This was awesome, great game, loved that you were not just willing but excited to come on and talk about it after, loved your analysis. I’ve been loving this entire speedrun but this is probably the best video to date, and you’re a huge reason why, all respect
You were awesome! I want to convey how much I enjoyed your analysis and your play, having a game against a monster like Danya can’t be easy and you played really well and really inventively.
This game reminds me of Brian Scalabrine's (NBA) quote: “I'm Closer To LeBron Than You Are To Me.” Even a CM's thought process and scheme's WAY above any of us. But what a treat on a Sunday night with this game and dual commentary.
Pump your breaks. It's a CM. That's maybe 200 ELO higher than a club player. Just because 95% people in general aren't that cerebral or athletic doesn't mean the other 5% are godlike.
The fact that they got in a call and just started analysing together seemed so wholesome and nice to me. Truly beautiful thing to see people interacting this way, both wanting to get most out of the position/experience!!
I started the Sensei Speedrun one month ago, now I've reached the (so far) end. Thank you Danya for everything, results after your videos speak for themselves
I can feel the feverish passion in Chess for both of you during the extensive analysis, great job preaching the master level perspectives to audiences all over the world!
Great video, Danya! Loved the analysis! If I can suggest something for the next time, when you are using discord if you could disable the notification sound! Because everytime you got a discord message I thought it was mine hahahah
GOTTA LOVE TWITCH CHAT and the 800's that occupy it LOL "how does a CM blunder so badly?" pretty easy- DM is playing the game and you aren't LOL everything is so simple when you have a grandmaster showing you the way
This gave me an idea for another speed run - sub analysis speed run. So Danya plays 10|0 or 15|10 against subs and then afterwards analyses the games for 10/20 mins with them, I think it could be massively instructive
It's kind of a shame the speedrun isn't ending on this game cause that was heartwarming seeing Danya make that guy's day by doing the phone call analysis with him. And it was interesting getting to hear his thought processes as well.
Since I started watching this channel I’ve been beating over-2000s on lichess with some regularity, that used to be pretty rare for me. Can’t be a coincidence! Thanks.
He is being all casual talking about this or that, which is great but my time would be up already by move ten. The only reasonable conclusion is that time works differently for him!
Wow, the Fantasy is such a side-line that Paul van der Sterren's Fundamental Chess Openings ("A new one-volume guide to all the chess openings") doesn't even mention it in passing.
I remember a game where i saw a very pretty line after i played a move but after the game i tried to look for the line and forgot which move that has the pretty line zz
Fantasy is the only thing I play against Caro as a weakish amateur. I want to be over with it quick, and Fantasy is great in that regards, you win or lose, but usually it happens quickly. So I can relate when Danya says, the position is quite flimsy, but it's the fantasy variation, what do you expect for Christ sake, 100 % this, you almost always get flimsy positions in this variation. Also, it's so illustrating about his strength, that Danya seems to be out of book soon, but calmly finds 8.Qe1, which is the best and most popular move in the variation.
isn't playing queen e6 instinctively, against the principle that the queen should be the supportive actress? It worked well concretely but i was surprised when you played it. Great game as always, thank you sensei
@@tttm4rt1n49 you can say that without degrading someone else. i especially think danya isn't pleased someone says he deserves more subs and his friends who do have them deserve less subs
@@DagarMan0 I mean he is right that danya's content is better than Levy's and he should have the subs that Levy has but I think its just a matter of time until more people find this channel really
It's a CM.. not even close to Danya's level lmao. Danya can sac a piece and still win. IMs still have a slim chance to win against a GM, especially a strong one, let alone FM, or CM even lower.
we say for the first time what it feels to play "against" Danya nad get outplayed slowly. We see everything from our sensei's perspective even in the game and in the analysis. But for the first time, we hear the opp's thoughts. I loved this, really. Becase when you hear mr's thoughts, you realize that you are on the side of a gm and how unpleasant it looks to play against a gm. Which you don't particularly realize when we were "with" him. I respect Mr as much as he respects Danya and his audience. Thanks for this nice analysis and game gentleman :) Take care everyone
Was just thinking the same thing. They would make a great cross over. Chess needs more cross overs. On 2nd thought would like to see them do hand & brain games with post analysis too.
I have had very good success since I started to play the fantasy variation. First, I think it takes black out of his comfort zone, as it is a rare variation. Also black can easily go wrong in a number of lines. I feel that the most common move of d x e4 gives white just what he wants and black rarely knows how to handle the resulting positions.
I love how Danya gets really excited when he calculates a beautiful line but instantly gets disappointed when he realizes it doesnt work 😂
I find it amazing that he calculates with his eyes closed, while I'm staring at the board and spend 10 secs looking for the F3 square alone ...

In a position like that I kind of breathe a sigh of relief that all I lose is an exchange and hopefully my pieces aren’t so trapped
Danya after 5 moves in every speedrun:
I'm out of theory. I'm on my own!
And still continues playing it 😂.
Litterly every single time!

Great fight...it was a really entertaining game to watch 👍
Thank you! Loved the video and you're a super nice person too 🙂
You should do an independent series in this format where you play a titled player and then converse with them in analysis after the game!!!
That would be amazing, having someone closer to our collective skill level explain their thought process and have it corrected could go a long way
Very good idea.

Cool idea but a bit too much to ask for Daniel imo, I don't think he has the time to do this
That’s called coaching and you have to pay actual money for that.
What's the point? Subs will never win. It will just be boring low elo players getting spanked after they make a blunder for the 4th time

Love it. So nice to see another powerhouse join you to discuss best practice.
