, outside of the civil war "attack this fort" missions. but unrelenting force will be used again and again.
@@arnox4554 actually if you have 5 amulets of Talos in your inventory then equip them it will be faster to use the third lvl

I really like the aura whisper shout. Helps me tracking down brigands in dungeons
An how useful it is in Dlewmer ruins makes life so much easier when trying to be sneaky
@@qbertking1910 Or just stack 4 amulets of talos together an get unlimited shouting power!!

You stagger them. Same can be achieved via regular sprint into an NPC.
Kyne's peace and clear skies are my favourite shouts, simply because I don't want to have to kill the animals and I like to see the night sky

Playing your video at 1,75 speed is more time efficient
My one pet peeve of shouts is the delay between the first and second word. Many of them would sound better if all three words were said fluidly. Imagine how good Unrelenting Force would sound if it were like the trailer.

Kyne's Peace's true utility:
Sending EVERY item in a given map in every direction, regardless of where you're facing since it goes through walls and fires in every direction like an explosion.

The Call of Valor shout could've been the one exception to the "third-word only" rule since it'll also summon one of the other two heroes depending on if you use one or two words.
I know I’m a year late but ancillary note:
Elemental fury is broken as hell on survival mode as the debuff from hunger is reversed by elemental fury, turning it into an equal attack speed buff. I can attack five to six times a second with a longsword using this trick if at max hunger. Still hasn’t been patched out this far.
Are you suggesting a Bethesda game might be broken? Surely not!
Kynes peace also becomes much more useful in survival mode: when you've been stuck for half an hour north of winterhold and are at 50 max hp due to the cold, bears are a problem.
I feel the storm call shout is undererated, as the shout is quite useful against bandit forts, forsworn forts and stormcloak/ imperial war raids
To add to it's usefulness, if used in dawnguard it can be used in the soul carin which helps in fights against the keepers and such, but it's usefulness suffers with it's cooldown

Honestly the weirdest fucking decisions for skyrim were when they went "hey how about we make most of this stuff useless ether after a certain level, give it to you late in the game after you have no need for it, or just make these ineffective against half the stuff you would want to use them on in a pinch"
This applies to so many things but ESPECIALLY the shouts that are suppose to be the unique selling point of the game.
The idea behind the ones that only affect low level enemies coming in late is that it gives you the ability to ignore low levelled enemies.
The problem with that idea is that I kill them in one hit and can then ignore them without wasting a soul.
Fire Breath and Frost Breath I am 99% sure, can improve with Destruction Perks.
That's just Bethesdas leveling system. There are plenty other things to say about this game that are bothersome like the low bounties for bandits, bonked resistances and armour, item distribution and enemy scaling etc.

Glad you think it's good too! It's just very reassuring to see all life forms, you can then prepare and strategise your next move!
That is strange 🤔 do you have the Unofficial Patch installed? If not, that might fix it
@@theWelshWizard I didn't have USSEP when I encountered the Draugr Eyes glitch, but I have it now that I can finally connect my PS4 to the internet.
It was the first thing I downloaded, and boy what a disappointment it is. When you play Oblivion and ask for recommended mods the UOP is always the first on everyone's list, but USSEP is such a dumpster fire.
(You can still plant them safely in the small single pots inside the greenhouse, just not in the garden or the big long planters.)
It also doesn't touch the Flora Respawn bug which causes ingredients you have harvested to never grow back.

Why isn't that in the vanilla game. Or even better, have it be a Thu'um line of perks that allow for shorter cooldowns (like how magic cost gets reduced) or multiple "active" shouts at the same time (like how two handed casting works or how you can unlock the ability to summon two minions at once)

If I'm not mistaken, you can reset the cd of Dragon Aspect shout if you are a devotee of Akatosh with the Wintesun faiths mod.
If you don't have those mods, I strongly suggest you try them out.
Great list of mods there, thanks for sharing! 👍
Another cool thing about clear skies, if your map is heavily clouded use Clear Skies then look at your map most don't realize that the map is rendering in real time with weather and everything this also implies that using a clear skies anywhere on the map clears the Skies over the entirety of Skyrim
the stormcall shout can actually be used inside black reach for some reason and lightning strikes will come raining down from the ceiling
