People are dumb, seriously.

I’m a pale Irish girl and usually shades that are supposed to be lighter than skin tone are just a hair darker than mine and they look like I just put foundation on my nails and it is terrible! I never wear nudes, just mid to dark browns because of it
5:10 - as a nail tech I would never tell a client a color wouldn't look good on them /their skintone - sometimes the undertones of a color are clearly a little off but even then I still always say let's swatch some colors (of the same shade, just slightly different tones) on them and I let them decide what they like. The only thing I would ever push back with is if it's a regular getting the same color all the time I might lightly joke about trying something new but if they say no or maybe next time then I immediately stop. The only person who has to be 100% happy with that color is the person whose going to be wearing it for the next week or 3

Please don't listen to that. White looks good on everyone. Its not a color, its a shade, like black. Universally flattering. If you don't want a clear white, you can do an off white, or cream color.

My nails get really nice and long but something always happens after a few weeks and I’ll randomly slam my hand into something or try to catch something and eventually I cut them all off because they’re all different lengths from breaking. It isn’t that they aren’t strong either. It’s just accidents 😩

But every single time I try to get a slight trim, and am adamant I just want the slightest trim, I always get ignored and the hair dresser cuts inches off saying they think it looks better. Ooof the only good thing about the pandemic is it encouraged me to learn how to trim it myself 😌

I get one cut a year and trim my own hair every two months so by the time I go to a salon to get my hair cut I'll ask for them to take 5-7 inches off, depending on the style I want. For the last three years I have to ask them to cut a little more for at least 10 minutes while they try to convince me to keep my length. I really dont understand what's so hard about some people not wanting to give us what we want. We're the ones paying for the service. If they think our hair is going to look bad, give us the option to choose it anyway.
I also had the opposite problem. I had long hair and wanted to go back to short hair. The hairdresser was PISSED that I was adamant about it and when she was done (she didn't mess with the cut btw) she parted my hair in the middle (I always wear side parting because middle parting looks really really bad on me), told me I looked like a kid now and went to the register. Absolutely ridiculous behaviour. After a couple other instances I just decided to never go back to any hair dresser.
This is the first nail polish collection I hopped on on DROP DAY. While the lighter shades aren’t exactly what I go for, I see their use and can see myself using them for specific reasons. Or even handing them off to my daughters/friends/relatives. As a whole this collection is gorgeous. I can’t wait for more undertones from them

I think the lightest one is a great alternative to white if you want the same look but don’t want a drastic stark white look. It looks great on everyone I’ve seen😍
A few things: I have a set of mugs I drink everything out of. Juice, water, tea, soda, hot cocoa, everything. Nothing wrong with drinking out of your favorite cups! Second, your nail shape is perfect, third, I ♥ your braids! Lastly, I saw you struggle with getting a smooth coat of polish sometimes: to avoid a chunky, streaky, patchy nail polish application, apply MORE nail polish. You want to get a completely sealed coat with no breaks to maintain the longevity of the weartime, so don't wipe your brush off too much. You have long nail beds and long nails, so for a smoother application don't be afraid to fill up the brush with MORE polish! ♥

Lights Lacquer is my all-time fave nail polish brand!! Opaque nail polish even with light shades and the brush makes polishing your nails so easy
