The Bronze Fury was the old king Jaehaerys' dragon . Hugh's mother , Saera Targaryen is Jaehaerys' daughter . So he basically claimed his grandfather's dragon .
Ohhh shitttt thats a cool detail!
Wont say much to avoid spoilers but Saera was disowned by Jaeherys because she had nonconservative endeavours as a woman and their falling out haunted him till the end that he had hallucinations of her in his deathbed. So i think it's so poetic that it was Saera's son that claimed Vermithor.
@@smiteo Tbh I don't like the idea of him being Saera's son. But I accept it as show lore.
@@CarlieAndAngeyea making him saeras daughter was an awesome choice!!!!
@@poxderschlingel9512 interesting! can u explain why?
Aemond : sees 3 dragons and decides to retreat .
Granny : Oh come on kid , we can take them on !
Vaghar: "Dragonlord, my old scaly arse..."
She can't even takes on meleys heads on have to resort to ambush tactic...
@@sonsapothecary2267 that's what war tactic is, that's why she's called a war-dragon
@@sonsapothecary2267 Even Meleys used the fire from Sunfyre's attack to sneak an attack, it's all part of the battle
@@leonardohenrique5172 There is a difference between tactics and sneaking. Do not compare any dragon to meleys. it was a great dragon with good posture and very very fierce just like dreamfyre. Vhagar's only advantage is size and nothing more. Caraxes managed to kill vhagar! Meleys can kill caraxes, vermithor or dreamfyre effortlessly if they fought. But yeah, vhagar is nothing but a supid giant just like vermithor.
So happy seeing Vermithor on screen, 'The Bronze Fury' has really been brought to life. Also, Silverwing is one of the friendliest dragons so Ulf is one lucky guy.
He's been only on screen for a couple of minutes if that long and I already love Silverwing! Totally the one I'd go with if I could choose. :3

They probably should have started with her before going to vermithor
@@joshuawatts1924I was thinking the same thing. But again, if they started with Silverwing, a lot of them would still die. Seeing Silverwing first would give them the courage to try Vermithor.
@@joshuawatts1924 Vermithor and her are couple I think you have to pass Vermithor first to get to her :)
Looks like a mother to Sunfyre who has similar personality
@@itspronouncednikolaj333 are you talking about the boops 😢❤❤
Also, I agree with Ange. Ulf went back to show his mates he wasn't lying all these years. 🤣
Subconsciously perfectly possible... it also might be Silverwing wanting to show her new rider her home. She lived in King's Landing for 70 years with her queen.
Only that's not what happened silverwing was testing him same way veghar tested aemond
He was definitely sent to draw Aemond in so he could see that they had more dragons and riders. A threat basically. He didn’t do it just for fun or by accident, they just skipped all the talking that happened after they were claimed. Rhaenyra said earlier in the episode that just by seeing the amount of dragons they had would make the greens give up and bring peace. She’s definitely wrong, but that’s her hope.
Watching deamon's ego crushed by a child lord was satisfying
That was so good
The kid knew his people needed the show and that Daemon needed the army. I think he learned a lesson in politics, which he desperately needed.
Silverwing is the mother of Syrax. So cute to see them both in the same side
oh so the last scene of the 3 dragons is mommy, daddy and daughter dragons, so cute.
She is is the Mother to most of the smaller dragons
Yes I love to see a mother and daughter silverwing is so beautiful
@@awekeningbro1207 no he's not the daddy
So in the end Rhaenyra had Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Dragon Olympics
technically syrax is yellow, sunfyre is golden
@@methuselahh_ 🤓☝
@@methuselahh_ but in the show she is described as a Golden Beast by Sir Westerling in 1x01. She looks more dark gold then yellow

Oscar was the mvp of the episode. I love that the dragons pick their riders. I believe Rhaenyra told Ulf to go to Kingslanding to draw Aemond out so they could ambush him. That last shot of Rhaenyra and the 3 dragons waiting on Aemond gave me life. Loved your reaction
Standing around with three dragons and doing nothing. Dany really is her descendent.
And Rhaenyra ONCE AGAIN does nothing about it. Shocker.
Do what exactly? They JUST got the dragons, the only target in front her is Kingslanding, The Red Keep. Is she supposed to start burning her own stuff? Maybe they should attack Vaghar without a plan using mostly inexperienced riders then lose one or all of thier lives.
I think they show again chose style over substance. It would take many hours from King's Landing to Dragonstone. That Aemond chase him is so dumb because it would exhaust Vhagar. Everything just to make Rhaenyra look badass.
@@kingslayer3365whether or not they are experienced matters little. Aemond himself was way less experienced than Rhaenys, but he got the “win” because of Vaghar. As long as they command them to attack and strap themselves on the saddle, the dragons will handle it themselves.
silverwings last rider was the good queen alysanna, daemon and viserys grandmother and she has been riderless for decades. she is known to be one of the friendlier dragons and one of my personal favourites. love her design in this episode
13:38 Say it louder for the people in the back! I'm parcial to the Blacks, but this was undoubtedly cold-blooded from RhaeRhae. And she started with The Bronze Fury instead of Silverwing who clearly is a sweetheart, which I think was deliberate.
honestly it made me like her more, she really lacked character this season. they are going for kind of a cult leader/god complex storyline with her, and I like it
Idk man I’m sure all of them were asked if they wanna try and they agreed, like with that soldier dude. The greed for dragon killed them if anything
Well, they were told to be ready to die if they want to claim a dragon and nobody was forcing these people to, so i can't really see whats the argument here
People keep saying “she didn’t force them to come to Dragonstone” as if she didn’t lock them in there when they tried to flee and also chose the worst possible method of claiming a dragon 💀
@@MaKriDoK They were told death was a possibility, and it turned out to be almost certain instead, since the dragon claiming method she chose consisted of shoving them all at once in front of the dragon.
"He's kinda cute when he stops eating everyone" lmao
I loved this episode, its my favorite one until now.
" Its the dragon that must speak" - meaning " yes this very furious dragon will choose one of you but first he must have a snack... who would like to go first? :D- Rhaenyra probably
@17:30 Silverwing is a docile female Dragon, she's used to be around people. Don't be mistaken though, she's strong, just a little smaller than Vermithor (her mate) which means still huge, very fast and energetic! She's a weapon!
Silverwing is the most docile and friendly dragon even to strangers. The lover/mate of vermithor. 😍 Just like Queen Alysanne and King Jahaerys I are the old riders, and they were married as well. I believe thats daemons and viserys grand parents. The old king in episode 1 season 1
yep, those are his grandparents. hugh’s mother saera targaryen was daemon and viserys’ aunt
Vermithor and Silverwing have been basically living together for almost a century.
Hugh: "COME OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!"
Vermithor: "You have quite the nerve raising your voice at me. I respect that."
Vermithor: You know what, YEAH MAN. TALK YO SHIT
Despite killing Willem Blackwood, Daemon gained the Riverlord army for Rhaenyra, and despite Willem Blackwood dying, his nephew Benjicot Blackwood was still loyal to Rhaenyra, having the Blackwoods as their closest ally. Rhaenyra's here making things happen, acquiring more dragons for the war. Rhaenyra & Daemon did a lot. Team Black is completely stacked!
Vermithor is my New Favorite Dragon
The Dragon I choose is CANIBAL, biggest dragon from the books that he is feeding himself with dragons, soon we will see it in the show

13:40 " if someone from team green did this, the comments would be bloody ..." Omg YES you're so right, the bias is sometimes so annoying 😭
I disagree. If the Greens were doing this, they would force the people on that platform and give them no choice. No compassion. THE DIFFERENCE is that Rhaenyra didn’t force them, she asked & they volunteered. She also has shown extreme remorse for those lost and is only giving this option any thought because she’s out of options.
@@DezeraeJordan the guardian were literally holding them, wdym?
And why would greens do it worse? Alicent didn't want the kingsguardian to cut this old man's hand, Aemond sent him to the wall for it. And even when Rhaenys killed 1000 people at coronation, Otto was the one who was shouting " open the gates", so people could leave.

Vermithor is Hugh-ge, btw. With a nice, bronze Hugh. Glad he found his Hugh-man.
Rhaenys didn’t show any negativity about Alyn or Addam tho. In fact she seemed to care about them a great deal more than Corlys seems to. Corlys doesn’t acknowledge them out of his own guilt of infidelity.
The shot of Silverwing’s yellow eyes flicking open in the unfocused background behind Ulf as he steps near the eggs was so fucking cool.
Love your reactions guys. In all honestly I believe this plan of Rhaenyra is incredibly dangerous and naive, I mean you’re basically giving nuclear bombs to completely unknown people, and you’re giving them the strongest ones
Surely this won’t end up badly…..
Rhaenyra is feeling powerful but I have the feeling it wasn't a great decision giving Vermithor to a commonborn bastard lol Jace is absolutely right on his criticism of this plan
Team Green's only plan is press the Vhagar button. No wonder Aemond feels untouchable and above the world. Really felt for Aegon this episode.
*me refreshing YT since 6AM waiting for Carlie and Ange upload* 🧍
If he kills Oscar Tully, The Riverlands all stop backing Daemon and anyone allied with him. Daemon's stupid bloodlust and battle hungry ways lead him to be an abysmal politician. Daemon did what he did because he has NO other choice.
You can kinda see in his face he doesn’t want to kill him and knows it’s his fault, but it’s either that or lose any chance at raising an army.
lol daemon is smarter tham rhaenera. rhaenera in books treats dragon riders with biggest dragons as crap. daemon in books tells her to reward with titles and castles she doesnt hence their betrayal.
Okay Ange, that guitar intro was epic.
Poor jace knows future 💔
Thank you, Ange, for calling out the Green haters on the hypocrisy
did you guys recognize the guard with Alicent? it was Grandpa Garp from One Piece!~ he is definitely going to be someone i keep an eye on ^.^ loved the reaction thanks guys!~
Wanted to point that out as well :D man is jumping universes
The Bronze Fury is a legendary 🐉 within the lore of ASOIAF, so it's good to finally see him get his due.
alternative title for the sowing of dragon seeds, Rhaenerya eliminates potential/latent usurpers 🤣🤣.
or give them 2 big dragons...
You’re so right about the bias against team green!!
I’m not one way or the other but it’s crazy how people want black to be the heroes and winners in every situation.
The masses need simple protagonist vs antagonist, but it’s so much more complex 😂
I absolutely agree on this. But the show also paints the green as villains.
It's a sad fact, but the show is genuinely so much more enjoyable when you appreciate the characters from both sides instead of being blinded by the Green vs Black debacle.
@@grizlybear2178right like if you can ignore the whole black vs green thing it’s such a “not everyone is good and not everyone is bad show” ppl want one to be good and the other to be villians and each side has its strengths and weaknesses. thats kinda the whole point of both shows isn’t it? we fought each other and we scorn each other but in the end none of us are better than the other.
Agree. Like it's so boring when it's good vs bad. I love it when the "good" side isn't exactly the all righteous who can do no wrong and the "bad" side are broken people that are also somewhat victims of bigger system but that contributes to the bad things they do.
Like even I'm seeing people hating on Jace for basically looking down on small folks, these people forget that they are still after all royalties and they're not selfless people who would care for the smallfolks.
@@rogue8059 well said! i agree with everything you said. we need more ppl who think like this in this fandom honestly
Silvering: "You amuse me, I will make you mine"
RIP Willem Blackwood, the little boy in season 1 that wanted to marry Rhaenyra.
I was today years old when I learned that Hughs actor also voices Imrik the Dragonlord in the Total Warhammer-series.
Silverwing is very good looking 🐉
I AGREE 100%!! I love the way her horns look. 😅
This ep blew my mind man , such an amazing episode man i love this show so much ❤️
I love the Vermithor scene. He was like I'm too old for this
sh!t. Gets woken up from his nap and Rhaenyra's introducing him to the hœs.... um.... I mean the dragon seeds. Vermithor was justifiably in a bad mood but Rhaenyra reminded him to calm down because he was scaring the hœs.... I mean the dragon seeds and Quasimodo pulls up and tried to claim the old king's dragon first. Vermithor, being that he is very Grandpa and politically incorrect on most days, got offended that a hunchback actually tried it and the whole thing became the prom scene in Steven King's Carrie. Huge had to bring it back to Westeros because unlike the show runners he remembered we aren't adapting a Steven King book and got in Vermithor's face and yelled " GRANDPA CALM DOWN YOU ARE SCARING THE HŒS!!!!! " Or something like that ..... he meant the dragon seeds obviously. I really wish someone could remind Daemon we aren't in Steven King's The Shining either but that was absolutely marvellous in my humble opinion. I can't wait to see what happens next week with the kleptomaniac dragon that's bothering shepards in the Vail. Book readers know what's up. Let's go sheep stealer🎉
At the very end silverwing sitting on the top of the castle was so epic!
Silverwing is said to be the most docile of all Targeryan dragons, even friendlier than Syrax hence why she didn't kill Ulf and knew that he had Targeryan blood in him
“I’m Team Hugh” funny you say that, so is Hugh.
Always love how you guys compliment the actors ❤ awesome reactions
The second half of this episode was the most fun I’ve had watching any GOT/HOTD.
When the bastards tried to flee, Rhaenyra blocked them with her guards, so she killed them all to get a dragon. It's actually murder because the second they try to escape the deal is off, don't block them from escaping. If a team Green did it.....Yikes 😂
Rheanys told him to claim them as his officially and give them their station in the family before she died saying that they shouldn't be hidden in the tide anymore or something like that she didn't care 😂
You guys are the best. Not necessarily for your reactions (which are always A1), but over time of following you guys I've noticed how you support other reaction channels and that's amazing
Silverwing is known for being kind and docile for dragon standards!
Then Rhenerya should have summoned Silverwing in there first instead of Vermithor, that was kinda stupid of her to have all those people killed.
@@awekeningbro1207what does it matter if she summoned one or the other first? people were gonna die regardless
@@awekeningbro1207 Honestly I think so too. But I feel like they were gonna die either way and I think that she wanted Vermithor to for sure have a rider
14:37 once he's full, then it's fine. He's just hungry at the moment
😒🤨
Side note silverwing design make her looks like she has a crown for obvious purposes
Its episodes like this and ep 4 that make me yearn for a series centered around Aegon I and his sisters!
Vhagar was so eager to fight, she's a menace lol
Vhagar's old ass probably still thinks it's Visenya who's her rider and they're going for a battle
Like: C'mon Visenya! Remember what we did in Dorne. We can take them!
It was Aemond who turned him away, Vhagar would go attack them if she wants
it's very interesting that you interpreted the Alicent scene as baptism, it's an interesting angle. for me, however, it was obviously an Ophelia reference - she was gonna drown herself but she changed her mind when she saw that bird. what did it represent? freedom? did it remind her of a dragon? of Rhaenyra? we don't know.
if I could write Alicent's arc, she would be with her son Aegon who 1. almost died, 2. is the only one actually listening to her and coming to her for advice. wouldn't it be interesting if she tried to put Aegon on the throne, this time because of her own ambition, because it's the only way she can have agency.
Oh wow thats an interesting take. Definitely didn’t consider that! She’s been quite the complex character this season
This was like the Hunger Games... and Vermithor was really hungry.
The "once was enough" when booping was my exact reaction.
If Silverwing is known to be docile and friendly, then why didn't they attempt with her instead of Vermithor, the Bronze Fury, who's known to be aggressive? They didn't try just once but twice with Vermithor, while Silverwing was paired by chance of Ulf walking there.
man u guys blasted through this episode with the edit, touching on 10%
Also The Greens are planning against the blacks in the previous episode Aemond plan is very strategic, he is confronting daemon on harrenhall and forcing to him to fight on two different attacks one from Lannister army and one from Cole army with aemond behind him.
He is also making a case to destroy the blockade by getting the triarchy to attack. If the triarchy succeed n betray aemond his other fleet of the lannisters will have time enough to destroy the triarchy, if the triarchy fails however they weaken the blockade of rhaenyra.
Ulf's dragon is Silverwing, Vermithor's mate, and she's considred one of the friendliest dragons.
Now we only need Sheepstealer(the wild dragon living somewhere in the Vale), who was claimed by a bastard named Nettles in the book, but her character has been merged with Rhaena in the show.
Ange: "He's kind of cute when he stops eating everyone" Vermithor: 😳
Ange: He's kinda cute when he stops
Saying that with Vermithor sitting in the middle of that hellish, fire soaked pit of his own making is wild.
I figured that the two characters who previously had speaking roles in the series would be chosen as riders by the dragons.
I really didn't want the town bar fly, Ulf, to be chosen, but of course he was..😅
what i loved about this episode is that we got to see a side of rhaenyra we never saw before. she has become desperate for power, although valid, she has resulted to giving the lives of innocent smallfolk to help her own agenda. i love nyra and support her 100% but this episode showed a side of her we arent used to. and i fear it will only get worse from here on out...
You guys are the best reactors!!!
Carlie's "I forgot!". At min 9:41 It's everything.
Just an FYI: the Spy x Family: Code White movie is supposed to come to Blu-ray on Wednesday, so there's a chance that's when it comes to streaming, as well.
which is the red dragon behind Rhaenyra at the last scene?
do not forget greens have 4 dragons and 2 are really big, btw the show said vhagar is the biggest alive and vermithor the 2nd but they forgot about some wild one! (prob he is going be cut off the show xd) they change a lot from the book so we don't know what are they cooking :D
Hugh had it more tough when trying to bond with Vermithor compared to ulf with Silverwing because vermithor is a big ole grumpy bastard that has earned the nickname "The Bronze Fury". Whilst silverwing was known for being a much more peaceful dragon that seemed to enjoy the company of its dragon riders and thw dragon handlers of the pit. And any who ever tried to bond and ride her who she did not want she usually would just roar at them and scare them off instead of killing and eating them like all the other dragons.
That Dragon scene wad Targaryen Toast Crunch
15:44 who is going to tell her??????????????????
The dragons have different personalities besides taking on traits of the riders they bond with. Silverwing was known as a friendlier dragon, matched up well with ulf. Although if they tried silverwing with darklyn then he might’ve been ok
in the post ep discussion carlie mentioned that she wants a good plan from team green, they had good plans and it all worked the way they wanted, but criston got to see first hand just how devastating these creatures are, and that was in the middle of nowhere with just 2 large dragons, and it was a level of massacre for both sides. I think his planning days are over for a time, i think hes going through PTSD now, as any human does after such an event. I hate to say but i think he is somewhat broken and alone, he has absolutely no one who confides in him or for him to confide in other than Gwayne(spelling idk) who doesnt really like him(like the rest of us). So at this point i think a few things will happen, Otto may return but i dont think he will until next season or the very end of this, i think aemond is going to lean on helaena for council, since larys is now on the back foot and is unlikely to give him good help, because that is now not an increase of strength for larys himself. I also think that something fucky has happened with daemon in this episode, something about the entire scene with tully was extremely off. There was no caraxes OR alys suddenly, while they all chatted out back by the weirwood tree, and then when told to execute the blackwood, we had a cut to face after a thud or something very NOT like a sword slash. Daemon wields a valyrian steel blade and they are sharp to the point of effortlessly cutting through a SKULL (lord of the tides episode) with a clean squelch and almost no effort. I think either the ENTIRE scene was played into his head by alys to further fuck with him, or she made him view certain people in that moment as someone else. There was a lot of strange looks from simon throughout that scene also. I am concerned that he has just done something that he did not even see, this has already been setup for many episodes before so people are caught off guard because alys is not present in just about the first scene where daemon is actually doing things again. I think she's put some kind of illusion in his mind to see things different than they are, or she is pouring false information into his brain in order to steer him towards her goals (think of eren in the paths to his father and younger self)
sorry wall of text
Vermithor really looks scary, even his name sounds scary. Whatever happens in the finale, I highly doubt there will be any happy winners at the end of this season.
That scene with Corlys and his son actually has more meaning than we thought. They even explained on the inside episode that he is acknowledging him there and amazed he climbed the ranks by himself like Corlys did. Corlys showing acknowledgement means a lot to the boy akd is Lorys saying I see what you doing young blood.

Those two who claimed Vermithor and silver wing are bastards descendents of king Jaehaerys and queen Alyssane, those dragons can smell they're blood, that's why they are able to claim them, wasn't a random thing
no matter where i paused it was always om y'all. i'm not watching this for y'all im watching this for the reaction. DERP.
If I ever get to pick a dragon, silverwing will be the one (or grey ghost)
No uproar if they asked for volunteers as Rhaenyra did. A dragon rider comes with prestige and it would raise their station. They knew the risk. If team green did this, I would not say a word. And I’m firmly aligned with team black!
“rhaenyra loves the idea of being ordained to rule from the gods, being the prince that was promised because of the vindication it affords her. who are people to argue about the legitimacy of a woman ruling if the gods themselves decreed it. she has no interest in serving the throne, the people. her motivation in sitting the throne lies in her own entitlement, in affirming viserys loved in, in her divinity, her masculinity. she chafes at duty her whole life be she thinks her fate set her path, she is jesus.” -taken from twitter. also “jace would rather lose the war and die than give up any more symbols of his legitimacy. desperately begging his mother to PLEASE let him keep this privilege, his pride, his last marker of targaryen-isim, be he is so deeply ashamed of what he KNOWS he is, what SHE made him. that entire conversation saved jace for me i am so pathetically endeared to this boy who's head is split apart in two by what he is and what he thinks he should be and how he thinks he's the exception not the rule just like his mother.” & one more “one of them lost a daughter to the blockade shel placed on the narrow sea trade route, both of them essentially got locked into a boiler room (with a hungry beast) by her men, and now they both share the same social standing as her be she's stupid- they owe her nothing!” Rhaenyra has sewed the seeds for the ruin of her house, by taking away that layer of sacred protection that the targaryen name offered her, no matter who wins at this point it doesn’t matter. The only reason the Targaryens have the right to rule is because of the dragons and now lowborn bastards are riding them with no loyalty towards her and Jace is rightfully concerned about what happens one day when she dies and a targaryen looking bastard with a stronger, larger dragon is there. Why be a lord when you can be a king. Did being the heir protect rhaenyra from being opposed by her brothers? that’s not good enough for jace but Rhaenyra is so naïve even still that she thinks thats some kind of insurance to Jace.
Vierys was looking like a Elden Ring side character 😂
Ulf went to Kings Landing to lure Aemond to Dragonstone. Too bad Aemond figured it out.
18:56 Carlie's right about this one :)
The cover of got hotd so wicked! ❤
Maybe seeing Haelena ride next week 😊
I don’t think so.
The blue dragon in the trailer of the next ep is Tessarion, not Dreamfyre, it's flying above the Hightower army in the Reach. Tessarion is the dragon of Daeron, the younger brother on the green side and he's currently in the Reach fighting with the Hightowers, so I don't think we'll see her flying on Dreamfyre, unfortunately.
@@morpheus_066 I meant with Aemond asking her to ride into battle, maybe see it in season 3 if they do turn away from the books a little, I knew that was tessarion
Let’s not love Hugh just yet. 🙊
Don’t spoil it.
Capítulo final??
I hear you on the 'surprise' factor, but really if we got to this point and the chosen riders were a couple of randoms we have absolutely no connection to that would have felt way worse.
Thats true. I more meant along the lines of us knowing maybe 3-4 contenders. At least then theres a lot more surprise/shock factor. It was still awesome tho
I feel like team green would force people there, especially with Aemond in charge. Rhaenyra told them the risks and they still went in there willingly. Team black all the way baby
Vermithor playing with his new toys 💀💀
good episode
I choose Canibal, the biggest dragon ever that he's feeding himself with dragons, very soon we will see him in the show.
Rhaenyra in order to get the throne must make the most devastating sacrifice to the system itself. If all dragons can be claimed by anybody than the illusion of the Targaryen power and dynasty goes away n that itself destroys the monarchy to which rhaenyra and jace have their only power from.
The class system of the entire society of westeros will be gone thanks to rt actions that could future destroy the realm more than the civil war that is happening now. I get why Rhaenyra is doing what she is doing but the long game is in play n like usual Rt is not thinking about how this shakes the entirety of house targaryen.
A great episode n great reaction guys. Team Green.
Day 2 of me asking for “Hells paradise” reactions 😅
Vermithor want someone with courage and strength while ulf was lacking purpose and silverwing was lonely
🎸 intro . Yes please
I’m not Team’d up (that marketing was smart in causing drama) but def think Rhaenyra has the more righteous claim. Still- I don’t think anybody should be making excuses for the way Rhaenyra locked the door behind the desperate “bastards”… That’s messed up.
Even if they signed a waiver.
Waiver-mithor.

Yes Rhaenyra is evil and self serving
