    Hey Mike. The fact that you're confident enough to fly over that kind of terrain, land where you did, shut it down, restart, and fly back is great! I have a JetExec and it would be nice if I had the courage to do the same. I have watched many, many, many JetExec videos and I think you're the winner in my opinion. The photo you took of the ship on the rock is one of the best I've seen. Blow that photo up and put it on a wall as a work of art. You should post the video to ROG JetExec section.

      Thanks Corde, I'm not going to lie, once I shut down and climbed up to take that picture I thought to myself, this would be a bad time to have a starting issue!

      @@mikemclark That was a wise thought to have. Maybe next time just bring down to idle and let rotor stop, don't shut it down completely.

    Truly awesome man. I have this little thing in flight sim; I could only wish flight sim had anywhere near this level of detail. By the way, what's with the twitching rotor indicator? Is that a bad sensor or?

    • @mikemclark
      @mikemclark  15 днів тому +1

      The sensor is set to pick-up 4 sets of magnets in the rotor shaft. The magnets work well for the backup steam gauge (which you can't see in the video) but the MGL unit was getting confused because of reversed polarities in the magnets. I fixed this issue shortly after.

      One more question Mike, How tall are you? How much room is left between the headset band and the cabin roof? I am 6' and considering buying a Turbo Talon and wondering if I will fit without lowering the seat pan, if that is even possible??

    • @mikemclark

      I’m 5-10, there are cushions inserts that go under your butt that can adjust your height. I had a couple in..At 6’ you will be fine…. Go to a flyin and people will be happy to let you climb in and most will take you for a ride.

    What's the difference in range and performance between the turbine and piston?

    • @mikemclark
      @mikemclark  3 роки тому

      I don't know much about the piston version but I believe the range is nearly the same, I get about 2h20min on a full tank but this would depend on a few variables. As for performance, this is also hard to say because I don't know much about the piston in real-world situations. I also haven't tested the limits of the turbine but with just me on board I can confirm I have a tremendous amount of available power.

      surprisingly they're the same because of all the bulk/weight reduction using a simple turbine they free up room for a huge 50 gal fuel tank.
