    I have had PPPD since i was 16, i’m 20 now. i’ve fallen out with most of my closest friends because they’ve failed to care to understand my condition, and have told me to just ‘deal with the dizziness it’s not that bad’ …i’ve felt so lonely and isolated. Knowing that other people similar to my age are experiencing what i have gone through and continue to struggle with, brings me a lot of comfort.
    Thankyou ❤️

    I've been dizzy for about 3 years now. It was march before my 20th birthday and i got up off a chair, and i just felt like i was at sea during a storm in a tiny boat. literally the scariest experience of my life. i'm at the point now (and have been for over a year) to literally being bed ridden because of the dizziness, and it's gotten so much worse lately. I'm so sick of it and your channel has finally given me hope! people always tell me "you'll get better" "it just takes time" and I never believed them. My doctor didn't believe me and no tests came back with anything alarming so I was never treated. But now I finally believe I will get better. Thank you sososossososo much

      Awww bless you I know how rubbish it can feel when you can’t get others to understand the struggles, it’s like they don’t take you seriously because they can’t relate- but the main thing is you’re aware of what you’re going through and making an effort to get better, you’re very strong for that and there are hundreds/thousands of people here who have your back😊

    I am experiencing everything you've described and I am glad I am not alone in this. One thing i noticed is if you "confront" whatever that is making you dizzy, for example doing the dishes.... keep doing it and your body will habituate and get used to it. The biggest hurdle is not doing anything and then this will start to eat you up. Another example is walking. I would go for a walk and feel off balance but the more I do it, the better it gets. Breathing helps and Ashwagandha has helped me to stay calm.

So I finally did and did the technique I mentioned, and now it’s not feeling weird anymore! My brain adjusted. But yes, other head movements still do. But with the right side laying position, I had stayed there. @@EMJAYstyles hi back!! You’re so sweet! So I believe I’ve had pppd for the past 6 years. But then there was a cyst in my brain found recently that was growing and bleeding. So they removed it in April and I went from being able to walk (just pretty drunk feeling, etc), to post surgery where I’ve only used a walker. I was expected to have dizziness (major increase for me), but it’s still there. A side note, stay away from those dizzy patches hospitals put behind your ear for nausea. It adds to the dizziness.). So there’s confusion about if it’s the brain issue or not. My surgeon has not heard of pppd. I had another mri yesterday - I’m always put out because of anxiety) and there’s more issues now and I have to wait to have the report explained to me. Anyway, (this is getting long!) I’m going to treat it as if it’s pppd because it probably is, with your program, and I have a new PT. I know I can heal with work. Also, I’ve been super inactive for months, so when you said that, and how challenging it was for you and you got better, it makes me feel like I can too.

    I have bppv and have had it since I was 12 or so after a skateboarding head injury. It started as me feeling this intense spinning sensation when looking up or looking down. It settled after a couple of years, but definitely always lingered very minimally for sure. Hit you head again last year lmao and here I am again at step one 😔. I get dizzy when laying in certain position, i do the eply manuever and that type of dizziness went away, but the subtle like feeling unbalanced dizziness remained. It’s terrible and can sometimes be debilitating. Hate it I’d rather lose my leg than feel this

    • @EMJAYstyles

    Wow, I think I may have this. My story began back in 2017. I randomly caught Glandular Fever a week later I started to feel off balance 24/7. Kept having severe anxiety over silliest things like walking on the pavement next to cars in case I fall over etc. However I could cycle to work and the dizziness wasn't there. Eventually I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. Put on Levothyroxine and the dizziness faded. No exercises etc. Was fine for three years last year I became dizzy again. Blood test showed dosage needed to be raised. So I was put up 125mcg again dizziness faded. Now in march just gone dizziness returned they are saying I am now overmedicated. Yes its a awful condition to have. Im sure I have this as the anxiety cycle is there as well. Thinking you will pass out or embarass yourself while out then that fear stays and makes you more dizzy. since lowering my dose my dizziness has improved but is still there. Yes when lying or sitting it feels like your body has waves going through it. When walking at my worst I was having to judge every step I made. In case I fell over.

    Am I crazy or is PPPD just another diagnosis for the symptoms caused by the release of adrenaline that's being caused by an flaming anxiety attack. One thing our failing health care system loves to do is make up new diseases. I guess what I am trying to say is PPPD is one of the symptoms our bodies exhibit with chronic anxiety and that we have now become afraid to experience.

      I don’t really get dizziness anymore no, and I haven’t actually done the exercises in over a year now but because I now work in an office I’m getting my movement in by walking/travelling etc which I think stops it from returning. Yes I do get on trains but it’s only a short journey. I haven’t been on a plane in a couple years and am terrified of flying in general, but when I last went on holiday I did struggle on the flight, but my dizziness was still persistent at the time. Hey, there are a lot of factors that can affect your dizziness recovery process which will vary from person to person. I myself actually used to experience flare ups in my symptoms like once a month, and gradually these got less and less. In the short term your body is still adjusting to these movements and naturally will create anxiety and sometimes temporary worsening of symptoms- but stick with them because they are effective exercises but the results are often shown over a longer period of time :)

    The dizzyness, nausea, weights in head pushing you, feeling unable to get to the bathroom or go outside.... all the things my son is suffering with. I'm wondering did you have any type of wabbling vision, just when everything is slightly moving although you're keeping your head/body still? He's experiencing this every waking moment.
    We try to walk but he's very cautious, the nausea is overwhelming outside.
    How did your mum cope? I'm managing to hold it together but there have been a few times I've nearly broken down over it. I'm 99% of the time positive and upbeat but it is hard.

    • @EMJAYstyles
      @EMJAYstyles  2 роки тому +3

      I wouldn't say I felt like things around me were moving, but I did feel like I was shifting/moving when I wasn't. Especially if I was sat still or laying down the movement sensations became more obvious. Tbh she was really supportive throughout although I was living in a university house at the time so she wasn't seeing me go through it everyday. But I just pushed through it and didn't show people how much I was struggling so it probably didn't look that bad to people from the outside perspective if that makes sense! Just offer him reassurance and help him develop coping mechanisms such as breathing, rational thinking etc and keep exploring treatment options as there is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel:)

      Has he been tested for everything and / or seen a neurologist? He may have vestibular migraine or it could be pppd. The worst thing he can do is sit still apparently even though it’s very hard. I’m sorry your struggling also I can understand why. I have bad anxiety and a lot of these symptoms and my husband was having to do everything for a while. It puts a lot of pressure on the family that’s for sure. Just try your best to be supportive but encouraging

    I’ve had this for three years, but I haven’t gone to a Doctor. It’s very rarely the room spinning. Mine can be feeling like someone has picked me up by head and dropped me on my feet, feeling like I’m on a chair that’s being flipped (that pulling feeling), and feeling like I’m lurching forward but I’m still.
    We have a tiny sink in the downstairs bathroom and I can’t use it because the depth perception of it sets off my dizziness. Also, if I’m in a lift, I can’t zone out, otherwise it won’t register what’s going on and start up dizziness.

Still dizzy woozy feeling in head weird when walking ex specially outside walking. I feel like a bobble head eyes feel really weird. Last VNG test showed oculomotor abnormality. Been to many drs. Know one seems to know what’s going on. I have suspicious idea it might be pppd now. Anxiety is high. Just want to feel better. I walk and stay active. Had light sensitivity wore glasses and hat for a while. Don’t have to anymore. I had migraines really bad but been two months since my last major ones. I get headaches on occasion but short lived. Eyes feel like a camera. Pt showed both eyes skip a bit to each side. What is a timeframe for recovery?
    Thanks
    Eyes are the worst. Feel like they jump like a visual vertigo. This sound right

Yeah the timeframe can really range I’ve had people comment that they’re better in 2 months, it probs depends on a number of factors like how long you’ve had the dizziness, your mindset, anxiety levels, commitment to recovery etc- for me it was 7-8 months but then I relapsed, a lot of it is your lifestyle too! Wow eyes feeling like a camera is such a good way of explaining it!!

I know i have this problem PPPD because of a long time focus on all weird sensations i felt in my head, and not wanting this, and focussing more and more on it and also getting more fear about it..so i understand trying to embrace all the sensations i feel during the Day...but why i have more balance problem after laying down a While...i dont really understand why this is...

      Hey! Yes I do from time to time, i can’t say that it impacted my dizziness but it did help take the edge off my anxiety on days where I knew I’d have a lot of stress such a social events etc- hope that helps!☺️

    Does pppd affects the brain if left untreated

    • @EMJAYstyles
      @EMJAYstyles  2 роки тому

      I don't think so, but can't say 100% I imagine if left untreated it just stays the same but through naturally becoming more anxious and developing avoidance behaviour symptoms could become more intense/functioning becomes harder

      Hi, unfortunately I'm not a doctor so can't diagnose you with anything. But no I didn't take any medication to recover, I just did the Vestibular rehabilitation exercises at home which got rid of my dizziness after about 7 months. First thing to do is get tests done to rule out other conditions

      What you describe is exactly what I'm experiencing... The boat floating floor bouncing hell... After the panic attack.... Did you take any medications like benzodiazepines / xanax?
