Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost the login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
The way I make my ham is to score it and then stud it with whole cloves. Then make a mixture of Orange marmalade and stone ground mustard. One jar of each. Slide the ham into a Reynolds oven bag and pour the mixture on top of it. DELICIOUS 😋!!!
Best ham recipe I have found, tweaked and use is Noreen’s kitchen, balsamic glazed ham. It only uses about 2 tablespoons of vinegar as well as seasonings, maple syrup, brown sugar and Dijon mustard. I tweaked it by heating up the ham in about 4 cups of ginger ale before you start glazing it. I also add about 8 pieces of crystallized ginger chopped up and a 1/4 tsp of ground ginger to the glaze. It’s delicious and gets raves whenever I take it to gatherings. 😄
I cook my ham in the oven- I rub spicy brown mustard on the outside, then coat it with brown sugar and then pour apple juice on top. It is seriously amazing
I always make our holiday ham this same way and everyone always requests me to make it for the family gatherings. So soo yummy! I hope you try it and I’m sure you and your family will love it as much as we do! The leftovers are also amazing! 1 fully-cooked, bone-in ham (I use a 10 lb ham) 1 1/4 cups packed dark brown sugar 1/3 cup pineapple juice 1/3 cup honey 1 large orange, juiced and zested 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place ham in a roasting pan. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, honey, orange juice, orange zest, Dijon mustard, and ground cloves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Set aside. Bake ham in preheated oven uncovered for 2 hours. Remove ham from oven, and brush with glaze. Bake for an additional 30 to 45 minutes, brushing ham with glaze every 10 minutes.
I LOVE that you make those chocolate mint brownies!! We call them Fudge Mint Bars in my family but the recipe is very very similar. My step-mom has made these every Christmas since before I can remember off a recipe passed down to her from her mom, and she passed the recipe down to me as well. She even serves them in her new cookie shop! Such nostalgia haha :)
We always fix a Cook's brand ham (the butt portion and it has a bone in it). I get mine at Walmart And they are always a good size. I live in Texas so I don't know if you have them in Iowa. All I do is wrap that ham in heavy duty foil and bake in a 200 degree oven for 6-7 hours. When I take out of oven, I open it up and let it cool some then transfer into another container and cover with foil and refrigerate. It is easier to slice when cold. These ham's are lightly smoked and and there is no need to season it with anything. Everyone always requests my hams. You can easily freeze any leftovers and i always leave a little on the bone and use that when I cook either a pot of pinto beans or big white butter beans and that's all the seasoning you need in those.
My aunt used to smear pnut butter on her ham before she baked it… delish!!! Heat it up a bit, rub creamy or crunchy peanut butter all over it, finish cooking… really really good! I remember it all these years later!!♥️‼️
For the broccoli salad try steaming it just a little then cool in the fridge. I do this when I make my salad and I just find it absorbs the dressing flavor so much more and it's easier to digest 😊
I thought I was bad at holidays! Girl, you cooked your ass off! I'm sure they all appreciated it, you are an excellent cook and you try so hard to please family! Sounds like me! That's why they all like to come to your house! I grew up in a home like that, my mom was a great cook and holidays were always special. I managed to continue the legacy which has always been appreciated and will be remembered by my children and grandchildren. That's what you are doing, creating memories. Hard work, but worth it, it's a great way to show your love.
We always get the spiral cooked ham from Aldi and use the glaze that comes with. Bake is in the oven per the package directions, it's great. Not overly salty. Yum.
I like spiral ham in the crockpot covered with brown sugar and can of sliced pineapple. Slow cook until heated through. And I love broccoli salad. So delicious.
My husband makes the best ham!!! He makes it in a bag in the oven. He buys the spiral sliced & rubs brown sugar all over it & adds apple cider to the bottom of the bag. Sometimes we also add orange slices to the top. Best part is.... he hates ham & won’t even try it & EVERYbody else lives it.
Such a great video! I share your holiday traditional dishes! I will try the manicotti! Our corn casserole is like yours only we add green chilis. So good! Thanks for sharing! Those brownies sound divine!!!
That coconut cream pie looked so yummy, I always make my grandmas recipe, mostly we put Meringue on top. Bit sometimes I'll put whipped cream. Speaking of which, That cinnamon Macchiato thing you got from Starbucks, didn't the cream stuff remind you of meringue (I tried it last week, at least that's what I thought) 😂. Sorry, I'm a Ramblin 😂. Everything looked SO yummy! I miss big family dinners...Have a great week! Hugs~Chelle
Jen, for someone who likes to prep ahead this might come in handy. I’ve gotten in the habit of making ham bone broth / stock every now and then to cook beans in...and I guess you could use it for ham gravy. I just put 3 or 4 smoked ham hocks in the IP covered with water and cook it for about 30 minutes. Then I pick off all of the usable meat and add the bones and scraps back to the IP along with any herbs or spices I want to use. Then pressure cook it again for an hour or so. I strain the broth & freeze it in quarts for later use. I add the ham meat to some and leave some just broth. Better than bouillon also makes a jarred ham soup base. I picked up a jar but haven’t tried it yet.
Yummy! I admire your passion! Entertaining is overwhelming at times! I cook my ham in slow cooker and I buy same one you do but I add a small can of crushed pineapple to the glaze mix and then kinda spread through the slices. It makes a lot of broth in slow cooker.
My family for years has done mustard and brown sugar for the ham and either smoke it or throw it in the deep pit with the other meat and it is delicious.
That stuff is liquid gold at our house, save it all winter long for all the summer time salads. Great video!! Thanks for all your great work and ideas.
For the ham- equal parts honey and brown sugar heated as a glaze(it should be really runny) and pour it directly into the ham. In a 350 oven for two hours, basted every 30 minutes with glaze. Works like a charm🙂
i make pasta sauce in my instant pot in 10 min on manual (or pressure cook depending on model) all the time. I saute a bit of garlic and onion and then I add 2 cans tomatoes, some tomato paste, a touch of sugar, some Italian seasoning and a cup of water and put it on manual for 10 min. I cook the pasta right in the sauce too with extra water added. My family loves it and I only have one pot to clean.
Thanks for the Wonderful video! You worked so hard and everything looked Delicious! You have made me super hungry lol. :) I am for sure going to try the brownies and the coconut pie. :) My family loves the corn casserole, too. I think we've made that every year for every holiday. :) Thank you for sharing your Amazing Easter Dinner. :)
YUM! Everything looks delicious! I always host our family holiday dinners and I love it. I know it’s more work but I really enjoy it. My family will love those chocolate mint brownies. I’m definitely going to make them next time everyone is over. Thanks Jen for the ideas!!
Jen this was amazing! You are one fantastic hostess. I love seeing what different countries eat for special occasions too. In Australia we typically have ham at Christmas time. Ours comes with the leg bone still in & the outer skin layer. It’s cured (so cooked) I usually peel the outer skin off (& discard) then score the fat in a fancy diamond pattern. We stud it with whole cloves & baste it with either orange marmalade OR orange juice. Then bake it for an hour or so. It’s delicious & is great hot or cold. I’ve never thought of making ham gravy...that’s a brilliant idea & I’m trying that this year. Thank you for all your hard work filming, editing & sharing your life with us. Blessings to you & your family 😘
I make a brownie that is very similar to yours, and I put them in the refrigerator after I put the icing on so when I put the chocolate layer on; it spreads more easily. Great video, thanks for sharing 😊
Hi Jen, Thank you for investing so much time in these videos. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on January. I am currently going through chemo therapy treatments & spending a lot of time at home. I have a great support group. My Jesus is so AWESOME on how He takes care of me. Your videos keep me entertained & help me get through the hard days. Your dedication to cooking is inspiring, keep up the good work.
Trisha Yearwood’s baked ham with brown sugar glaze is the easiest ham but it is so amazing! I’ve been making it for a few years now and my family loves it!
I’ve never had ham gravy before; looked amazing! I’ll attempt to make ham gravy in the future! Girl you had to be so exhausted cooking all morning and hosting a holiday all in the same day! I clean my home and cook what I can the day prior and finish up the day of the holiday.
Everything looked delicious. I love green bean casserole. It's my favorite. My husband makes our ham with a brown sugar glaze and pineapple stuck on the sides. It's soooooo good. Thanks for always sharing the recipes you use. I might have to try and make that broccoli salad and brownies.
I love the holiday cook-alongs! Jiffy corn casserole is my absolute favorite...my daughter and I can (but resist!) easily eat a whole one. It is good with diced jarred jalapenos if you ever serve it with Mexican food. Your broccoli salad looks great! I'm going to give that a try! Thanks for sharing!!
Dang, girl, you worked so hard! I always learn something new from you! Next holiday I’m definitely making the mashed potatoes in the Instant Pot! I do have to tease you though for not scraping all the chocolate, or pie filling, or mushroom soup mix out of the bowls! You would yield more and it wouldn’t go down the drain! 🙈 Come on, Jen!! 😂
Honestly only ham that I have cooked that was so juicy and not dried out is one of the whole hams that is not spiraled or cut in half and are not already cooked...then we just wrap it in foil and cook it in oven at 350 over night.....I have never been able to get a spiral ham to cook without it being dry!!
ham recipe : pineapples and cherries. you get the pineapple in the can with the juice and put them in between the layers of ham and stick the cheeries in with the ham so good :)
Thank you for taking the time to share your family traditions. Excellent video. Way to go!....Now...can you kindly courier a brownie or two my way.....to Canada?
This ham recipe is our families favor... Coca Cola Ham 1 Canned Ham (Dubuque) Cloves 1 Can of Coke Score the top of the ham and place cloves in all the cuts. Pour coke all over the top of the ham and place in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. Baste every 20 mins. with the coke and juices that are in the pan. When the ham is caramelized, it's done. This makes for great leftovers!!! We make sandwiches using Hawaiian Rolls.
I have an 8 qt Instant Pot. If they took it from me I don't think I could cook. I use it several times a week. I also have a 6 qt and a 3 qt but I don't use the 6 qt much. That corn casserole looked so good. I am going to try to make that. Thanks for your videos. I love them.
Wow you can cook all the food looks delicious I am going to try that brownie and coconut custard pie recipe I don’t think they sell the chocolate syrup in can anymore ty for your recipes
Everything looked absolutely delicious! I love holiday dinners with all of the different side dishes. Green bean casserole and corn casserole are my fav! And that manicotti...yum! I usually cook my ham in the crock pot. I pack brown sugar on the top and pour over a can of Dr. Pepper. I sometimes add pineapple if I'm feeling extra! 😊 I hope your mother in law is recovering and is on the mend. You knocked it out of the park with this dinner! Conner is such a cutie patootie! Thanks so much for sharing your process. You are freaking hilarious! Love and squishy hugs!
I was lazy one year and didn’t want to turn the oven on in the summer. So I took the and added a little chicken broth between and 1/8 and 1/4 cup a few pats of butter and some brown sugar. I don’t measure sorry. I put the ham in the slow cooker poured my mixture over the top and would Baste it every thirty or when I remembered. Put the slices down first then I turned it over for the rest of the time. Then I take the package that comes with the ham I take it out glaze it and it rests for 10 to 15 minutes. My daughter in law who doesn’t like a spiral ham loved it. This year well my ham fell right off the bone taking it out. Everyone loved it. I love the corn casserole, but we don’t have it much no one else cares for it. My family staple at all holiday dinners is bake beans and my DIL’s staple is cheesy potatoes. Everything looked beyond amazing. TFS love these videos.
Love these videos!! Can’t wait to try your version of corn casserole. The recipe I have calls for cheddar cheese too. And the cheese manicotti looks delicious!!!
Loved the video!! I admire your attitude when making all of that food. I would get super stressed and be spinning around like a cyclone. You seemed to have complete control and just plugged thru the to do list just fine. I admire that!
Great video! I usually buy 1/2 boneless ham. I put it in slow cooker with brown sugar, mandarin oranges with 1/2 the juice, pineapple chunks with 1/2 the juice, and half a jar of maraschino cherries with some juice. Cooked on high for maybe 1 1/2 hours. We then use the juice from the slow cooker as gravy. (Obviously we know it’s thin.) Then when stored we include the liquid. It’s delicious plus it frees up the oven for other things. Btw all your recipes looked yummy! Also don’t know if you’re aware, but Better than bouillon makes a ham broth; which is good.
Jen Chapin They make a lot of different better than bouillons, but the ham one is super hard to find. I think I found it at my Giant Eagle. I’m on Ohio so don’t know if you have Giant Eagle. I thought you found mafalda macaroni at your Hyvee. We don’t have Hyvee here. Let me know if you find the ham one! Maybe I could help. My family loves your channel!!!
My mom always does baked ham with cloves. She also bakes it in a paper grocery bag in a baking dish. I have no idea why she does it but I assume she learned it from my grandmother because she also bakes ham in a paper bag lol
I always buy a bone in smoked ham and boil it for 2-3 hours at least, usually 4 hours though - then I make my own glaze with brown sugar, flour or corn starch, pineapple juice and top with pineapple pieces if you wish or round pineapple rings, then I totally cut up and de-bone the ham in the roaster, poor glaze over and bake for a couple more hours - you talk about tender when it's done and less salt from all the boiling. Your pie and brownie dessert looks delish - I just may have to try those. Thanks for sharing, xo.
For people who don’t like the raw onion flavor like in the broccoli salad, use your microplane or grater for your onion and it’s more like a paste and no one bites into a big piece of onion.
Enjoyed the video. I've never had a corn casserole. Going to try it soon. Everything looked great. How come your husband never pops in a video? I'm sure everyone would love to meet him.
Hey Jen, If you are looking for a better Parmesan cheese try the Parmigiano Reggiano they sell at Costco. It is awesome and has way more taste than the packaged ones from the grocery store. You do have to grate it, but it freezes well and the additional work is well worth the taste. The grating has become my husbands job! 😉 You are a fun girl and I am going to try your Coconut Cream pie recipe, thank you!
Where's the broccoli salad?!
I left it in the fridge! So annoyed with myself! At least we have leftovers 😂
I don't have a recipe to link. I know it called for honey too.
@@Jen-Chapin oh shit!! I've done that too!
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..?

You should do a recipe blog for all the recipes you don’t have a link to but want to share. And you can share all your favorites.

A picnic ham baked slow and slow until it falls apart is delicious. My mom makes them
Save the sweet pickle juice to add to potato salad dressing or anything you add sweet relish too!
That’s a great tip!
That stuff is liquid gold at our house, save it all winter long for all the summer time salads. Great video!! Thanks for all your great work and ideas.
What a beautiful meal, I didn't see the broccoli salad? it looked so yummy. I love your kitchen.
Gah! I totally forgot to put it out I was so mad at myself! We have lots of leftovers though 😜
I also add cauliflower to my broccoli salad. Which its like pasta salad. Whatever you want to add. Love it.

Thank you I will check this out!
This year I mixed the glaze packet with bourbon :) Also I do it in an electric roaster to save oven space.
I use a bag to cook the ham. Heats faster and stays so juicy.
I’m going to try this!
We smoked our ham and it came out delicious. What a spread you made!
Wow you got a lot done quickly! What a delicious gathering!

Everything looked delicious :D Hope you had an awesome Easter!

Wow you can cook all the food looks delicious I am going to try that brownie and coconut custard pie recipe I don’t think they sell the chocolate syrup in can anymore ty for your recipes
I have watched this video twice you are so talented thank you for sharing. I am making the tomato sauce this weekend with meatballs can't wait!
That will be good!!
We call your corn casserole scalloped corn...one of our staples on holidays too!
That ham sounds really good!
The Pioneer Woman has a great ham glaze.
Inside egg hunt crazy fun!!😜
I also like the clear American waters but they are sweetened with aspartame so I just try to get something similar
I'm always amazed in how much you get done in one day.
A bag of Frozen (but thawed) french cut green beans make a delicious green bean casserole.
Ahh..super cute family and your meals always look so delicious! You are so inspirational. Love your videos
I did not know about that ham broth, I’m going to look for that!
Thank you! I will def let you know if I can’t find it :)
Def doing the brownies, manicotti, & corn and broccoli salad!!! Looks yum!!!!👍🐶💞
You are a freaking queen! Everything looks super kick-ass and you killed it!! 😎
Try topping the corn casserole with shaved parmesan!! 😍
My mom always does baked ham with cloves. She also bakes it in a paper grocery bag in a baking dish. I have no idea why she does it but I assume she learned it from my grandmother because she also bakes ham in a paper bag lol
Oh wow that’s super interesting!
That sounds so good!!!
Excellent video. Everything looked delicious.
What a great menu. We always have scalloped potaroes with baked ham. No gravy needed!
Jen you are fabulous everything looked yummy!
Thanks for sending me this video.... now this family can hush about manicotti lol
Boom!
For people who don’t like the raw onion flavor like in the broccoli salad, use your microplane or grater for your onion and it’s more like a paste and no one bites into a big piece of onion.
This is a great idea!
Love these recipes!! I’m definitely making that pie and brownies ❤️❤️ thanks Jen
Enjoyed the video. I've never had a corn casserole. Going to try it soon. Everything looked great. How come your husband never pops in a video? I'm sure everyone would love to meet him.
I love when you do these types of videos. You're a rockstar!!! 😊
Thank you!!
You can freeze egg whites for a meringue later xx
Loveeee this video!!!!! Love all your videos!!!! Thank you for all that you do 😁😁😁
I love watching your videos. You are definitely living your best life. ❤❤
