I drove both today, one after the other. I thought that the Q5 had a much quieter, more isolated luxury feel. The X3 seemed to have more engine and road noise, but felt sportier. At this stage in my life, I found the Audi more appealing.
I drove both 2022 X3 and Q5 4 cylinders and to me the Q5 wins hands down. The Quattro is superior, the ride quality is much better being very smooth on bumpy roads and the quiet cabin is great on the highway with no wind noise and the engine, and the mild hybrid feels far peppier and the seats fit me better. The X3 is sportier but the engine felt weaker, it doesn’t feel as luxurious when driving. I like the X3 updated interior and exterior very much, love the new grill and rear lights, and was strongly considering. I owned a Q5 and was eager for a change. However when comparing side by side the new Q5 had a clear edge on the points that I value. To be honest the face lifted Q5 feels almost like another car compared with my previous 2018, something that surprised me. I would however chose the X3 M40i over the SQ5. The inline 6 and the much sportier drive are superb and a must in that category.
I mostly agree with your comments but why do you think Quattro is superior to XDrive? That may have been true at one time but have you seen UA-cam videos comparing them off-road as of late, and what about BMW’s amazing launch control of their AWD models? XDrive is the real deal now.
@@davidalenick1246 each system has their strengths and weaknesses based on various reviews. I once had to drive 60 miles through snow in the southwest through Navajo land and the Q5 felt safe and reliable going at 60-65mph.

After watching the video for 9 mins 27 seconds on the subject of comparing the BMW X3 to the Audi Q5 the presenter announces that neither car is the winner but a totally different car wins ...."Now we come to the conclusion after this deep dive I can confidently declare the BMW X 5 as the clear winner here " WTF?!?!
I am very dissapointed with Q5 2.0 tdi stronic 2018, very jerky at low speed, no smooth refinement. Previous A6 was much better. Dont know about X3 but cant be worse I am sure.
The lack of active/adaptative cruise control on the BMW X3 xDrive30e is laughable and moronic. It disqualifies it as a daily, get in the city car. Sorry BMW' you lost a customer !

@@kildli I know it seems ridiculous but BMWs are driver’s cars. They don’t necessarily want all these automated driving options. But if you spring for it, it’s a pretty good system!

The bland handling days of Cadillac, Lexus, Mercedes and Audi are gone! Porsche and BMW are the ones as far as high end Performance goes!
