  • Thank you all for tuning in! While I have mixed feelings about the construction of this knife, encountering numerous challenges along the way, I'm ultimately proud of the solutions I devised to overcome these hurdles.
In this video, I present a hand-forged 8" chef knife crafted from 1080 High Carbon Steel, complemented by segmented micarta handle scales for a sleek look. The blade underwent a differential heat treatment, and I chose an acid etched finish to highlight the hamon, opting not to polish the blade post-etching to maintain the aesthetic coherence with the handle scales.
I'm eager to hear your feedback! Also, I'm currently in the process of finishing another video that should be out shortly. My aim is always to enhance the quality of my content, and although this project didn't meet all my expectations, I believe the upcoming content will mark a significant improvement. Here's to embracing the journey of continuous learning and development!

It is nice to see a cutler using a hammer so much. You even have the callouses on your right hand to prove it. Thanks for sharing.

Great video brotha! How do you keep the white on the handle so clean? Every time I use ivory or white micarta it always stains and I can’t sand or buff it out 😢

Honestly, I'm not sure. lol.. I hand sand it to 1000 grit and hit it on the buffer. lol I think the times I've had issues with staining, it was dirt getting caught in spots that I didn't quite get sanded well enough, so dirt gets caught in the scratches from lower grits.
      Thanks so much man!
