Nice to see guys doing good things for the elderly folks in their community.

Hello there RBG!! From the sunny state if Florida! Back in May we moved here after retirement and leaving the peoples republic of massachusetts . The first item we bought was a new golf cart to get around in the good size 55+ community we moved to. After doing some research into the world of Golf Carts I was about to buy a Yamaha Quiet Drive Gas Cart, that’s a great Cart , the only one with four wheel Independent suspension coil overs all around! But then I found out the top speed is limited to 20 mph on the new injected engine. So after further research I discovered the Tomberlim Emerge 48 Volt SS Coup, that has 8 6 Volt Trojan batteries powering an above average size AC brushless Motor! The cart is the only one built with power steering! There is Independent Front Coil Over Suspension, with a rear swing arm motor attached rear suspension with adjustable coil over shocks. The whole cart is based on a heavy tubular chassis with drilled and slotted front disk brakes, drums in the rear with automatic parking brake. There is also a DOT approved tinted safety glass windshield and wiper, there is even an interior light, rear view mirror and nice sturdy color match (red) roof. There are also all LED lights, horn and three way safety belts. The tires are 265/50-12, that have a slightly aggressive tread that help in dirt but also help the cart handle very well, as I can actually drift it! There is also a speedo and dual mileage gauge. The best part? I can stain a GPS certified 27 mph and cover the whole community over the course of 2-3 hours! While still making it home with the power gauge blinking at a low setting! Off the line the AC Motor as all AC Motors are is a little soft, but after that they gain rpm’s and speed more quickly than the DC Motors will. All in silence! The most noise made is from the transaxle gears and tires! I am certain my cart, after yours gets the hole shot jump, will Motor right past yours!! But hey all in good clean fun! Stay safe out there and have FUN!

Great job. I did the same conversion with the same motor on my EZ-GO several years ago. Only difference is I bought mine as a kit from a company called Mr. Carts that included the motor, cradle, cables, aftermarket carb, header and supertrapp muffler. My cart was lifted with 23" tires so I was able to get 24-26mph out of mine. It was a beast but just way too loud. I like what you did using the muffler that came with the motor. You 2 could actually have a conversation while riding. Mine was so loud my ears would be ringing everytime I got off of it. I live in a golf cart community where carts are allowed on the streets. I ended up trading it for an electric cart.

The hole in the board under the seat is to let air out when you suddenly sit down so it doesn't blow up the rest of the cushion. Could catch the foam on fire with a hole that big.

Good call on building all ur own stuff. I put the 625 kit from vegas carts in my ezgo. It's all junk. First week the clutch fell apart. The fan blows dust and debris straight I to the air filter box. I built a new one and put a go power sports filter on it. The cradle cracked after maybe 2 months. I use it for hunting, and going thru some corn fields but not like I'm taking it off jumps. The voltage regulator fell off prolly the same time the cradle broke. The tachometer that comes with the kit only works when it wants to. The muffler is garbage as well. I ended up having to making a few more brackets to hold it together but its prolly fallen off three or four times by now. And its loud as hell. Not worth the money they sell it for. Good job on ur build wish I would have done it all myself.

Thanks for the review of vegas carts "junk" cradle kit. After watching Red Beard build his from scratch
and seeing what thin wall pipe construction vegas offers I know which way I want to go.
Spending that much $$ and finding out it falls apart would have me hopping mad.

Loved the videos. We just bought a 97 Hyundai golf cart with a blown Suzuki v270g. Going to buy one of these engines and make a sleeper. It already has 6" lift kit with oversize tires so will have a little better gearing. Don't tell my wife though. She said I can't make a hotrod. I told her we're buying a stock engine from Amazon so no worries.

NC Sasquatch Researchers My neighbor had a Yamaha golf cart that he had put a 670 on because his kid blew up the Yamaha engine that was on it. It was fast the times I drove it and you couldn’t hardly get that thing stuck which part of the reason why is that he a 8inch lift on it and 26inch R1 AG tires on it.

My neighbor has a EzGo cart with raised suspension head and tail lights all receipts for the rebuild on it. He bought it to go in the back of his toy-hauler/camper and like a noob didn't measure it first. So he just looking to get what he paid for it which is 3K. Its all clean and I think would be a great victim for your build. Only possible issue is it is in Reno Nevada. Give me reply if interested and see if I can shoot you some pics.

    • @theoldfartschannel3692

I have a 91 Hyundai. A "clone" of a G2. I built a Stage 2 long rod and forged piston Predator 420 with the exception of the cam and 3 circuit bored stock type carb. Went with the Torque+ cheater cam's stock lift to keep the valves from hitting the .018 out of the hole piston with a .048 head gasket. Went with the stock carb to run the foam element modified generator air filter box to better protect the filter. Mine has a 12.33 gear and does around 22 mph at 5000 rpm, which is about the cam's limit, with stock 18" tires. Fun toys.

Build a Yamaha g2. They have independent front suspension and the rear transaxle is on a swing arm with coil over shocks so you dont have to build a cradle for the motor like that. Honestly they are my favourite cart to build as I have had 2 of them. The one i currently have is lifted 4" with 22" floatation tires, has a 2500lb winch, light bar and custom bumpers. The thing is awesome

My 91 Hyundai does that without a lift kit with 20x7-8 atv tires and I live in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. I've seen too many lifted carts tip over or roll in my neck of the woods to want to raise the center of gravity on mine. Soft suspension and no sway bars don't mix with lift kits and hillsides. I have my Massimo 500 for off trail purposes. It's got a roll cage.

I think that top speed is plenty when you consider the stock suspension, BRAKES and front end on the golf cart, any faster would probably be unsafe.
