  • Installing and reviewing both the Koplin "Throttle Master" and the Koplin "Handy Throttle" on two different ATVs. I like the Handy Throttle so much, if I bought a new ATV today, that's the first modification I'd do!

Mine came with ZERO instructions! Thank you for this!

Glad to help! It's actually harder to install than I originally suspected but the design makes sense and works great.
A guy recently told me his slipped a couple times and needed to glue the inner as per instructions. If you do a lot of bumpy / jumpy off road you may have to do the same.

How's this holding up over time? Curious if you had the same issue with the actuator snapping while riding.

The actuator has held up perfectly. About 4 months ago my brother came to visit and preferred the thumb throttle so I swapped it for him. I never put the twist throttle back on because he's coming to visit again.
I much prefer the twist with one exception. Going off road when it gets real bumpy it's difficult to maintain throttle control and can actually be dangerous.
My final verdict, if you're riding on smoother surfaces the twist rocks, otherwise the thumb throttle wins.

I with the kit came with 2 grips. I don’t like the right feeling bigger then the left. Otherwise I love this twist kit.

Totally agree with you. I bought after market grips that I love so much I kept the left one so they don't match now. I'll use the spare Koplin grip to replace the right side when it falls apart one day.
Funny now that I think of it, did mine even come with two grips?

@@HomesteadOnThePreserve mine didn’t come with 2 grips. And I did have to glue the inside tube to the bar. Even though it’s a tight fit. After a few miles of rough riding , it would get tweaked clockwise. Then it was hell getting it back into position.

@@pstarxxx78 Yes! Mine slipped once also when I went hard core off road. I moved it back and it's been fine. I haven't gone off road since but if it happens again I will glue it!
      Thanks for sharing your experience.

I hate to say this but I bought them both from Amazon. Only place I found them in stock and the price was fair.

I like to pronounce names correctly but that can't be, the P is before the L.

The purple band? I donated to a no kill rescue for that, it's got paw prints on it.
