It’s these encounters that always put me on edge. You can prepare for a boss fight, you can’t prepare for 3 trees to stand up while you’re just trying to make some planks
Damn that poisoned birchnut one is impressive. I always just leave them alone because they're literally impossible for me. I'd say 3 terrorbeaks at once is easier than 3 poisoned birchnut trees at once
If it were 3 I would have ignored them too because they are nearly impossible to do no damage. Either that or I would recruit pigs to chop for me or burn them down.
Hm well played :D I died when you casually pushed the hounds into the pen and when you just caged ewecus and burned him to death xD Lots of understanding on the game mechanics and aggro behind it, but as a wendy main i just usually tank them with abi. Football helmets from spider -> werepig. Healing from butterfly wings and tent
Yeah, Abi makes every task easier due to AOE she provides and damage boost she grants. But just so you know, what I did is strategy to kill these "minibosses" as any character SOLO without taking damage. As of how practical it is to do, Varg strategy can be executed as soon as one obtains science machine and a piece of meat. Instead of blowdart you can light Varg on fire with a torch after luring him certain distance away from bait pen,and push hounds inside while he's on fire (maybe I should've done that instead :/) As for ewecus, you've probably noticed how I capped solo at explaining. That's because you can just drop killerbees on ewecus as any character and they will kill him for you. But that's not solo since killerbees do everything for you whereas this is done by you and you alone.
I mean if you are desperate enough to do no damage solo with them go for it. But when it comes to ewecus just drop killerbees for no damage kill And for warg I would just lead deerclops or bearger to him. This was only demonstrating solo strategy with no or minimal help from other mobs.
For ewecus just run into him when he's sneezing so that he'll miss the trap attack (watch violentshade's video). For varg eh, Just lead him into a beefalo heard to be honest or a pigking village
@@Youmu_Konpaku_ I'm pretty sure that what you're talking about is guille's video where he popularized the ewecus pushing method which was published by yet another youtuber which name I don't remember. What violent shade did was Wendy strat where he doesn't get hit because ewecus switched aggro onto Abigail whilst trying to attack Wendy beforehand causing him to miss.
There is a huge problem with that. I would LOVE to do what you're suggesting me to do. However, when I tried to record my let's play, my game either crashes or is simply unplayable due to the lag that is caused by both caves and recording. I'm sorry but I can't do anything about that one.
Fantastic! As a maxwell main, this is GOLD Still, that birchnut fight is difficult for me Question. Are hounds attracted to pig skin same as meat? Never tried it due to fear of losing it. lol I like making small flingo bases near dfly, and if so, this would give rise to so many new ideas for farming.
Yes my friend Hounds in fact are attracted to pig skin and it is probably second best item to use as meat-based bait at least in my opinion. My personal number 1 is bunny puff since it only has 2 uses (3 if we count pig king trading) unlike pig skin which is versatile in many recipes.
Not only that but also because lotff has larger range and is somewhat immune to being stunned if you manage to hit it. Both of these combined can make him somewhat unpredictable. He doesn't even have that much HP when you compare him to other minibosses in this video (he is only healthier than ewecus).
Also I forgot to mention that I used spear because not only is it enough for their healthpool but also when you start out your world most if not all of these encounters are unexpected and happen as a surprise factor. Unless you are able to make dark swords or have tentacle spike on you at all times, your only options are either to craft a spear, or use hambat which you previously had (which by the way could be fresh or nearly rotten so there's that).
@@moat_n_coat yeah I understand now lotff is annoying and what you explained with the weapons but i feel like 70+ days in you should have at least have a dark sword or something better on you but that's just me not trying to be a edgy rick

seems a bit excessive to build a burning pen for the ewecus. have you considered taking it on without the setup? there's a way to dodge the snot balls by pushing the ewecus while it's preparing that attack.
I know I know, but this video was made before pushing strategy was popularized. This was supposed to be solo method so of course it's not practical to pull off. Dropping killer bees is by far better option in my opinion especially on servers where your ping is high, since if you mess up pushing strategy even slightly you're going to take quite a bit of damage.
Alright so if you're still watching comments I'm curious to know. Why use nine logs like you did against ewecus? Does the fire damage stack? If so I have a few bosses to visit with 200+ logs...
Fire damage does stack but you need to drop the logs individually instead of in stacks otherwise it won't be as effective. But do be warned that you WILL lag if your pc is not good enough to handle that many burning items
Hounds that are bonded to varg don't attack walls. If you watch carefully you can see that as soon as I kill varg, hounds break free. As for moonstone event, if you have varg with hounds nearby, those hounds will lose bond with varg and will attack anything to get to the moonbase.
