My friend and I trying to get good at this game and do everything we can and we just beat dragonfly for the first time yesterday and I think we're gonna go for this boss next. The dreadstone armor looks so awesome to have! Good video btw, you're nuts!
Good luck with killing this boss! Dreadstone armor really is cool to have. One thing: Getting first hit on this boss might be awful experience so watch out for that (bringing ranged weapon like a boomerang or bringing tail o' three cats for getting first hit is recommend for safety). Rest of the fight is pretty straight forward: the better you dodge, the easier the fight is.
cool, i love Willow! also would be great to see the boss’ health bar. i understand you like challenge, but it’s kinda more comfortable to check progress during boss fight for those who haven’t fight the boss yet
@@demihau Majority of other boss fighting videos already have boss health bar so I don't see a reason to use it. Also knowing how much HP boss has allows me to do stuff that I otherwise wouldn't be able to do. I feel like if someone wants to see boss bar in the fight they can go watch literally any other video
@@moat_n_coatthere are apparently mods that add the bossbar to the recording of the game, but otherwise it is hidden to the player. @Somerandomguy2763 well yeah but not all.... I mainly mean that you can fight the boss... like it's a boss learning and finding its weakness.... unlike crab king
Curious what you think about Willow since her update? This is impressive btw. I can't beat Werepig without a thulecite crown and a mag. My favourite opening for new Willow is actually: (Turn on rifts in the cave and set to often) Tame a beef -> Kill bee queen early -> Rush ruins / kill AG -> Kill Nightmare Werepig -> Kill shadow rift bosses -> Get your cowl and scythe. By the time deerclops comes I usually have a war beefalo, jelly beans, 2 bernies, a mag and the cowl + scythe. She's the most fun to play with.
I think that Willow is amazing now that she got her skill tree. She has a lot of potential now with her spells and bernie's abilities. When it comes to beequeen, lunar flames ability is what makes Willow one of the best characters to kill beequeen early on as it doesn't require a lot of prep besides ember grinding and for last 2 phases combustion will do the job just fine. I liked playing her before the rework and I'm happy that she got way more to offer right now. Overall I like it! Thank you for watching, much appreciated!
I keep trying this fight but he keeps getting stuck in his stalking animation and healing. It has to be busted because no matter what I do I can't keep up the damage to out perform his healing. I'm
What I do to force him out of stalking is turn my camera so he's upwards, and if he's walking right, go right-er and when you approach him enough, walk left and he'll miss his attack and start running (if he's walking left, you go left-er, approach, walk, right). After that dodge him twice more and he'll get tired, at which point you get free hits. If the fight just started you MUST hit him at least once to provoke running, otherwise he'll keep stalking over and over.
@@haroldparsons9727 I feel like he's designed to force you to kite him because usually he only swipes 3 times before resting, but if he hits you even once, that resets back to 0, so you have to dodge 3 more hits after that before he rests.
It's that 2nd phase when he starts slamming and you have to damage him from 5k health down below 3k before he starts his charge again. Once I got that down it was just patience and not getting caught on the edges of the map. My werepig spawn location was in this tiny little strip of land. Lol
Insane skills as always. I have never fough him in the dark before (always had like 2 stars) and i just noticed how insanely cool and scary it is when you can see his eye glowing red in the darkness and moving torwards you… thats a true nightmare indeed, is that perhaps why you chose Willow?
No reason in particular why I chose Willow for this fight. I just like playing her and she's mostly default character so it plays out fine. The only time I don't choose Willow is if challenge involves fire damage at which point I choose Wilson.
Is the armor worth it, or should I just take my normal route to ancient guardian on a ruins rush? He seems fairly doable early game, but eye of terror already drops me a rechargeable helm that I can get super early.
Well, eye mask consumes food to repair, and dreadstone armor repairs itself proportionally to your sanity, or lack of it. If you like playing insane most of the times, dreadstone armor is really good because it repairs itself quickly, so characters like wortox could benefit from dreadstone armor. Wanda players might even enjoy it due to nightmare fuel farming.
@@moat_n_coat Yep, the helm is great for characters like wanda which voraciously consume nightmare fuel in combat (and so generally stay low sanity in exploration to allow insanity)
@@moat_n_coat For sure. Honestly I mostly play her for her personality. She’s great. I’ve loved her ever since the original Don’t Starve. I love what she’s gotten since then though.

I never tried it, but considering the amount of damage his attacks deal, he would force them to hide from one to two attacks. I guess you could try but I don't promise you success.
I was reluctant because I didn't think he needs one. He's a default character and all of that felt weird or unnecessary to me. All of that is just strange to be honest.
Just completed my no-damage fight against this boss. I was tricked too many times - 2 hours for 80 tries. And I had walking cane and about 2x of your damage.
To be fair, my first encounter with this boss was yesterday, and after not playing this game for months, I was like: Oh my... How long is it gonna take before I succeed once. Turns out it wasn't too bad, but it still took me fair amount of tries due to his somewhat unpredictable behaviour.
Beefalo definetely is a speed buff. I wanted to do this fight with as little equipment as possible. Although there is nothing that stops you from fighting this boss however you like, this was just my approach :)
He spawns in caves naturally. From what I know, he mostly spawns in muddy biome since I haven't noticed him anywhere else. However, if you just created a world and you're trying to teleport to him, it won't work because he doesn't spawn day 1. It has to be at least day 2 or 3 as far as I know.
I like this boss, but it's a shame the shadow and moon duology thing isn't touched on in his attacks. I mean, he's literally powered by both, and yet neither actually is used in the fight. I feel they could have just given this sort of combo mechanic to just Bearger or something.
