    3:35, I bought a used case, I don't have it, the seller said that he broke it, I didn't really understand whether it was needed or not, he said that it holds a video card, but all of them were big and it held itself from below. It is not clear whether it is needed?

    A few tips from someone who's got about a dozen ITX builds.
    1. ITX builds are expensive compared to every other form factor, if budget is a concern but you still wish for something compact, I recommend Micro ATX, I've made like for like systems that are up to 35% cheaper just by going mATX.
    2. If you are new to PC building as a whole, I would again recommend mATX first, it's a much more forgiving format and will give you the much needed basics to building before attempting your main rig once you decide to either build new, upgrade with a downsize or transfer components from old system to new chassis.
    3. Custom cables are so underrated, air volume inside ITX cases is very limited, which means every cubic centimetre counts, the less mass you have inside the case, the easier it'll be for your case fans to push and pull air where you want it. Which will drastically improve thermals, which could mean you can add more power hungry components or an overall quieter operating experience under load.

      As a person who looked for a an EK basic a year ago I ended up running with the MSI coreliquid P240, runs okay if you switch the fans with phantecks and has perfect way to wrap the pipes around the ram. Although it does end up having some pipe on top of the GPU.

      Side note: The EK Nucleus will tell you that it doesn’t fit if you look at the pump block dimensions; what it doesn’t tell you is there is a decorative cover on the pump block that is magnetic and can be removed, and I can confirm that it does fit!

    If you fit an Asus B650e-i , you will have to install the 2nd M.2 ( if you wish another m.2 drive) before you fit the motherboard in . I had to get the dremel out as you cannot fit a 2nd m.2 once the motherboard is fitted or enjoy taking the PC apart to remove . Very Poor design and not thought out case .. AN NZXT Kraken 240 will fit and not touch the panel

    Clearly, I'm not "most people". But the H2O is my fallback solution, if all fails (currently preparing the Shiny Snake S400 for a saw fight with a Dremel 8620, for added liquid cooling with the SilverStone Vida 240).

    Did the fan grilles make it hard to screw down the radiator bracket? I tried fan grilles on my build and they seemed to be pushing against something, it may have been the AIO tubes.

    • @SmallBoxCentral
      @SmallBoxCentral  8 місяців тому +1

      the radiator bracket screws in to the opposite side of the radiator, so the fan grilles won't affect it - they do make it a bit tighter with the tubes though

    I just built a system in this small itx case (black version), it’s pretty easy to setup but cable management is not the best and zero air flow. Only
    The GPU and PSU are taking air in but I guess that’s the compromise with such a small footprint. Looks great on desk. I managed to jam in an AMD 7800x3d (0.005 undervolt) paired with a NZXT 240 AIO cooler, MSI MPG B650I Edge Motherboard, Corsair SFX 650 PSU and a MSI RTX 4070 Ti Ventus 3x. GPU just fits and there is no room for any intake fans. Temps are good to my surprise, CPU peaks at 68 degrees and GPU peaks at high 50s under load.
    It would have been awesome if they made it longer so it can have at least one 140mm fan out the front of the case.
    Next build will be in McPrue Apollo S case, gonna put this case in early retirement.

    • @saulghim2661
      @saulghim2661 9 місяців тому

      I love the size but yeah, it's kinda unfortunate how much the CPU radiator gets hammered by having to exhaust all the hot air everything else is putting out. I might have to spring for a case that is a touch larger so I can try to avoid that situation with additional fans or a better configuration where the CPU and GPU can exhaust their air separately.

      Not feasible for a niche market SFF case which will never sell millions of units, because it’s rather expensive to make a case of this quality out of precision cut steel and aluminium. Cheaper ITX cases do exist, just don’t expect this level of build quality
