You seem to be answering questions. So I really want to ask, even though I think you answered. Do you have any resources that confirm P3 protects against tear gas? I've got an Israeli civilian gas mask now and I'm trying to get a CM-6M mask as well for both myself and wife in the US right now during protests. I have P3 rated filters, just want some solid data. Thanks man!
Thanks for the video. Would you recommend your 4251 or do you think the 4255 would be more effective since its A2P3 instead of A1P2? The price for both is about the same. I'm planning on getting one, just incase, but I want to make sure I have the best thing for my budget. Also, do respirators need to be replaced, or have filters that need to be replaced like gas masks do? I'm assuming, by their price, they just have to be replaced completely after heavy use but I don't know that much about it so I figured I'd ask.
Get the A2P3 model as it will filter denser gas better, these masks will need replacing for hazardous gas use after a while but for particulates they will last years
Unless you can find some on eBay I don't actually know, for example, the Forsheda F2 comes with a similar thing that would plug it, but sadly it's just a plastic disc rather than a voice diaphragm stopper.
Oxygen deprivation makes you more tired than normal but you still can run, jump, etc. if you´re healthy. In the military, some units do drills with gas masks so their body can adapt.
Thanks a lot for you video again! Now The British made Tear Gas is now out of stock for Hong Kong Riot Police, and now they are using the one made in China, which is extremely high temperature when dissolved , distributing not only tear smoke, but also Cyanide and even dioxin. Is P3 filter or any other NATO 40mm filter useful for protecting the protesters from those nasty things? Many Thanks!
If there's actual poison in vapour form you'd need CBRN style filters or industrial ABEK-P3 filters, particle filters only block big particles not chemical vapour.
I have been wondering something. Do Type 80 Filters protect against Chlorine Gas? They filter the same stuff as C2s and C2A1s. Thank you for your time.
On Wikipedia, it mentions this about filtering water, but the same logic applies to air. Active charcoal carbon filters are most effective at removing chlorine, sediment, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), taste and odor from water. They are not effective at removing minerals, salts, and dissolved inorganic compounds. So basically it says that a carbon filter, which every modern NBC/CBRN filter contains, will remove chlorine. Which makes sense as WW1 gas masks had to stop chlorine and they used carbon as a filter layer.
So any filter will work? I thought that some didn't. I have been thinking about using small amounts for pest control, and I thought that not all filters filter it, because of the codes, but I don't know what Chlorine falls into, whether it is A, B, E, or K, like with some modern GOST filters I'm looking at go by those codes. Do you know which one Chlorine falls into?
@@dvoz9023 not really mustard gas causes swelling in the throat and blindness if it gets to the eyes so the gas mask is useful and on contact with skin it only cause blisters soreness and redskin
My understanding of the ABEK system is that the ABEK numbers just mean how much they can absorb, so a A2 gives you longer protection than A1, not better protection, while the P-designation is how fine particles it filters.
It's stated in lots of manuals for filters as being "Higher concentrations" so that would equal better protection. Bigger filters tend to have a 2 rather than a 1 for ABEK type stuff.
Well, when I think about it, higher concentration/longer lasting is basically the same thing, in a higher concentration environment you'd want a filter that can absorb more junk. :)
i have a soviet gp5 gas mask replica,is it good? i'm asking because in italy there are starting to be disorders and police is using cs gas and one time it got me and i don't wanna experience it again
I dont know if you have made a video on this , but i have seen people make gas masks out of two liter bottles and i wonder if these actually work or not. thank you
Yes and no, to work properly they would need both a particulate and a charcoal layer, the other issue is that it would be hard to get a full face seal with a plastic bottle, so some tear gas would seep through the mask.
Out of the masks, I have, that aren't very cheap civilian masks, Polish MC-1 or French M-51. I'd say something like the Swedish folkgasmask is even lower quality, but it's a mass produced civilian model.
No problem, bear in mind to drink water you will need all the attachments for the mask, the mask itself just has the straw, you will need to get the connecting bottle cap and canteen.
Tear gas isn’t that effective outdoors during riots because it disperses into the air pretty quickly as opposed to being in a confined building were it will stay dormant much longer
It makes me sad, that people in other countries have to live in fear of the government gasing them, while not even being allowed to protect themselfes.

Yes it would work fine for tear gas.

I have been wondering something. Do Type 80 Filters protect against Chlorine Gas? They filter the same stuff as C2s and C2A1s. Thank you for your time.
They should do, Chlorine gas is one of the most common chemicals of war, a mainstream filter that doesn't stop it would be fairly stupid.

Chlorine is an organic vapour according to Google, so the A sections stops it, remember military NBC filters are basically ABEK-P3 filters.
Will these masks help against chemical attacks meant to kill? Such as mustard gas and others?
Yes
Mustard gas is also deadly when in contact with the skin... So your face gas mask is worthless.
