We are going to Italy in November for 2 weeks and cant wait to experience this country. Thank you for this helpful information!!!!
Our best meal in Rome was a little hole in the wall in Trastevere where nobody spoke English.
Went to northern italy last year and stayed in vittorio veneto. Went to cortina and venice, but in vittorio (all the food was excellent), but theres a michelin restaurant called le macine, and i still think of that meal to this day. In particular the lamb was absolutely amazing. Cant wait to make my way back there.
Great tips!! May I suggest also: ask locals what their favourite local restaurants are! As we are proud of our food, we love to let travellers and tourists to have their best experience in our own regions.
I was under the impression that they you don't want the tourists to know where the ones you really like are so they won't start crowding in.
Yummy always the best menu in Italia
The best meal I had in the Veneto was actually quite near a tourist spot in Verona, near the row of restaurants facing the coliseum there, BUT it was just tucked away down an alley. Thirty steps off the beaten path was enough for a mind-blowing meal!
Now I'm hungry!! I need some pasta!
You should visit Sardinia next time! and I can suggest you a few "Mamma mia vibes" restaurants!!

When in Rome we always go here. Antica osteria Da Giovanni by the river Tiber. Definitely local and very well priced. Menu changes daily. Doesn’t look much from the outside but really good food
Acqua Al 2 in Florence has a blueberry steak that is to DIE for!
Blueberry steak? That sounds pretty cool
How to Spot a GOOD Restaurant in Italy? ^^ Look at the parking lot at lunchtime, if there are many trucks, you will be sure that you will eat well and spend a fair amount 😄
Just so all of you tourist know: the same general rules apply to America also. The good food us with the small independently owned restaurants. America's bad reputation about food is because of the chain restaurants owned by corporations.
You are not wrong 😀
I did Rome, Naples, Sorrento, Positano and some places in Sicily and by far Sicily had the best food and Rome was very underwhelming.
My wife and I agree! Best food in Sicily, Rome not so much.
Jocelyn, I hope Mark doesn’t mind, but you are stunning and seem so sweet with the kids. Love all four of you. Keep the videos coming.
