Location: Lamenter's Gaol (go through Charo's Hidden Grave area to reach it)
Difficulty: 2/10
Strategy: This is a very weak boss with a limited move set consisting mostly of short range melee attacks. He is small, his attacks don't reach far, and he doesn't deal much damage. The hardest path is reaching the boss, he's at the bottom level of the Lamenter's Gaol. Inside this dungeon will be 2 locked doors, each requires a key, both of which are also found inside the dungeon (the first on the path left of the first locked door, the second in a treasure chest in a room with many pots). As the fight progresses, the boss will disappear and creates copies of itself. You must attack them fast to figure out which one is the real boss. The copies will die in 1 hit. The real boss will remain if being hit, just watch the health bar at the bottom of the screen, if this goes down you know you found the real boss. Just shoot all copies quickly with spells (such as Swift Glintstone Shard) or melee them. If you don't kill him in a single round, keep repeating this as he will continue to make copies of himself, each time you need to find the real one before he disappears again.

HERE'S THE GIMMICK - If you find the real one during his clone phase and bash him for like 1/6 of his health, all the clones die and you don't get any heads stacked on you, so no insta-kill mechanic.
ALSO! - The way the heads work is whatever clones are alive by the end of the phase turn into heads around you, so either beat him up quick or kill all the clones. If you get 6 heads you die.

For those struggling. When he uses the illusion, use the Sacred Relic sword and brush them all away or any type of AOE skill/ spell

Please, for the love of God if you have wave of gold, star caller cry, or any other large AOE sweeps then please use it. Treat this like an albenaric farm.

Word of advice, use rapid hitting weapons that cause blood splatters, making the Lamenter coated red and much easier to spot among their illusions.

I assume if you don’t have a fast hitting weapon this fight would be hard but I got him 2nd attempt with a twin blade/bleed build.
Just go straight for him and not the clones when he spawns them, rinse and repeat. Use mimic tear to help kill off his clones and find the real one.
At least he gives a mask that... just stops me from wearing any armor until I die 🤨
Fun fact it turns you into something that's basically the armor 🤣 kinda obvious

If you have a strength build and don't want to respec into AOE, beat the crap out of him before he makes the clones and then look for which one is covered in blood as his clones are always clean
Did this one with some well aimed Adula Moonblades. As soon as they spawn, you target the one farthest away to ensure the spell is fired off parallel to the ground and hits as many clones as possible. Fire off 2/3 at a time because they typically won't die in 1 hit. Reposition to avoid getting stunlocked if the clones get too close. Rinse and repeat.
if you are having difficulty in finding him when he clones use moghs spear ash of war( bloodboon ritual) it will instakill all the clones in the radius of it
THE TRICK IS: When he spawns in the clones you have to kill them all or else you get a black head around you for however many you missed
Anyone know what the mask does other than transform you into a Lamenter? Like buffs or bonuses?
It trades all your Armour for a lot of resistances, a very slightly smaller hit box, and the ability to use a shielded front facing attack that does very bad damage.

Does anyone know how to even get here? I end up following the cliff to the end and never see the cave or anywhere to drop down
You don't drop down a cliff you have to go around where he put arrows on the map
it is tricky just check every single corner , use Depth first search method lol
100% would recommend the sacred coded sword… was struggling on this one and then got did it first try with the wave of gold Ashe of war
I took the AOE tips into consideration and just spammed the Rolling Sparks AOW on the Firespark Perfume Bottle without locking onto any of them. The lightning one might have been even better but this one just worked better with my specs. Managed to kill his minions that way.

Has anyone found out to get into the room across from where the floor caves in? It clearly has a purple item there.
There’s an illusory wall to access that and you need the lower gaol key.

The other phase has a timer. you need to kill the clones as fast as possible. If you fail you get the amount of still living clones as debuffs. If you got enough debuffs, you get insta killed.
just focus on finding the real lamenter and attacking him when he summons clones. Don’t worry about the clones even if they attack you, just keep attacking the real one.

From what i did, theres a dungeon called the dragons pit near the giant pillar where you have to fall down into the pit and fight a boss. Then you follow his arrows

ok no disrespect but yall suck if this is the hardest boss in the dlc ''by far'' for you... his clones literally die in 2 hits (3 max) and you can kill them all so damn easily... took me less than a minute to kill his ass and im not even good at the game

He was certainly... different. I don't even hate it, it's just that the whole thing came out of left field. Definitely didn't help that i was using an ultra-greatsword, though...
Just depends on your build. I had the milady and I just used the ghost flame caller ash of war in him and got him first try
