I was happy to hear that you realized such a large shelter may not be possible when you are alone in the jungle and have limited food available. I think the large shelter is a good idea for an extended stay and when there is more than one person. If you are alone, a shelter that sheds rain and has a raised floor is still necessary, but on a much reduced scale. You are a hard worker to be sure! Thanks for a great video.
Hi Vanessa, having watched part 1, I couldn't wait for this video! This is a massive project to take on, alone, and you're not getting wood from a DIY store, you're searching, selecting, measuring, carrying, and cutting, and I'm exhausted just watching you! so pat yourself on your back for what you've achieved so far. There comes a time when your mind is willing, but your body is unable to carry on, so there's another day tomorrow, and you can return refreshed and your body able. Thanks for sharing all your great adventures, even when your struggling with these huge projects, you always show the real you!💖💘💗
Vanessa, the builder of good woodland shelters. The mice will eat good for the day with that apple you thoughtfully left them. Jungle structure is coming along nicely. Enjoy the crafting of it.

When I have breakfast in the bush, I usually have porridge, with maybe dry fruit mixed in. I put a lot of raw sugar on it, (not too much!), as the sugar gives you an energy boost, and when that starts to wear off, the porridge takes over, as it is a slow-release of energy. You are doing really good! Well done, Vanessa!
You can eat dried fruits....some you can buy candied ....some are already sweet by themselves.....pecans are very good also and you can buy them candied too...that will satisfy your breakfast sweet tooth......I love your shelter....tough to build by yourself....but building it in steps in a few trips there you will finally have a nice private place to sleep above ground.....thanks for another great video!!!

For cereal; oatmeal with cranberries or raisins, walnuts, olive oil, honey and a touch of cinnamon will do nicely. If cold camping, oat/honey based granola bars are quick and provide an energy boost. But always coffee! Tea will do after noon or later, but in the morning good strong hot coffee. Love your channel.
Hello Vanessa, thank you for sharing another fine video. You are a hard working Lady. You could use a couple helpers. Please be safe out there. All the best of good things to you and family. I look forward to see the completed project. 🤗

No power left for building? No problem! No power equals power nap!! I see that you like power naps too! Nice video! All of your rudimentary steps for the shelter are in place. Being in a jungle like environment, you must build up high because of snakes, stuff like wild boars and other scavengers that could come after you. The forest or jungle floor has a lot of moisture too. So, the elevated floor concept is always a very big plus. If you were to scrounge 2 old tarps (1.) one for the roof and (2.) one for the platform to use as a cradle gurney, well then that should speed up the construction a little bit. The wood and leaves can be laid over the tarps as time goes on to provide additional protection during the build process.
Your doing well as anyone that has built one with a raised floor knows what is involved, and that's alot of work for a single person. Looking at where you are you still have a load of lifting and climbing to cover the roof. I'm sure your determination will carry you on as it takes what time it takes really as your a mum and a gardener as well when your home. For breakfast for energy try porridge with a big lump of jam in it, even cold it's all energy. Little cat naps will keep you going as well instead of burning yourself out working, working, working. Hi Vanessa! A common saying here is "You bit off more than you can chew..." and in this video, it appears that you did just that. On the good side, you gained experience in doing so! Therefore you had a successful learning experience in the beauty of nature. You mentioned the subject of being in an emergency situation. That got me thinking about the fact that in most emergency situations you are not prepared for all your needs, and a through understanding of what resources are available to you is imperative to survival. That is one way in which you would be way ahead of most people in that you would know what to do and what to look for. Then there is the matter of priority too. Many needs but what to take care of first. Food, water, shelter, etc. I have occasionally thought about planting seeds in the forest of plants for food that would not only survive but expand on their own so that there would be a food source if anyone were stranded nearby. Never have done it, but have considered it. Thanks again for your videos!

I recommend eating cup soup that kinda Heinz or something in the morning. It's easy to cook it just pours hot water and stir up. You can get your body warm soon!
I would like to build a tree house in this location. About 5 meters from the ground. Using 6 or 8 trees as the main support, or legs. A single sloped roof would be adequate and sides woven from reeds or thin branches. All made waterproof with tarps and plastic sheeting. A fire hearth, made with local stone laid on the floor. Just enough to protect the floor from the heat of your portable stove. Finally, a wooden ladder which can be pulled up at night for security. Furniture and comforts to be made later. You like ? PS. I love your channel. More people should be doing bushcraft like this. Much respect. ❤️
"Hi" there Vanessa, "thankyou". Dark chocolate and nuts like almonds, cashew, and Brazil nuts are all high in magnesium. Avocado is very good too for your breakfast. Thinner branches can be interweaved to create square areas of pallets to place onto the roof support. "Take care" 👍😆 💕

About breakfast, I think your apple could be cooked to make it safe. I like instant oatmeal: provides long- lasting energy, just add boiling water to cook it. Add raisins, other dried fruit, nuts, butter, sweeteners, spices.

Hi Vanessa, I hope you are starting to feel better now and you catch up on new messages on old videos. I'm recent to your videos and loving them, your attitude is great, the scenery is fantastic, you are lucky to live where you do and have so much..... You ask about breakfast, porridge, with jam is always good, cheese, maybe biscuits or dark bread. Remember your body is a furnace, it needs fuel, hot fuel is always better because you use energy to heat, digest and process food otherwise, even warm water is better than cool water. Think about becoming a Hobbit! Second breakfast mid or late morning and something hot, take a rest, use your flask to keep water hot and make a hot drink. Conserve energy whenever possible, in your projects consider the length of wood you cut, measure it, waste nothing. Wear gloves! Especially when handling wood... You have access to many small cookers, use them to keep yourself energy efficient, especially with drinks. Sometimes the task becomes more important than your health, step back before that point and consume energy. I am not criticising in any way, think you are great and your channel very entertaining but you need to look after yourself, I'm also envious of your equipment as much of it we can no longer buy in the UK... Keep safe.
Porridge oats. You can add anything to it. Apple, raisins, nuts, honey, sugar, dried fruit etc. Make it with milk, made from powdered milk and water. It's a slow release energy breakfast which should last you for half the day.
Its important to get a fire going in the morning and having a hot drink and meal , something like a coffee and hi energy meal like oats with hot water add honey with raisins or chocolate energy bars , with the wood I would make a Yurt or teepee building with a place to to keep my collected fire wood dry .

Du siehst zu schön aus, um in einer Notfall-Bushcraft-Szene zu sein. Liebe einfach deine Videos.
Good start to your shelter. It must be frustrating with so many restrictions. Your English is getting better. Who watches your boys when you over night?
Good!
About breakfast, I think your apple could be cooked to make it safe.
I like instant oatmeal: provides long- lasting energy, just add boiling water to cook it. Add raisins, other dried fruit, nuts, butter, sweeteners, spices.
I've always wanted a simple, small log cabin, so that's what I would try to build. It does take a long time, but you'll be done before you know it!
Hello Marjie!
Thank you very much for your constructive comment!
Kind regards,
Vanessa
We say good night beautiful and then get up the early Bird gets the worm in the USA Tennessee prepper,🥰🦋🇺🇸👍, I love your English and the accent good job 👍

Keep safe.
When are you an lily gonna do another overnighter at a survival shelter? Or a multiple day camping trip again?
Fresh fruit, coffee in the morning. Hang your food up on a long string from a tree. Helps keep the mouse out.
good work I like your video an bit of lack
off to a good start and after the roof it done you can keep dry in the rain, yes?
Little brother mouse - yells: Apple too big to carry!
Big brother mouse: No carry! Just take bite. We return later.
Porridge oats. You can add anything to it. Apple, raisins, nuts, honey, sugar, dried fruit etc. Make it with milk, made from powdered milk and water. It's a slow release energy breakfast which should last you for half the day.
Vanessa I like to prepare meals in advance of my trips into the bush. Mainly dry fruits and vegetables and nuts!
Its important to get a fire going in the morning and having a hot drink and meal , something like a coffee and hi energy meal like oats with hot water add honey with raisins or chocolate energy bars , with the wood I would make a Yurt or teepee building with a place to to keep my collected fire wood dry .
