There are a bunch of Ember of Messmer down the road from your spot. From the Moorth Ruins site of grace, head south on the closest path there is one right away. Head south to the small encampment by the dragon that the soldiers are fighting. There are 6 in the camp, plus one on the path and the one that you showed makes 8 per run.
if you go to Rivermouth cave and go a little past it to the right you will see a pot you can shoot down. it with give you a Bell Bearing you can use to buy as much redflesh mushroon as you want
Ember of Messmer farm - Where the soldiers are fighting the ghost flame dragon south of Moorth Ruins. Obviously better if you've killed the dragon, but it's possible to ride in there, grab a bunch and ride out. FYI, once you've beaten the dragon, the soldiers do not spawn there again. Furnace Visage farm - kill the soldiers in the camp where you found the Furnace Keeper's Note. They drop them. The drop rate is low but it's better than nothing.
@PhillyBeatzGames I found out for the first Furnace Golem 7:38, you can goad it into approaching the cliff just SW of the "Pillar Path Waypoint" Site of Grace. I used a great bow with the Arrow's Reach Talisman and Shabriri's Woe to get it over to the cliff, then swapped to the Companion Jar, Fire Scorpion Charm, and Ritual Sword Talisman when I was ready to start chucking Hefty Fire Pots
14:00 You can actually kill it from here if you are fast enough. For me, it took 3 furnace pots, 1 to activate it, and another 2 to kill it. Idk if the first one damages it, but it only took 3 for me. Might be different for you, as it might’ve been a glitch.
if you really want to trivialize these things just use the spiral glintsone spell, it completely cripples them and is spammable, alternatively you can also use pest threads/spears. if youre throwing pots just use the furnace pots as they basically take 1/3 of their health.
Bro! Thanks for this post. Im running a mage this play through and went to get shard spiral and it shreds these furnace golems! It staggered twice. Fell in a spot that I couldn't get a crititcal hit but when he stood up he had next to no health. 10/10
Thanks for the video. I think it is easier to use Dragon Ancient Lightning strike to stagger it until it fells and you do a critical hit, two times and it is gone. Can be pure faith, 60 is enough.
13:25 If you do the cheese to use Torrent to jump over back wall to get Sword of Darkness you get locked out from activating Golem. I guess dropping down inside makes game think you already activated it. My pots won’t wake it up. Just FYI.
Glad to see that you can deal with these golems in an easier and more efficient way that still requires effort but is actually more fun than trying to fight these things "normally". What's more resources to make the pots aren't a problem to find. For the better pots you can get easy 3 or something furnace visages if you bring the Grandma scorpion soup(the one in the Belurat village) to the Hornsent follower of Miquela(dude with bandages on his head). He will give you several visages as thanks. To unlock the soup you need to speak with Grandma while wearing the Dancing Lion head. Do it multiple times until she gives you the soup. You can get another soup if you use it/give away from her as well. As long as she lives you can get them.
More efficient? Obviously none of the golems went ultra instant the second you pressed throw and obviously you didn’t have to learn there only x amount of furnace visages locking you out of whatever rewards the golem holds
@@Dngotem Well I waited with any ng+ for the DLC so I'm not going to face that problem but yeah, dmg scaling seems to be borked if even 8 pots is not enough. Better wait for a patch before blowing through all the pots.
For anyone running intelligence builds, Shard Spiral that you can purchase from Sorceress Sellen in the base game at the end of her quest line breaks their stance pretty easily with multiple casts.
@@Blazingsouls420I’ve never used pots but I thought after they broke, you’d get them back after resting at a grace and you’d just have to use the other ingredients to remake whatever pot you want.
Its actually possible to farm furnace visages. East of the Main shadow keep Gate there will be a dead furnace golem and Messmer soldiers.these drop furnace visages
9:20 Tip: Turn right and use Margit/Mohg's Shackle to activate Spirit Spring. It allows you to get above the Furnace Golem without having to go all the way to the top.😉
1:26 I've farmed this spot extensively and the Pyreflies DON'T reset unless you die. Tip: From the Castle Front Grace, head northwest and circle the camp counter-clockwise, walking off the edge after collecting the last Pyreflies. The loop allows you to collect 9 Pyreflies and 3 Redflesh Mushrooms before retrieving your runes and dying to reset.
There's 2 more hefty cracked pots, one is by the church on top of the entrance into the dlc and another is on the cliffs jumping down the mountain before the fire guy into cerulean coast, they are both hanging from a rope, you just have to shoot them down with a bow
The furnace visage item is actually farmable, although the drop is extremely rare. I'm the same place you get that Furnace Keeper's note, the common soldiers that spawn there can drop it. There are 6 soldiers - I usually got 1 drop every run with high discovery. I had 60+ is less than 30 min.
You can get 3 furnace visages from hornsent if you bring him a scorpion stew from the old lady in belurat, though you do have to do this before miquella's seal breaks.
I had to struggle with the first ones, especially the one at charos hidden grave site, he set the hill aflame before I could throw even one pot..than I learned to fight them, and was no longer a problem..the 2 armored I threw hefty furnace in and they died within ( maybe was 2 but not wanting to fail I threw another for an overkill).. if you struggle with it, try to excercise with the cheaper fire pots first.. when you are comfortable with the situation, use the furnace ones… the other where you slash, just take time , let him do his attacks, jump over them, repeat
What you never showed was that the fire golem at Ancient Ruins of Rauh (8:54) there is also a giant with a bow that happily ruins your day when you try to throw pots at the golem from above...and for me the golem teleports back to the original place after I have hit it with a pot.
I was able to bait the Furnace Golem from a valley ledge with arrows and when he got close enough tossed in the pots...the hard part was getting to the ledge since it accessible from one of the later areas.
There’s a farm spot for Furnace visage & ember of Messmer at the “shadow keep main gate” grace. Use life down, go to the left outside the castle, you’ll see both items every time
I'm sure someone has mentioned but there is a 2nd Hefty Cracked Pot in Belirat Gaol. Same area (pot maze) but much deeper into it and well hidden (but still on top of some pots).
If you follow the path that leads to Shadowkeep from Moore site of grace, you get a lot of embers on the sides of the road and also on your way to the nearby church, where you find the Kindred npc
spot for the Embers uhh, cant think of the grace off the top of my head but its the grace that has the 3 Black Knights around a camp and another ruin. Oh! Where you fight the first duel with the Martial Arts Master dude too! There are... 2 or 3 (again I dont remember for sure) along the road one of the Black Knights patrols
The throwing pots one are so frustrating, i finally have a build strong enough to take down the ones u can get on feet but the throwing ones are terrible to deal with
Messmer Embers also near Moorth Ruins, lying around across the gracen there is a small encampent with Black Knight riders nearby. Couple of embers around 3 or 4. Ez farm hop on torrent and spam collect, rinse and repeat.
The soldiers on the right side of the black keep front door, the ones guarding the broken golems, carries furnace visage on them. They can be farmed over and over for it. I get about 4 per round.
2nd golem at Unte ruins despawns every time I’m trying to do the horse parkour. Every. Single. Fucking. Time. I actually gave up I’m typing this at 3am I’ve been at this for 2 hours I’m done 😭😭. Anyone know a fix for this? Edit: Kept him there by summoning my mimic tear to keep him occupied so he wouldn’t despawn. Worst thing I’ve done in this game yet this took me more tries than rellana, fuck me.
For easier Embers of Mesmer, spawn at the Moorth Ruins grace. Then get onto the road and ride it north. You will find about 6 Embers just on this road if you ride till the northernmost campsite gate and back.
Right to the entrance of Shadow Keep where destroyed golems laying down and you can find Furnace Keeper's Note with info how to destroy them I found that mobs there drops Visage. At least they did it for me once. So probably worth to check it if you can farm enough Visages.
If you run out of the furnace visage go to the shadow keep main entrance. Before you head up the stairs go to the right. There are soldiers near the dead furnace that drops them. Get your silver tear mask, and silver scarf and silver pickled fowl foot ready if your arcane is low.
On the west side of the moorth ruin site of grace there is a black knight on horse riding north, let it pass and there are 3 embers of messmer that you can farm.
Not sure if it's better but I farm the messemer things outside the "shadow keep main gate" sight of grace, If the walking volcano isn't there, and if it is once you get close to the camp it starts to walk away so you don't even need to deal with it. Plus you get like 6 in one rotation
Furnace golems were a paun until i figured out a method of fighting them: borderline heavy roll armor defensive talasmans and physic and focus 95% on when the stomps are coming while mashing heavy attack. Youll get it eventually and it cant hurt you much in return! As expected i havent started on the armored ones yet lol.
@@umarthdc its... actually easier to just use the defensive physic and some talasmins. The fire stomps dont hurt much if you mistime the leap. You still want to dodge but this way you can focus on actually fighting instead of making sure you pull out torrent. The golems will die VERY quickly after so you dont have to worry about much. The double stomp is still real dangerous though.
Something u didn't mention is that u can farm Visages from the regular soldiers that spawn next to the dead furnace golem in front of the Shadow Keep so u don't have just a limited amount of Hefty Furnace Pots ... may take a while to farm alot but still better than relying on the ones placed in the world
For the ember of messmer you can farm those pretty quick from the shadowy people at the storage site of grace in the dark hold. They drop every 2nd. Or 3rd mob for me with the silver scarab equipped
Since you asked for a better farming spot, there is a small messmer soldier encampment with 6 respawning embers of messmer near the Moorth ruins site of grace! :)
For Ember of Mesmer just go to Moorth Highway South to the ruined camp where you fight the dragon, the place is empty after the fight, use Torrent, there are 4 embers there easy and quick to grab, better that one by one.
the encampment attacked by the undead dragon has a lot of embers of messmer, even though it's not as close to a grace it may be a much better location to farm them. also, the weak enemies in the specimen storehouse (the ones that can cast the fire spell at least) drop them quite often, so they might be an even better source, I don't know. P.S. the cracked hefty pots are 10, not 8.
There are two Hefty Crack Pots in the Belurat Gaol. The one in the maze, and the one in the chest (platforming section going down with many hanging pots)
Two things: I think that the location behind castle ensis is a much better location for farming messmer embers (highroads cross site of grace). I also think that streamers should always warn players about going to or in the Shadow Keep, because they may want to preserve the P1 of their summons, since going near the Keep will trigger the NPCs to change behavior/moments.
Seems like fromsoft changed the location of the hefty cracked pot in the belurat gaol. I found it in the room in a chest where you jump down using the pots.
Easiest way I found to take them out is using the spark aromatic with the rolling AoW. Stack fire defense (armor, protection spells, liver and talismans), get a +24 stone shield and put no skill on it set to fire which gives it 100% fire block. Then just run to it's feet and spam the AoW at the ground. It staggers incredibly fast (4-5 casts causes a stagger) plus deals a lot of damage. When it falls, swap to a Misericorde and hit the crit. It was dead then. No need for a second stagger. Took 1 minutes to take it down. I spent more time killing the enemies around it (the one in front of Shadow keep) than actually killing it. It's a stupid OP build and feels cheesy, so I wouldn't use it on regular bosses (I say this now, but haven't fought the last boss yet), but I hate these walking 🔥 🗑️ . They're not fun to fight regularly (the ones you toss fire pots in are fun), they take forever to bring down and some are in terrible areas surrounded by mobs. I don't feel bad at all cheesing them.
Belurat gaol has 3 hefty cracked pots You missed 2 one in the same erea shown in the video, and the other in a chest when you drop down in the pit on the hanged jars there is a legde with a chest.
The golem at the Ruins of Unte doesn't have armored legs, so you can still beat him by attacking the legs with non-pot methods, since the fire pots don't do anything to his legs.
Well I don't know if it's a better spot but you can kill the NPCs in shadow castle to get Messmer's ember from them as well. It should be any creature that uses his flame.
The first Furnace Golem can be killed from above, just shoot it with arrows from the ledge to the east - then drop pots into him - you may need to get his attention a couple of times if he returns to his area.
Amazing guide bro. Thanks for making me not suck at taking these things down in NG+7 , it takes 3furnace pits to take them down lol, wont even bother with the hefty ones :))
Redflesh Mushroom farming - Greatbridge North side of grace. Are x6 on the small plateau/hill, to left of the burnt out village. Slightly more efficient farm and simpler imo
Great video! I just just killed the last Fire Golem thanks to you! So, I killed most of them the old fashioned/bite their ankles way. This was partly because they made it clear that there were only a very limited number of items in the world to make the stronger pots. But understood the armored ones would need fire pots. I am sure I am not alone when I say the two different strengths of fire pots was a bit confusing. And yes, I understand about the Furnace Visage etc. I guess my main...um...gripe about the whole deal is: because the "throwing pot" is a new mechanic (several have to be awakened by pots while others can only be killed by pots) why do they make both the visages "scarce" and also the Black Pyreflies a limited quantity???? When I tried to craft my last batch of the non-visage pots I ran out of fireflies!!! only to discover the only ones left were at the Round Table store (after turning in Moore's Bell Bearing. But my gripe is there are only 8. I had assumed the non-visage pots used things we could farm... if we needed to. Wrong (LOL) And I believe several are needed for each pot. Luckily I squeaked by with enough to complete this, but besides being a terrible aim with these things, (and of course I did improve with each pot thrown) and crafting them while fighting is not the best idea! Ha ha. I was getting a bit...let's say peeved that the lesser pots were NOT infinitely craftable because buying Pyreflies wasn't an option past 8. My aim was def not the best, and I wasted more than a few pots. But I would have been even more stressed if I realized earlier that there is a real chance of not being able to kill all of them because - - running out of fireflies? Anyway this comment is too long! Ha ha. Just glad to cross these Wickermen off my list and your video made it easy for me to find the last couple and kill them. Thanks again.
To the west of the moorth ruins grace there is a small messmer military camp that has 4 or 5 messmers embers. Also, in my game the furnace golem at charo's hidden grave just spams the eruption attack and i cant even get close enough to kill it before i get burned alive. I can go up to the large grave stone above it on the plateau and quit out and as soon as i load back in, its already winding up an eruption. Very annoying.
seen unconfirmed stuff about farming furnace visages as a rare drop from soldiers in umbra altus, havent tried it myself but being able to actually get unlimited visages would make it... a lot easier. it's really frustrating when you run out.

@@McWarlord You're welcome, glad it helped.
Just FYI.
😢
@@Dngotem You can still use the pots that don't require visages. They simply hit for lesser damage.
@@chillax319 aye, but the dmg is not proportionate to ng+ stats, 8 is not enough 😂
I imagine this will be changed soon
@@Dngotem Well I waited with any ng+ for the DLC so I'm not going to face that problem but yeah, dmg scaling seems to be borked if even 8 pots is not enough. Better wait for a patch before blowing through all the pots.
For anyone running intelligence builds, Shard Spiral that you can purchase from Sorceress Sellen in the base game at the end of her quest line breaks their stance pretty easily with multiple casts.
You're my GOAT men, it's 100 times easier
@@Aleponceee Haha thanks! I was searching for them after I found that out. Can take them down in less than a minute!
Just wasted all.of them. Rip
@@Blazingsouls420I’ve never used pots but I thought after they broke, you’d get them back after resting at a grace and you’d just have to use the other ingredients to remake whatever pot you want.
@@Blazingsouls420 still need hefty for them cos I tried normal fire pots and its not great... lol and hefty pots apparently dont respawn in ng+ either
I always wondered this I've never used pots either. So are they reusable or no? I get having to refill em but they are reusable right?
Its actually possible to farm furnace visages. East of the Main shadow keep Gate there will be a dead furnace golem and Messmer soldiers.these drop furnace visages
@@JH-ok5lxYes the pots are reusable but the other 2 ingredients needed to craft them has to be farmed.
9:20 Tip: Turn right and use Margit/Mohg's Shackle to activate Spirit Spring. It allows you to get above the Furnace Golem without having to go all the way to the top.😉
is there anyway to activate the spring without the shackle?
@@jw81687-Yes, you have to find the stone stack and break it. It's easier to just use a shackle, though.
Thank you for putting in all the work here. Much appreciated.
The large volcanic pot also works for hunting the furnace golems, and they have a d.o.t. effect on them, downside is you need gas stones.
There's 2 more hefty cracked pots, one is by the church on top of the entrance into the dlc and another is on the cliffs jumping down the mountain before the fire guy into cerulean coast, they are both hanging from a rope, you just have to shoot them down with a bow
You're referring to bell bearings, not Hefty Cracked Pots. There are 10 in total, he missed 2 is Belurat Goal.
You can get 3 furnace visages from hornsent if you bring him a scorpion stew from the old lady in belurat, though you do have to do this before miquella's seal breaks.
wow thanks for the info!
First time I’ve of heard of this method. Thanks man!
Impressed by how easy you make it look my boy
Thanks for the vid man, big help. Also fantastic background music choice, flame core theme from sonic 06 is peak
Glad you liked it!
I can only carry two furnace jars, and cant craft more during the fight, 10:00 is goving me so much trouble
If you follow the path that leads to Shadowkeep from Moore site of grace, you get a lot of embers on the sides of the road and also on your way to the nearby church, where you find the Kindred npc
Be Careful using up all your Furnace Visage's (I think there are 40 in the whole game) as a few are needed for a secret area late on.
spot for the Embers uhh, cant think of the grace off the top of my head but its the grace that has the 3 Black Knights around a camp and another ruin. Oh! Where you fight the first duel with the Martial Arts Master dude too! There are... 2 or 3 (again I dont remember for sure) along the road one of the Black Knights patrols
The throwing pots one are so frustrating, i finally have a build strong enough to take down the ones u can get on feet but the throwing ones are terrible to deal with
Screw “best new build!!! One shot everything!” guides. This guide is amazing ❤🎉
I'm glad this helped haha. Technically this is a 3 shot with the Furnace Pots
My God, THANK YOU! that one dude for the cracked tear was absolutely impossible for me.
For easier Embers of Mesmer, spawn at the Moorth Ruins grace. Then get onto the road and ride it north. You will find about 6 Embers just on this road if you ride till the northernmost campsite gate and back.
There is also an easy to get Hefty Pot near the Prospect Village hanging off the side of the cliff, in the little valley to the north west side of it.
Right to the entrance of Shadow Keep where destroyed golems laying down and you can find Furnace Keeper's Note with info how to destroy them I found that mobs there drops Visage. At least they did it for me once. So probably worth to check it if you can farm enough Visages.
You made any furnace pots!?
If you run out of the furnace visage go to the shadow keep main entrance. Before you head up the stairs go to the right.
There are soldiers near the dead furnace that drops them. Get your silver tear mask, and silver scarf and silver pickled fowl foot ready if your arcane is low.
On the west side of the moorth ruin site of grace there is a black knight on horse riding north, let it pass and there are 3 embers of messmer that you can farm.
I just used Wing of Astel on the legs. Worked like a charm.
Not sure if it's better but I farm the messemer things outside the "shadow keep main gate" sight of grace, If the walking volcano isn't there, and if it is once you get close to the camp it starts to walk away so you don't even need to deal with it. Plus you get like 6 in one rotation
you can farm Furnace Visage, the soilders around where the note is located at will drop them
Furnace golems were a paun until i figured out a method of fighting them: borderline heavy roll armor defensive talasmans and physic and focus 95% on when the stomps are coming while mashing heavy attack.
Youll get it eventually and it cant hurt you much in return! As expected i havent started on the armored ones yet lol.
Just fight them on horseback and double jump their stomps. You'll no-hit them easily.
@umarthdc you don't even need to be on horseback it's tight but you can just jump em
@@AgentSapphire yes, but in horseback is easier
@@umarthdc its... actually easier to just use the defensive physic and some talasmins. The fire stomps dont hurt much if you mistime the leap. You still want to dodge but this way you can focus on actually fighting instead of making sure you pull out torrent. The golems will die VERY quickly after so you dont have to worry about much. The double stomp is still real dangerous though.
@@AgentSapphire thats hella overkill, if you just use torrent theyre probably the easiest enemy to dodge in the entire game
Death Poker+CrimsonWhorl tear got me through every unarmoured FG no problem.
There’s two hefty pots in belurat Gail you have e to take a lift before the boss room to a secret area
You can also wear the big pot! And the pot talisman to increase the damage
thanks for this man, can the furnace golem at 15:35 be killed by melee combat? it seems to not have armor on its feet
Yes
For Ember of Mesmer just go to Moorth Highway South to the ruined camp where you fight the dragon, the place is empty after the fight, use Torrent, there are 4 embers there easy and quick to grab, better that one by one.
This video is amazing man, Thanks!
And here I thought I had em all. That "hidden" one was in front of my face this whole time ffs 😂😂😂 Thanks
the encampment attacked by the undead dragon has a lot of embers of messmer, even though it's not as close to a grace it may be a much better location to farm them.
also, the weak enemies in the specimen storehouse (the ones that can cast the fire spell at least) drop them quite often, so they might be an even better source, I don't know.
P.S. the cracked hefty pots are 10, not 8.
There are two Hefty Crack Pots in the Belurat Gaol. The one in the maze, and the one in the chest (platforming section going down with many hanging pots)
This was super helpful, thank you!
You can tell dude's never heard some of these words said out loud before 🤣
From the Moorth ruins grace on the way to Fort of Reprimand, you can find several ember of messmer.
Finally a guide for the ruins of unte furnace golem kill
Got you bro
lol talking about fire, nice touch using the lava stage theme from sonic 06!!
Yo appreciate you for sharing this thank you!!!
@@PhillyBeatzGames you're welcome. 👍🏻
Unfortunately this doesn't work with the ones who have armour on their feet. I tried a bunch of times and their health bar never moved.
Belurat gaol has 3 hefty cracked pots
You missed 2 one in the same erea shown in the video, and the other in a chest when you drop down in the pit on the hanged jars there is a legde with a chest.
Awesome video bro thank you very much! 💯
I just used the hefty pots. But I had 8 of them. Once you get them once, they kind of stay stationary and you can just nuke them in place.
Slightly more efficient farm and simpler imo
with the ruins of unte you can summon mimic to throw the pots to save using your pots
Great video! I just just killed the last Fire Golem thanks to you!
So, I killed most of them the old fashioned/bite their ankles way.
This was partly because they made it clear that there were only a very limited number of items in the world to make the stronger pots.
But understood the armored ones would need fire pots. I am sure I am not alone
when I say the two different strengths of fire pots was a bit confusing.
Wrong (LOL)
And I believe several are needed for each pot.
Farming location for furnace visages, and an ember of mesmer: to the right of shadow keep main entrance. 5-6 bandits moderate chance to drop (they’re by a decayed furnace golem)
I suggest using a greatsword with rapors mist , it works wonders
Just a heads up, there are actually two heft cracked pots in the Belurat Gaol jar maze room.
