Helicopter Rescue operation for Dutch Cargo ship Eemslift Hendrika in rough sea at Norwegian Sea.

- Last 4 crew had to abandon the ship because remaining on board was too dangerous and probably, engine had to be stopped due to developing list. They jumped into water and were rescued by helicopter. As of 0400 UTC Apr 6, the ship was adrift with operative AIS, drifting in southern direction.
Dutch general cargo ship Eemslift Hendrika issued distress signal in the morning Apr 5 in Norwegian sea 60 nm west of Olesund, Norway. Reportedly, the ship developed a heavy list after cargo shift. According to local media, 8 crew out of 12 were already evacuated, understood by helicopter. Salvage ships or tugs under way. 4 crew remained on board attempting to salvage the ship.
Apr 5 1730 UPDATE: The ship continues to hold on against strong wind and seas, moving in northwest direction, with 4 crew still on board, heroically doing what they can to save her from capsizing. The ship with cargo of boats on upper deck is en route from Bremerhaven to Kolvereid Norway, it is these boats which shift and caused heavy list. Nearest to Eemslift Hendrika ship, fv Veststeinen, is sailing nearby, to assist or save remaining 4 crew, if things come to worst. Let’s hope it won’t come to that, and brave four seamen will manage to save the ship by keeping her against rough seas until weather calms down and SAR ship arrives.

That fistbump at the end was epic. Everyone from the pilot, the divers, the winch operators, to the men who latched the cable, INSANLY AWESOME and I'm excited. I'm going to helicopter school next week. This Is a great reason to stick it out
These are some very brave men risking their lives so that others may live , their honor is unquestionable .
I don't know what's more impressive: those waves, or the stellar job the crew did lashing those massive boats down on the deck.
The green boat did loosen, and ended up in the sea, luckily they were able to retrieve it when the weather calmed down, and it sustained only minor damages that was quickly fixed.
Shifting load is the cause of this.
❤😮😮😮❤
And suddenly out of nowhere possibly the most exciting video I have ever seen on youtube
According to the Norwegian Maritime Authority, one of the cranes on board the Eemslift Hendrika was damaged after one of the workboats on deck fell from the ship. Losing this green workboat, however, improved vessel stability and reduced the risk of the Eemslift Hendrika capsizing. She made it to safe harbour on April 9, 2021 or thereabouts - brave, resourceful sailors and airmen.
Absolutely
Holy fuck
Thanks for the update
So what about the green boat
@@numb-dv1dt its somewhere in those waters
Excellent securement of the cargo I must say. Seas that rough and no cargo moves. Bravo fellas
Before I left Norway and the town of Florø, where this rescue operation was controlled from, with 2 helicopters. I have seen them fly out on more extreme weather than this, and even in the dark. But the helicopters have the most advanced equipment, also for flying in heavy weather and in totally darkness. The rescue base was new in 2009, and since then these guys why fly helicopters have saved a lot of lives. Not just out in the sea, but also many foreigners who don't know the danger of the mountains. But foreigners who have lived in the area some years, they have learned on every tour up in the mountains. And they have also saved several of these who base-jump from mountains, and parachutes into mountain walls and gets stuck there. Those who jump from illegal places get a huge bill after a rescue operation who never should have happened!

Amazing pictures of the daily work by the rescue crew. Have in mind they do this at night in pich darkness also.
This rescue operation was on the tv show «Reddet» last week. We learned that the lack of daylight was a security risk. The operation were near called off but they managed to do the job.
That looks like a crazy job

amazing bro
Amazing
The guy who jumped into the water was lucky as waves drove him away from the ship.
That is the procedure, you jump what you call the leeward side, or else the waves and wind will push you towards the ship😁
@@rajasundaramjayanthan9571 Thanks for the information. But does that always guarantee the safe passage?
@@Amolraut-qm3pe no, as soon as you jump you should swim away from the ship, or peddle away from the vessel as quickly as possible,😏
But there can be conditions , you have to jump on the windward side, in that case swim quickly away from the vessel or else heavy seas will push you towards the vessel
Why would somebody wanted to get away from the ship? Isnt It safer to be closer?
@@RocketMooder 100’s, sometimes thousands of tonnes of metal coming towering towards you whilst a 9 metre wave smashes you into the side 🙏🏻good luck surviving that . Idk why the guy jumped though theres an orange safety boat near the rear of the ship ? They’re designed to stay afloat through near anything

Rescue workers do not have time to suffer. Jump. Do the job you've trained for. When done, wind down and prepare for the next emergency.
I would think, like paramedics, burnout could kick in down the line.
Can you imagine the insurance guys watching this ? Got to smile !

Dangerous jobs
Super ❤️❤️
That’s bad ass
Good job guys … I wonder what happened to the ship after all said and done!
Mee too
The last crew member leaving engaged the auto pilot steering the ship out to sea. Hoping it would get as far as possible from the coast, minimizing the risk of oil spills. During the night the weather eased and in the morning the ship still floating , it was towed ashore. Also the lost boat was picked up and taken ashore.
Terlalu miring kapal nya...semoga semua di beri keselamatan
pas facile, forçe vrai heros

What happened to the ship?? Run aground, sink, salvage???
Internet. Find someone who has a computer who has access to the "internet". Ask around. There you can find all sorts of information, including the spelling of words such as "lazy" and "stupid".
I would of just taken the boat that is on the deck LOL
You are wrong ....you just see how rough sea...if you have no idea of sailors life so dnt comment lyk this..plzz

You dumb ? There was a dude over board . And the ship was being thrown about so the little boats would have been worse and less safe

For anyone wondering vessel is fine
wow
heroes
when I look at this ocean I remember the beginning,
what became of this ship and cargo??
