Yes, thank you for this update. I will do this to my 2018 Ram 1500. Zip tape, weep holes, sweet! I will update when I get mine done! You da cat! Thanks again!
Thanks for the update! I'm doing this on my '07 this weekend. the Previous owner just ran silicone around the whole thing and it sorta worked. but the bulb went out, and now it leaks again with the new bulb.. I saw your other video and was curious how it held up! Thanks again!
I put weather stripping over the worn out gasket and siliconed mine.. I also bought a new brakelight assembly for about 60 bucks. So, in the future when a bulb goes out I plan to put the new brakelight in and probably re silicone...
I did the same thing he did here and it worked until the tail light housing itself broke and let water in again. So I got a cheap eBay one and resorted to silicone again. 😖
I have a 2009 ram 1500 third brake light leak in real bad.I replaced the whole assembly. Before I put it back I put silicone clear grease around the gasket and around the screws.Havent had a leak since
I just got mine changed by dealer, but it looks like still leaking, noticed the upper sliding window frame has 2 cracks and starting to think it's seeping along those cracks, dealer says window frame not covered and have to go to window shop to have it replaced, hmmmmmm
You the man!!!! Doing this in a hour, major storming on FL east coast, soaking my headliner:(

@@TunedRAMS Hey, wouldn't flex seal tape work just the same? I have some of that handy. Is it just like the zip tape? Thanks!

A lot of people say to silicone it but like you said, it’s tough to remove

do those light bulbs get hot? looks like theres openings on housing for the bulb to breathe?
They’re regular incandescent bulbs
Does the water run out to the outside of the truck
I made a couple more of 1/4” slots at the bottom of the weatherstripping, so if any water ever gets inside, it will run down the ZIP tape and drain
