    Arthur that is a cool exercise with the Helicopter. I have landed in slush on top of ice but never in a foot of water! Keep your adventures coming. They are highly entertaining.

    again... I say... Its Not just Arthur's incredible Rotars!! its Arthur the Magnificent Pilot Flying them!!
    by far the Best Pilot I have ever flown with! and I have flown with Many! Arthur can do things with His Chopper and Gyro that others say is insane and Not Possible! This Amazing Pilot deserves More Credit and Exposure for His Talents and achievements. I am Hoping to get another Oppertunity to fly out with Him for the second time! well done Arthur

    Awesome video of your Rotorway Exec. You should install water landing floats on the landing skids. Fly safe.

    Quite a daring venture especially if you can only estimate the depth of the water and the gradient of the bed. I am curious to know why more power is required to hover over water. Is it because water offers less resistance to the down force of the propellers ???

    • @ArthurGemperle
      @ArthurGemperle  8 років тому

      The water depth and ground surface was carefully checked before landing by Steven . The down force of the air creates waves or ripples in the water , the air is being recirculated in the rotor down force system . To create waves one needs power and that power is lost on the helicopter.

    That is very impressive. Is this something typical for search rescue i.e. submerging your skids? i love your design on the helicopter.

      It is only for a demonstration to show the ability to land practically anywhere if necessary to help some one.

    • @ArthurGemperle

      There is no weather change both shots taken at the same time only different camera angle

    I have to ask... what is the issue with the helio flying over water??? Does the water not let the air from the prop push as hard as land??? or is it a different charge ???

      Thanks for watching. It took me 2000 hr. to build it including all my modifications, I have spend so far about $ 80 000 for everything. If you like to see more please watch my videos: ua-cam.com/users/arthurgemperlevideos

      Das Wasser bewegt sich unter dem Heicopter Das braucht Energie das dem Heli weggenommen wird.
      Auch die Wellen reflecktieren den Luftstrom nach oben in das Rotorsystem und die gleiche Luft wird nach unten beschleunigt mit verminderten Tragkraft

      A new kit is about $ 100 000 but you have to build it yourself
      A used Helicopter with low hours is about $ 50 000
