When I heard that Robert Pattinson was going to play Batman I was really happy. He has been working really hard to prove he's more than a pretty, sparkling, face and I could absolutely believe he'd pull it off. I'm happy to see that being a shiny emo vampire was just a stepping stone for his career and not what defined/defines him as an actor.

I must say I've never really latched on to the Batman character, perhaps because it gets reinvented so often. At this point I'm less likely to reject an actor as "that's not Batman" than I am to think "nobody is".
I mean, we did get 3 different Batman’s in the Same .. Set? What do you call 4 movies lol.. in the 90s so.. that totally makes sense!
Pattinson killed it, he did what the script called for. Im sure just as the message of the actual film is the batmans growth. We will see him written into the batman we all know.
I saw his performance as a Bruce who only wants to be the Batman cause he thinks he should only be Batman now. He doesn't see the point in being "Bruce Wayne", he thinks he's Batman now and that's the only persona he's supposed to be. He doesn't understand what Bruce Wayne means to the city of Gotham, hopefully as you stated this will be explored in the next film. Personally I would like to see them finally adapt "Batman: Year Two" and combine it with the mythology of the Court of Owls so that the Reaper is now their agent instead of Talon. What Batman story have you wanted to see them adapt that they still haven't?

Movie is a 9/10 for me. Would of been a 10/10 but when The Riddler is unmasked it turns out hes just a cry baby mommys boy. The interrogation scene specifically, dude just makes weird loud noises.
The lighting in this movie is by far the best I've seen in a good long while.

Bruce doesn’t even know Bruce Wayne is a mask yet.
I think this Bruce had a lot of depth and soul, he seemed damaged and like a manifestation of trauma, he’s also not in it a lot but I found when he was he had a real sense of sadness and melancholy, I really connected to. I’ve heard this weird thing that just because he doesn’t put on the persona he’s the same in and out of the suit, I don’t think that’s true. I think this is the true Bruce wayne, the one that usually only comes out behind closed doors in the Nolan films, however I feel in those version he’s extremely generic and has nothing really going on with him, leaning mainly on the playboy persona to give him Any dimension. I think this version has the most emotional depth coming from an actor, who isn’t just playing a man on a mission but a complicated consequence of extreme trauma. Long thought but yea. I think without seeing a Polar opposite Bruce people can’t get there head around the difference between Bruce and Batman, I think it’s pretty clear, especially in his boyish vulnerability. My favorite version of the character honestly the first time I really felt he was interesting and I was really emotionally invested
I am curious how he will do with the bruce wayne part in 2. I understood why he was bruding as bruce in this one but the second movie he should be more upbeat and likable.
Great video. It'll take a lot to topple TDK trilogy for me but if it's done right, they might pull it off. I would love Phoenix's Joker to be involved but that's looking unlikely given the final scene. However, that would be a battle for the ages...

I can't agree with you on this one. Both Pattinson's Bruce Wayne and your interpretation of it flies in the face of 80+ years of comic canon. When Bruce Wayne returned to Gotham he was on a mission with his playboy alter ego--His costume--in place. Without it, when the Batman made his first appearance and the police where looking for suspects who might dress up like a bat and be a vigilante, an out and about billionaire playboy is last on the list. Pattinson's Bruce Wayne is played like a mopey, emo, recluse with few social skills, that people see less then bigfoot, who's so pale it's like he never goes out in the light of day. He'd be the on the top of any suspect list for being Batman or a goddamned vampire. In Pattinson's case the difference is what? LOL. Seriously though. You can just imagine the police going, Who do you think could be running around at night in a weird expensive looking armored batsuit, driving around in a souped up muscle car, with all kinds of high tech gadgets at his disposal, calling himself vengeance? Hmm, let me think? How about that weird rich guy Bruce Wayne? What's his motive? His parents were shot to death in crime alley right in front of him when he was a kid, so calling himself vengeance would make sense. Yeah, go bring his ass in for questioning right now. Case closed. This wouldn't even last half an episode of Law and Order: SVU. No, Pattinson is the worst Bruce wayne to date. Bar none.
I’m okay with different interpretations of the character and like she said they’re just getting started so I’ll say let’s wait and see, a lot of people said that about Tom Holland and he turned out great.

So why would he ever go outside just to kick peoples ass right? No one ever sees him for anything. He’s just the sad weird orphan in a mansion. BUT I think this is just the beginning, he’s Becoming the playboy billionaire. In this movie he’s still “young” I think if we get another one we’ll see him step up at the company and go to more events, and be less emo now that he knows he’s Batman and not just Vengeance

Bruce Wayne can exist without putting on a costume and becoming Batman, but Batman cannot exist without his "costume" which is "Bruce Wayne". Pattinson's Bruce Wayne is such a creepy fuck who sulked around like he was guilty for something, and looked like he was afraid that someone might check his hard drive to check his search history, that it's a wonder he wasn't suspected of being The Riddler. You're completely wrong. Pattinson's Batman is the most comic book accurate ever on film. As for his Bruce Wayne, he hasn't developed the playboy persona yet. It's only Year2.

He remembers all of his technical training except how to disguise his emotion …and it’s year 2.
