- The Shop is finally built and it’s time to install the roll up doors! Unfortunately, my contractor quit before the job was done so I had to install the 12’ x 12’ roll up doors by myself. Check out this video to see exactly how I went about installing the doors on my own, learn from my mistakes and check out the shop once the doors are installed!

Great to see your progress John. Waiting to see you sitting at your sewing machine in the shop.
Thanks! Us too!
Nice. I opted for double sliding doors. I have an I beam for lifting things across the front. A hanger style door was ruled out in case I need to park in front.
Excellent job installing those doors. Do you remember what a 12' door cost. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! It was around $4,500 for two 12' x 12' roll up doors and two man doors here in AL. Sorry I don't have the itemized price list. The expensive part was installation, people wanted around $8k just to install them. Hence why I ended up just installing them myself.
@@Theluckyneedle Thanks.
Hi John, nice to see you back, I'm just catching up with what you've been up to over the last few months.
That's a nice job, well done & thanks for sharing! I am glad it is not just me that has to correct manufacturer errors, I do wonder what "quality control" actually means!
Greetings from the UK!
Right?! Glad to know I'm not the only one either! Thanks for watching!
Did your chain system get purchased from a different company? My rollup doors just have pull cords. I really want a chain system. My doors came with the building so I don't know who makes them. Regardless, most of these rollup doors are the exact same design. So any info on the chain system would be awesome.
Our chain system came with the door. It's a Janus commercial door if you want to look them up, but we don't have much more info than that - sorry! It is very nice to have though, we totally get wanting to have a chain system.
Oh yeah. Went to Mesa sales last week, it’s a flooring store now. No automotive stuff at all, no foam, no canvas of any kind.
Oh wow! Ya it's been a while since I've worked in AZ.
