For those wondering what truck size fits - he rides a mini logo 8.38 with risers, with his custom wheel that sticks out farther. This is equal to the Thunder 149 (both have 5.75 in hanger)

Just got my Heron 2 today. I have been waiting for this gem for years, knew someone felt like I do about directional board feel and the symmetry is so satisfying. Also going to be running the new Dragon formula wheels. Hope you help make those wheels a reality, take my money!
Its the board of been waiting for since I started skating again in 2006. Started in 1984 and ended up eventually going through about 15 Powell Peralta Mike V's. Then partied for a decade (even though im sure i had a board in the corner of my room) and when that was over wanted to skate again. Bought a popsicle, totally alien to me, but did my best with it. Rolled around ever since but couldn't get my head around it until I finally worked out I needed a square tail, something I learned everything with, but couldnt find a popsicle with a square tail. Also needed a bigger wheel base, again something that just felt right to me after 15 Mike V's. Ordered Andys new deck and I cant get over how good it is. Everything feels right. Also after doing my first ollie the word 'pop' entered my brain, something I didnt expect being 50, goofy, and with a left knee/shin bone full of metal (half pipe mishap in 20012). Hit the streets and everything came back, no complys on point, ollies feeling better than ever and confidence just came back. And for the first time in my life I now have both trucks equally set, no choice as its symmetrical, and that's a game changer for me...coming from a skater who for 35 years has had a back truck way tighter than the front. No doubt I will eat shit again but for now I'm feeling very good on this board. Its the best board I've ever skated and just feels right on all aspects. You can really feel the thought that's gone into it. Well done Andy this is another winner.
@@sessionsinparadise7357 Ah mate what a board. For me probably the best graphic ever. Ive still got one set up...when i stand on it brings back many memories...so familiar and I can do things on it I cant do on anything else. I think Andy has, by default, also created a board that I would recommend to any skaters from the 80's looking to skate again. It just feel right, the size, the concave and the wheel base while bringing us into 2022. Feel very confident on it, until I eat shit again, but will enjoy it while it lasts haha.
Bearing spacers lock the centre barrel of the bearing so only the outer barrel spins and the bearing works properly, two washers are also advised, using washers with no spacers will eventually concave your bearings, the spacers distribute the tension through the entire hanger length making the board more generally durable with stronger control..... I've a degree in analytic philosophy and had a midlife crisis 😅🫒😋
Riding with loose wheels is dangerous and probably a lot slower, it will also wear into your axel pin where the inner barrel of the bearing slowly and constantly is grinding against it 😅 I'm a total newbie, genuinely sorry condescendingly explaining this to pros (also Andy if the keep your kingpin bolt like a star of david pointing up and down with flat sides it will turn much better, having points to the side will turn wider, abd having a crooked star will make your board wander 😅👍😇🫒)
Just bought this. My kickflips are super easy now. I was expecting harder cause I went from a smaller board. Not the case at all! Same trucks, wheels, and bearings moved from old board to this deck. I'm also learning primo and darkslides now! Loving this new board!

I would always see those wheels he’s riding and I’d think to myself it’s a street and freestyle wheel and search everywhere for them I absolutely love Andy’s setup because everything makes sense.
I've been skating this board for a few months now. Love it for bowl skating! The shape really grips the feet well for carving. I found it a bit big for flat ground myself though. I am 5'3" with 8.5 - 9 size shoes. I would love to have this shape with 8.5 in the middle, 8.25 at the trucks. I hope they keep innovating!
I like the concept of not having to varial or shove your way back to the tail to set up for the next trick. Definitely gonna give it a look if I see this in the shop
Ah the conversations I would love to have with that man. He seems like such an awesome guy. Honestly, I may have bought all 3 of his flight decks, both sizes of the last shape, and finally just was able to get his new shape all in fully built completes. His wheels are also exactly what I was looking for too. I always rode with 56mm powell peralta g-slides, but having his wheel being just slightly harder changed the entire experience. It made park skating much better while still being able to get great slides on both rough terrain, and smooth concrete. This guy really changed the whole game for me.
The bearing spacers are so you can tighten down the nuts without pinching the inner bearing races together and making the bearings bind, which will make your bearings not spin as smoothly and easily, and wear out sooner.
Please do a Rowan Zorilla episode, and a Yuri Facchini, episode, please. Would love to see what more new school skaters are riding. The Jamie Foy one was amazing. I learned a lot from that.

@morenineclub do we know what width Mini Logo trucks Andy is riding with the Heron deck? 8.35 or 8.75? I know the deck's width at the truck mount is supposed to be 8.5.

This is what the site says 8.38" Trucks (with Medium Bushings) - fit 8.25 to 8.75" skateboards It looks like any is riding the 8.75 though here. I’ll watch again.
