The new dungeon has us delving into the fractured mind of Emperor Calus, where his memories and past our laid bare before us. From his conflict with Ghaul, to his time as Caiatl's father, there is so much that this dungeon adds to the lore and story of Emperor Calus. It is important to note that all dialogue presented in this video is dialogue that is guaranteed to play during your play through of the dungeon. However, there is more dialogue through repressed and stolen memories that are collectibles found throughout the dungeon that give more dialogue and insight into Calus. I will be making an entirely separate video for all of those.

Interesting. So Calus wasn't negligent; he wanted to create a world where Caital grew up in peace and prosperity, but his narcissism and lack of self-worth made him do things that made her hate him, causing his exile and driving him towards the Darkness. Even now, he just wants her to love him.

Why do I have the feeling that, had Ghaul survived and was alive now, it'd be a triangle of nightmares?
Caiatl has a nightmare of Ghaul; Ghaul has a nightmare of Calus; Calus has a nightmare of Caiatl.
Ghaul did manage to ascend into a Lightform, it'd not surprise me if the Traveller didn't simply kill him, but merely dismiss him.
@@koldraxonofthefirstseven5718 Bro, if that's what happened and Ghaul returns for the final shape as a guardian of the traveler I'd be so happy. I'd make narrative sense because the traveler wouldn't just disintegrate somebody (or at least I hope it wouldn't)
@@tyrantofcans465 I mean, we do that ourselves all the time. The Traveler can fight and even kill to defend itself, and it's likely done so many times before. There had to be other beings like Ghaul trying to claim the Light by force.
Calus before Duality: *have a giant party boat, sugar papa, classy with that wine, and narcissist*
Calus after Duality: *sad story of a possessive father that only wants his daughter to live in a peaceful society, killed doggo, drunk.... still a narcissist*
Where is all the rest of that explained though? In the collectibles?

I loved the story of this dungeon, just like the avarice dungeon its so interesting to hear stories. This one's great since it adds the real details to lore stories that were told to us, but with alot of loyalist propaganda added onto it.

Huh.. I always imagined Calus would be a negligent father but in reality he wanted to have his daughter grow up in a peaceful society.
However his narcissism was what brought about his daughters hate towards him.
As a result he was exiled and that drove him into the darkness to which he feeds on.
All he wants is for his daughter to love him.
Would have been interesting if Eris went to Caital and asked her about the Psions use of the mindscape.
