I have the SE 1, and I am thrilled with it. It does everything at a reasonable speed, yet you always wonder if you should update because your device may become antiquated, but in this case, I am right up to par. In Canada the new SE 2 is going for $329 plus tax and I thought that was pretty pricy . I didn’t want to spend that much and end up not liking it. I buy a used se for $180. So far I really enjoy it. After watching this video I’m glad I went with the se and saved the money
Main reason I just ordered the SE2 is, my SE1 battery is at 79% with over 840 cycles, and the display has giant crack, making the center no longer working to touches, and I heard the cost to "repair" it will result in them replacing it with a refurbished one, and the cost isn't much less than the SE2. I don't think it's worth paying the premium for the S10 or S9 either, as I don't need the premium features
I got the SE in January 2022, and I’m not planning on getting the SE2. I’m pretty happy with my SE, it’s fast, battery life is great, and the SE2 is almost the same. Just for a chip that opens app a tiny bit faster, I’m not gonna change. Gonna wait for the next Apple Watch SE, curious what upgrades that one will have. Btw, great review 👊🏼👊🏼
@@NicoScrugli 100% agree with this statement. For newcomers yes, choosing SE 2 is the logical choice but for existing SE owners, majority don't seem the need to upgrade just because it has crash detection.
I was considering getting the SE2 as my first Apple Watch, but decided to get the non-cellular Nike Series 7 instead. Reasons included always on, dust resistance, non-plastic back and fast charging. I think I made the right decision, even though it was more expensive.
Good choice. I have the SE1 and love it to death as it’s a good watch for a good price, however recently my dad wanted to buy a apple watch and I helped him get a S7 for around 200-300 via facebook. He made the right choice and the difference is night and day.
@@sanjefff I was able to get my 7 from a UK department store after the new ones were released. I always shop there for Apple stuff cos they offer a 2 year guarantee.
I have the original SE (44mm) and the newest Fitbit Charge 6 (their most advanced hear rate sensors) -- If you're interest in tracking your heart rate during activity and throughout the day, the SE is still the best option. Its only a few beats off (ex: 3-5) from the accuracy of the Fitbit, but the SE also offers you *ALL* of those extra options (too many to list) in addition.
The SE 2 is my first Apple Watch and I would have upgraded for the fall detection which is why I finally bought an Apple Watch. That plus am disappointed in the iPad 10 so that’s on hold for now.
I'm new to Apple and it's my secondary ecosystem. I just purchased the SE2 for pretty much the same reasons you listed. I'm impressed, Wear OS has a lot of catching up to do.
I recently switched from android to apple and as a starter watch have been given an apple watch series 3 at 38mm but am currently considering an upgrade. The two I have been looking at are a brand new SE gen 2 44mm or a used series 7 45mm as they are of similar price but have since been offered an original SE at a knockdown price, any input welcome 🙂
I had an old iphone 7 plus and it could not pair with SE2, so I bought SE1 instead last week. The price was good, but the options for brand new ones were limited, so I ended up paying for a cellular 44mm SE1 when I really wanted a GPS SE2 (the price for both is about the same). Now I am getting a newer iphone, which can pair with SE2. Should I upgrade since I dont need the cellular feature and this is 20% faster but I expect would be more future proof as well (which is the main benefit)?
Not gonna lie I got the 2 versions and I Think that you should go for the first generation because of the price. I’d say whichever size looks better on you. I was able to try on all sizes and colours at my local Apple Store. I originally thought I’d like the darker colour but, after trying it, it just looked wrong. The size surprised me too. Went for the 41 cos the larger size looked wrong. The Ultra’s size/bulk would be a definite “no” for me.
Damn cheaper material than China stuff. Well, looks like the SC's better. I mean who cares? How much a watch weighs? I mean usually the heavier or the watch. The more it costs the better it is
I brought the iWatch SE 1 for my mother and she loved it. She doesn't drive and not a tech person. So this is more then enough for her Motherday gift.

Yup! I purchased two as gifts for family members.
I’ve seen a lot of info re Walmart and Best Buy bargains, especially round Black Friday. Unfortunately, the UK has neither.
Yep. I got mine there. I don’t need to spend four to $500 for a watch that includes just a couple better features.
Upgrading from Series 5 (GPS) to the SE 2 (Cellular) to disconnect from the phone, get out on bike rides more easily, and get the crash detection.

The second gen with a line is $100 on T-Mobile right now
