Summary_ Design and Colors: Series 9 introduced a new pink color. SE2 uses a plastic back, making it lighter and cheaper. Sensors and Display: Series 9 and 8 have more advanced sensors than SE2. Series 9 display is twice as bright as Series 8 and dims more efficiently in low light. Chip Performance: Series 9 has the new S9 chip, significantly faster than the S8 chip in Series 8 and SE2. Battery Life: Series 9 has improved battery life, lasting longer than SE2, especially with cellular use. New Features: Series 9 introduces a double-tap feature for easy control and an ultra-wideband chip for better connectivity. Recommendation: For a budget option, get a refurbished Series 8 over SE2. For longevity and performance, invest in Series 9. The Series 9 is recommended for its superior chip, better battery life, and new features, making it a worthy upgrade despite the higher cost.
Exactly this... some people really need to rethink their choices. Not that I'm against a Series 7/8/9... whatever. But it mostly profits those who really have health problems. Always-on is just some luxury thing, that also drains your battery faster. The watch turns on when you flick your wrist anyway, and that's the only time you'll look at your watch. Before spending so much on Series with smaller screen and GPS only, it would make more sense to spend the extra cash for a SE2 with bigger screen and cellular. If you need cellular, that is.

I ended up going with the Series 8. I was able to order an aluminum 45mm Series 8 for 40% less than the equivalent Series 9 would be. While the 9 has a few interesting features I’m not seeing the value in paying a lot more since the health tracking sensors are the same. Also, there are rumors that Apple is trying to add glucose and or blood pressure monitoring to the Watch. Hopefully we’ll see one of those sensors on Series 10. I’m planning on trading in when we get a “real” upgrade to the health tracking so I’d rather go cheaper on this generation of health sensors.
I did the same had a series 4 but battery life tanked past month since os10, bought series 8 45mm new for 30% off original price 👌🏽 keep it as long as possible good 3 years by then Apple may have innovated something finally
just picked up a silver stainless steel 8, 45mm for less than $400 on amazon. couldn't be more excited. excellent, renewed condition with 100% battery health.
My question is : Will you have problems if you switch from an 41mm to an 45mm because you want a bigger screen size?I mean will there be functionality issues if the watch case is too big?
I felt that when he said “ that is absolutely insane “ I second that. My husband got me the iPhone 15 and series 9 for my birthday and I had no idea how expensive all these things have gotten 😮
If you prefer cellular, go with SE 2 or Ultra 2. SE2 is much more affordable than S9 with cellular function (+$50 for cellular function compared to +$100, already mentioned in the video). And the S series with cellular, the battery drains fast. SE does not have an always-on display, and I found SE has a better battery life compared to S. With a few hundreds more than S9+Cullular, Ultra has the ultimate battery, and the cellular is built-in and is sufficient for one day with heavy workouts and cellular usage. S9 is definitely not.
I have the Apple Watch 8 45mm and never have a battery problem if I recharge every morning while having my coffee which I always do. None of the new features in the 9 are enough to make me upgrade. Will likely wait until Watch 12+.
Damn xD yeah do it! Came from an Series 3 and chose SE2. Even THAT was a huge difference for me, so I can only imagine... going from a 0 to SE2 is even more insane.
Did you upgrade? My 4 out of no where just started struggling to make it through the day so by the time I’m off and headed to the gym I have like 10% left :/ thinking about going for the 8.
Raise your hands,if you still feel SE 2 best deal with 85% of its features what does series 8 or 9 has , I don't think there is major difference other than a few software and a keyboard and fast charging, I bought se 2 silver aluminum case, 44 mm,Gps version for 22,700 (mrp was 33k)on the last day of the great Indian festival from Amazon, last week, a real-life experience i myself don't use 50% of usage on a regular basis, I mean it won't be much of need, don't you guys feel, this is the best budget and useful watch from apple on this price🤩
Can you use the Samsung Galaxy LTE watch as a stand-alone device or only with Apple? I am looking for a device for my teenager for just phone calls and texting only.
Just took this advice and copped a renewed Series 8 + cellular for $270 from Amazon. Got pretty lucky with the battery health. I was hoping for 85% or higher and to my surprise it was at 100%. I'm assuming someone just returned it because they didn't use it. After spending a good afternoon updating everything, excited to go on a 10k run with it later this evening.

Thanks. Max. I listen to this video and bought a series 9 and it has been great. I always think I do not need a ultra 2 cause I am not some serious divers of people who run ultra marathon. I am just a person we ride bikes and play football.
i currently have a series 5, which i’ve had since early 2020. i use my watch EVERYDAY, and now the battery can barely last me through a 9 hour shift… i’m debating whether i should get a series 8 or series 9. either way, it’ll definitely be a nice upgrade.
Just picked up a 45mm series 8 cellular for $330 brand new for my mom, so the extra $200 for the equivalent series 9 was definitely not worth it in my mind. Plus my mom has never had an apple watch
I actually would not recommend a 8 or 9 or se 2 definitely not ultra. I have a series 7 it’s cheaper than all those (for the most part) great colors! And all the new stuff sensors and thin bezels a lot smaller than se 2!
In the end I went with the series 9 because I had enough in my budget and also because of the much brighter screen, double tap feature (even if it is not fully functional until this month) faster chip and also because I needed to replace my series 4 which smashed. So this time got a case for it.
The comparison between 9 and SE 2 is partially misleading, as blood oxygen, double tap or period tracking are not at all unique to the 9. Apple watch 8 has all of this, so it seems it was mentioned specifically to elevate the 9 over the SE 2. No reason to buy the new Apple watch if you want to use any of those features.
Not for me, I’m down to 20 percent on my Apple Watch 9. I have cellular and use it for music and workout and checking steps. Regular user, idk why it’s happening
I had the Ultra first gen, it was good, the only problem not much bands and cannot wear in a formal dinner, it did not match my wedding rings. I switched to fitbit sense 2 and is good but it is a pain in the ass to reconnect it takes forever to upadte with fitbit app and only has alexa. I think either 8 or 9 is good
I the series 9 wifi only, at first I was not going to get one but I realized I have the SE first gen and my battery will not last a day on a full charge and it the oldest device in my apple ecosystem, thanks for the video I normally check u and others out before I make any purchases but I got sick and tired of the battery and resetting my watch overall....

You’re wasting your money if you buy a 9 over a 8 There is little difference between the two That chip difference is so small you can’t notice Don’t listen to these Apple fanboys They are blinded by the hype
I saw a video where all Apple watches were tested for their on screen battery life. Apple Watch SE2 and Series 9 had 14 hrs compared to 10 hrs in the Series 8
Tell us you can’t afford it without telling us you can’t afford it. Aside from money, it’s obvious you haven’t used a series 9 or ultra 2 with the new chip 🤡
Thanks for the direct comparison esp with the chip comment. That stuff was not mentioned anywhere. Good review for someone trying to compare them. Se 2 looks like a huge step down in build quality with worse sensor and plastic back!
“Huge step down” I own both Apple Watch’s (44 and 45) and all I will say is that I only noticed the battery and brightness differences, for half the price in my opinion the se2 is better.
Thank you for the video. I have a question I hope you or someone can shed some light on. I have the Ultra watch and I often go out without my phone. When I am out and about the watch loses connection to cellular often (in areas with good cell connection) and I have to go into setting, mobile services to get it to re connect. When I have looked online I have found others that have reported this is issue. Has anyone else had this issue with the Ultra when using it as stand alone and does anyone know if the new Ultra has this issue or does it connect straight away out and about and keeps its cell connection? Any advice would be appreciated

This is really really helpful to me men 🙏🙏🙏🙏
DAMN, the series 9 is about a powerful as a iPhone 8-10 😮 (with transistor count ofc)
On Amazon UK the Series 8 is MORE than a new series 9 LOLOLOL
Thank you for the video. I have a question I hope you or someone can shed some light on. I have the Ultra watch and I often go out without my phone. When I am out and about the watch loses connection to cellular often (in areas with good cell connection) and I have to go into setting, mobile services to get it to re connect. When I have looked online I have found others that have reported this is issue.
Has anyone else had this issue with the Ultra when using it as stand alone and does anyone know if the new Ultra has this issue or does it connect straight away out and about and keeps its cell connection?
Any advice would be appreciated
Bring it to apple it should be under warranty to get fixed
Nice video
