Do you still use explode the code? What are your thoughts on those books? Is the teacher guide necessary?

My 3rd grader is such a workbook girl, but I love the idea of oral math too! I'm going to order the CM math to have on hand too for busy days or just for later in the day as something "fun" to do to fill the day before dinner. We usually have that space free but too hot to go outside, so I think that would be beautiful to get cozy on the couch and read that together. Thank you for sharing!

This was wonderful! Your daughter and mine sound so similar. She’s my second grader I moved to McGuffey with the Lesson Book and am planning on using SCM arithmetic book 2 with her as well. Now I’m considering throwing in Ray’s, too! I’m a second generation homeschooler as well and it is so fun and such a blessing to pass on a rich and tailored education to my children (I have a 4 year old tagging along and picking up so much!) Your videos are a blessing to my family and I just wanted to thank you. We are doing very similar things this year and it is so fun to see a like-minded mama! ❤

Last year I used CLE K1 and K2 then went straight into their 1st grade math, reading and language arts. With my next kindergartner I plan to stretch out K1 and K2 and pair it with Simply Charlotte Mason math level 1. My current 6 year has done really well with the CLE money cup in math 1 so I think the SCM math will be a great addition to prepare for CLE 1.

Yes, it would be interesting to hear about the different types of conventions. I've only ever been to a state convention.

We just signed up for Creating a Masterpiece at a convention in St. Louis! They give you a cheaper price if you sign up at a convention and grandfather you into that price! And she told us if we brought back 6 works of art nect year she would lower our rate even more! Their customer service is AMAZING and my kids absolutely LOVE it. I do, too 😂

Even though I have never met you, I feel so happy and at peace when I watch your homeschooling videos. I think we do homeschool differently based upon our children's learning styles, but I have learned so much from you and you always reinforce the idea that homeschooling an excellent idea and I can raise my child in a more relaxed God loving environment.
