I’m riding in between new Indy’s and classic 44 ace with stock bushings but they’re chunked out on the sides and af1’s 77 on a natas blind bag deck. I prefer the ac1 so far but living in the Midwest makes it hard with weather.
@@ccs haha doesn’t bother me. Just got my first sesh in this morning and I don’t think I’ve ever hype talked a pair of trucks in my life 😆 the turning is sooo smooth and they almost have a more solid satisfying grind. Probably that stronger aluminum. Thanks for the quick delivery on them btw. You guys rock ! 👏👏
I love ace trucks! I even broke a pair once and they emailed me back and sent me a free pair. That was years ago. They are still my favorite trucks today!
Just ordered some Aces a few days ago, stoked to get back into skating after a long break I should have never taken! And props to Matt for wearing that grandpa ass watch on a blue NATO, love that!
I’ve been riding ace on and off for 5 years. Each set previously were inconsistent. These are such a higher quality and the pivot cup does improve turns
44?? isn't it too small for that deck??.... I usually ride boards between 9.75 and 10" with indys 169. Want to try ace af1 but I'm not sure what size 66 or 77 🤔
I was thinking the same thing. I have 2 shaped 9.5 decks set up right now, one with 169's and old school slime balls 60 mm (the lip of the wheel passes the axle nut, I see a little bit of wheel) and one with the old Ace 66 running a new style wheel (Dogtown conical 58 mm - the nut sticks out past the wheel) and I can just see the nut.
Is that a DLX/Venture top bushing dang. I saw the stock bushings on these are different stiffness. I do that with my indy 159's with conicals 92a top, 94a bottom. The softer bushing under the nut makes leaning/turns respond with like a rebound, and the harder bottom bushing makes it so you can lean harder w.o power sliding too much Or blowing pop. Stock aces are the opposite and a lil softer...so you can LEAN really easy/turn. But the return from turning is slower bc the top bushing is harder. Havent ridden them and they finally make the width i ride. Cant wait to try some. Been holding out for the ace60 to come out and i got two sets of venture 6.1s before the ace 60s came out but the aces are definitely next. I ride conicals on indys bc i was used to the stage 9 and thats how the bushings were on stage 9s conical. Ive never skated stage XI bc theyre higher and had the cylinder bushing so i really didnt need an other set of indys+bushings. Ace also makes harder bushings too so i can ride them on a few sizes/shape decks and see which bushings im gonna stay with. Ive heard from the most part that the ppl that stay on the aces really like them.
Those pivot cups need a lot more checking into just in case but overall looks great. I just hate that excess wobble as a pet peeve but everything looks solid and strong.
The back of the board is a lot more narrow than the wide front. I rock 5.5 trucks on the same deck and it works beautifully. Erick Winkowski also rocks Indy 159s on his 9.75 decks because a smaller truck makes the board rotate faster when doing fliptricks, also, the carve is a bit different when using a truck that ls as wide as the widest point on the deck i believe. Go experiment! Im sure you'll find something that works for you ;^)
Wait, they changed the metal on the hanger?! That smooth kinda soft feeling of the grind is one of best parts about Ace Also, how much does the pivot cup change the feel really? I love the aces turn, am I gonna not like it now?
@@P3GProductions they claim the geometry is the same. Are you sure the wb had changed? And by how much? Have you compared new classics to new AF1s? Otherwise the bushings on the used trucks maybe compressed/worn changing the geometry a bit

Skating loose, loose, loose trucks is the best feeling 😅
He doesn’t have stock bushings in those.. No way they would wobble like that without modifying the bushings.
he has soft bones bushings with only one washer, ace trucks have long kingpin and bones bushings are small, so it is possible to achieve this effect
Those pivot cups need a lot more checking into just in case but overall looks great. I just hate that excess wobble as a pet peeve but everything looks solid and strong.
