Wow that was the most detailed breakdown of a homemade raw diet I’ve ever seen. Showing those math examples could really make a person feel they could handle that
Because of some dental issues my dog is having, I decided to switch to a softer, homemade food and she's loving it and even lost some weight. I have searched and searched to find out if she's getting her nutritional needs and couldn't find anything until this video. This helps tremendously. Here's a tip: I have my egg shells and then I bake them. Once cooled I grind them in a coffee grinder until they are a powder. Each meal I sprinkle some on her food for calcium. Again, thank you for providing this video and helping us fur baby parents out.
My 7y/o chihuahua isn’t as active during colder months… he is 5.5lb (he is a runt) …. I feel like 22oz is quite a lot of food for him. I make his food homemade and add multivitamin powder that includes flax and chia seeds, kelp, etc. Note: he doesn’t digest beef well at all, so we stick to poultry (ground) chicken, Turkey, pasture raised eggs) & add in raw goats kefir or yogurt, sardines or krill oil, chicken broth….For veggies we add steamed cauliflower, broccoli, bell peppers, pumpkin or butternut squash, green beans and when we eat fruit we give them pieces (melon, berries, banana or apple usually) Sometimes I will add sprouted quinoa or sprouted oats I normally feed him 1/2 that amount and he’s perfectly healthy and blood work is perfect. We use to give him a raw food diet and no matter how we tried healthily weaning him, he would get sick (throw and go)… so we cook his food now and add freeze dried and steamed components instead. He also drinks water mixed with 100% coconut water but we’re going to reduce that as he was getting addicted to it and drinking too much for the taste rather than instinct. Should I stick to this?
Thank you for truly helping us step by step on how to improve our furry babies health! It really is incredible what you both go above and beyond to help everyone open our eyes and make it easy to follow and understand! Bought your course and am so happy to have a detailed and informative guide for my dog!!
I love all this information! I’m changing my dog to a homemade diet and I didn’t even know where to start! I saw some of your TikToks and save every one I can for all the tips and information to better create this diet for my dog. Cannot wait for the cookbook to come out!! ❤
Thank you so very much for breaking everything down and showing the breakdowns on the video. Took pics to make this easier when I do it. New at this and seem to keep getting lost with the amounts in my head...lol! Much appreciated.
This was so helpful! I’m such a visual learner so this video made me feel so much more confident in starting the process of making homemade dog food for my fur babies
Thank you for this presentation. I have been feeding a homemade diet 5 years now and will say very few recipes on the UA-cam channel meets a dog nutritional needs. Kudos to you.
You guys are amazing! Thank you for everything you do and share! I have started to introduce raw into a kibble diet and have noticed a huge energy level increase in my girl. THANK YOU
I sure did subscribe. You did a very good job of breaking everything down. Even all the percentages which can sometimes be tricky. Thank you. Keep up the great job you’re doing.
I also dont go crazy counting those balance ratios. I think thats why people get scared and intimidated, ultimately giving up on raw. We have a basic recipe and switch proteins around. My pets blood work is always great, they are never deficient in anything.
this is the most informational video i’ve ever watched, what if i’m doing a 50% kibble diet ? how would that effect the pie chart of percentages of each category
So essentially, you’d do the exact same things we did in this video to create balanced, and then let’s say your dog eats 20 oz of a homemade diet per day, just cut that in half and only feed 10 oz of fresh food per day, along with half the recommend kibble according to the bag. Does that help?
Do we have to give the organs to our dogs raw? Will nutritional value change if we were to steam or boil any of the raw meats? My dogs are small and they’re so picky.
When I do more research, the more it says not to feed liver daily or fish because it could be too much. Is that’s true ? Or is it’s okay to feed the vegetables, fruit & liver weekly instead of daily. Or it is just best to follow what you did daily
I really want to start feeding my three little babies a healthy diet. Right now they eat very unhealthy kibble, and they’re all overweight 😭 I follow you on instagram and watch all of your videos. One of my dogs is very sensitive to chicken and poultry in general. Is there something else I can do for her teeth, or add something for her stomach if I were to give her chicken feet?
Thank you! Super informative and simple to understand! I’ve been watching you guys since i decided to adopt a gsd puppy (april 2022) and your content has been such a great help! Also would it be possible to make a video about how to calculate the amounts of each groups of food to put in a meal/day if we wanna feed kibble and homemade foods together? (50-50) 🙏🙏
This is such an informative video. It was easy to understand, not overwhelming at all and in fact makes me want to fix my dog’s diet right away. I feed her a home cooked diet but I’m confident it’s not balanced. I realise through this that dogs really don’t need carbs and I do feel my dog rice / oatmeal so maybe I need to change it! Thanks for this wonderful video 😊 I don’t get goat’s milk kefir here locally - would fresh cow’s milk be a replacement?
Thank you so much for your kind words! Please always provide feedback, both good and bad so we can continue to improve! Absolutely feel free to substitute cows milk kefir for goat’s milk kefir. Just don’t do regular milk, only kefir or yogurt ☺️
Anazing video thabk you so much! My dog has many allegeries - beef, chicken, rabbit, salmon, corn and squash. The multivitamin you mentioned has beef unfortunately. Do you have another brand you could recommend?
Hello! Did you get your Rx Vitamins from a Veterinary professional? Because, I was researching on Amazon US, and people had been commenting that the Rx vitamins on Amazon may be counterfeit. So just wanted to put that out there!
Hey guys! I’m a bit confused about the % percentage of protein my dog should eat. Like what’s the maximum? Because I’ve read that adult dogs should eat around 20%-35% of their diet protein but then other articles says 40% and others even say 80%… so what do you think is the acceptable range?
hey, my dog has decreased energy and a minimal appetite, excessive sleepiness, and a rash on his back? could this have anything to do with raw food? like i get the raw from good trusted sources but wondering if this is normal when transitioning
Is it possible to take 80 lb muscle meat. 10 lb raw bones. 10 lbs secreting organs...run it through a meat grinder...portion and freeze...use that as a base...the use a food calculator to balance each meal say over a week span? I'm really sick of spending $xxx to buy a bag of meat flavored grain that isn't the best for dogs and constantly worrying about recalls.
Thank you so much for the information. I am feeding my dogs by 3% of their body weight since they are only 5 months and a half old. When I calculated on the feed real calculator, the % seems a lot higher. I got 1.61 lb daily for my 23lb puppy. Feels like a lot? More than your 50 lb adult dog. Help!
Totally depends on energy level! Also, puppies eat a lot of food. Those calculations take much more into account so don’t be worried if it’s different than our calculations! What really matters is that you monitor them and their weight and make tweaks if they are gaining/losing weight you don’t want them to gain/lose. Great question!
I thought you were sold on Carva4? What happened? I just signed up for Farmers dog and watched your review on this one. I thought I was doing better until i saw the synthetic vit and mineral pack added. This gets so confusing. I was starting to make her home made food before but was not sure if I had all her nutrients added to the food. I want to get her off all dry foods but just need a straight forward answer. I like your information on youtube but now you are changing again. Help please just help me keep it simple and to keep my dog health and well. Please
Hi!! I love your videos sooo much!!! So... I have a question! The Feed Real Calculator only starts at 4m puppies, I Know that I can introduce a raw diet at 2 months but I can't find any information about the % of the categories that they need, I know that puppies need a large % of raw meaty bones, but that's about it 😅 Can you tell me where can I find this information? Thank you so much!!!
Guys, please talk to your veterinarian before switching or getting advice for a diet. Please get advice on how to properly transition foods. Don't trust a random guy on the internet.
while i agree with this, most vets don't know about pet nutrition because they arent a vet nutritionist. i told my vet i make homemade food and i came prepared with how i do it and what is in it. she didn't even look at it and told me to go to Balance IT online and pay for a nutritionist thru their site. the site recommends a lot of supplements in their recipes so there is no gaps. not sure i agree with that either. if anyone is watching this video it is because they want the best for their furry friend and want to feed them like the kings/queens that they are

Same question but 20 lb dog!

Thanks for the detailed video. How do I weigh the vegetables? After making the frozen cubes or before?
What should I do for my senior dog (14) who has a little trouble with her teeth? I’m worried about the raw bones
Thank you for this! However, should I be concerned if the total weight amount of food doesn’t meet my dog’s daily caloric needs?
What if I want to keep it with the 50/50 raw and kibble (in the same bowl). How would I calculate and make sure it’s balanced ?

Can i ask vita kraft is suposed to be all around sounds too good?
I wonder about giving bones of any kind. Always heard they aren't safe because of the possibility of splintering.
