Yes, there is in fact another boss of the family. He' Eckley Dimeo. He'll only ever mentioned, as at this point he's serving a life sentence in federal prison. It was that arrest which led to Jackie being boss, and now Tony. With Junior only thinking he's the boss. Technically, the now Soprano Crime Family is the DiMeo/Soprano family. The full transition from Dimeo to Soprano pretty much solidifies itself throughout the 6 seasons of the series.
