Thanks Tim for making this video and explaining the process. Really enjoyed watching and learning!
I like how you went out of your way to prove to one persons comment that this is actually true.
Great video. Really will make me appreciate having the next perfect stick.
Fantastic video, if that were done completely in the USA cigars would cost 200% more and would not be anywhere close to as good as what we get now. Thanks for your time.
I’d like to see a video about the blending process and sampling. How do makers judge or decide which blend is best or completes their vision of what the cigar should look, feel, and taste like?
Ditto
They literally sit in their house and sample different mixes.
@@diezelvh4133I think you’re on the right track, but I bet there’s a little more to it as well
Great Video Tim.🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
The part of the process i am the most interested in is the blending process. Id love to hear more about how a blender decides on what to put in a cigar.
Shoutout to Robert Holt who honors this process and people involved, by naming one of his cigars 300 Hands
Great video Tim!!!
Excellent video Tim!
Very good content bro! Love it ! This video has made me really appreciate cigars and the love for this hobbie
When Tim says he has learned a lot about cigars making, he means Steve Saka calling him up telling him how wrong he is in a video.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 oh I can just imagine that phone call...... lol
Its funny i just got a plasencia cigar. An alma fuerte generacion v salomon to be specific and it is by far my favorite cigar so far. It’s cool to see the craftsmanship that goes into making a quality cigar.
This is pretty crazy, I just started getting interested in cigars and im pretty blown away at how much information there is for them and how long and tedious this process is.
Really puts some of those 20+ dollar stickers into perspective.
Great video. Ty. 😊
When I was at Plasencia they mentioned they measured it and it was more like 550 hands, which is crazy
Dude, you didn't even talk about the people collecting the tobacco seeds and working on hybrids, then planting the seeds and growing them when moving them multiple times to bigger containers, before planting them on the fields. It is crazy process :) but it is damn worth it! :)
Incase your wondering, fermented leaves give incredible flavor but more carcinogens. I use curing and pasteurization like the Swedish do now. I'm growing one of my favorites, Kentucky 15, this year.
Ill give ya 300 hands sir!
I don't know if I should feel insulted or intrigued
That was a fascinating video, thanks!
Tim, how does each step of the process affect the flavor of a cigar? Is it the seed, the soil, the fermentation etc? How do they consistently produce flavors like chocolate, dried fruit, graham cracker, pepper etc.
The consistency of taste comes from the type of tobacco. Most flavors are enhanced during the curing process, like fire cure, air, or steam pasteurization. And finally, how long is it fermented will make it bold and smooth etc.
Your review are my favorite for cigars. Could you do one for "girl with no name" by Deadwood?
I’m curious on how they come up with all these recipes for so many different blends, to make sure no blend tastes the same as the another blend, even though all the tobacco grows the same way, and a lot of times in the same region in the same soil?
Tim you honestly do not just make the best cigar content bro, but just the best content period.
Thanks for reposting and upgrading this! I missed it the first time around.
When they change the positions of the leaves during ferment, would you call it double or triple fermenting? What flavors do they find are either brought out or gassed off typically from each ferment? I make my own fermented wine, so naturally I'm curious. Thanks!
Does the lot 23 contain one variety or are there several varieties on that one plot
Odd question. I have four 65rh boveda packs in my tupperdor. Its the standard issue two tray Sistema deal. Can you put too many packs in your box?
Trescientos manos, amigo
How many attempts at making a blend does it take them to figure out what is going to be good?
Doubt tim, i believe his estimate of 300 hands is valid
Love the CD Fam!
5th!
Watching this will somiking a cohiba robusto
Obviously. Because you spelled smoking wrong.
@diezelvh4133 at least we can get genuine Cubans in my country
How do the workers not smoke all the good tobacco
If anyone tries to compare premium cigars to cigarettes show them this video
Tobacco for cigarettes goes through the same process. Just some of the curing and fermenting times are shorter.
You mentioned fat and skinny Tim, but we all had to discover sweaty Tim on our own
Wouldn't a "reverse retrohale" be an "inhale"? 😂
The only way to find out wasn't a cut and a light
I remember fat tim…
I heard he was more into hoagies than stogies.
This video is for the sinners and nonbelievers ❤😂😂😂
300 hands for one cigar, until AI takes over
Fat Tim, skinny Tim, I thought it would be Tim with hair.
How funny would it be if the commenter who triggered this whole thing was talking about "hands of tobacco" not human hands lol.
He's sitting somewhere going..."oops ...that was not what I meant it was a joke"
Imagine if a company released a cigar that uses 300 hands of tobacco. A smoke fit for Terrence
I was told cigars are rolled on ladies' thighs... sigh....
