- Episode 2 of rack attack. In this episode I play through my Triaxis and mesa 2:90 power amp, recreating in a way, JP's 1990's rack rig. Many more episodes to come so subscribe to hear and see more.
Hey guys, There are a few riffs and stuff I play in the video that are intentionally played wrong in order to hopefully avoid copy right. The axe fx preset used in the video had about 18% mix of 400ms of 2290 delay. A tiny bit of Medium room reverb and for the clean stuff only there was some Stereo tri chorus and some compression. Any other questions please ask.
Thanks so much!
Amazing rig, OMG
Thank man 👍
Nice setup.
Glad you think so!
Really nice setup! I have the 2:90 Mesa Power amp and it is awesome but very hard to control in my bedroom, lol. Would I have to have 2 attenuators to reduce both outputs to bedroom volume? Any recommendations for attenuating the volume? Thanks
yeah you would need two attenuators. just use it on half drive and don't push it too hard. it kind of depends on your living situation as well. I don't live too close to my neighbors so i can turn it up more with out issue. In an apartment you really couldn't use it with out some serious attenuation.
get a reactive load attenuator like a thd hot plate or bugera ps1 ,
Just bought me a 2:90 to pair with my triaxis and iicp module. My triaxis has 2 drive stages on the lead 1 and rhythm channels so should be pretty interesting. Triaxis also sounds amazing through the return on a mark III no stripe.
Cool man, The triaxis sounds great but I still prefer the actual amps. I just miss the graphic eq. The cleans of the triaxis are really good though.
@@ShredHeads I don't see how he dialed the gain in so high on these without being so flubby. I have two of them. The lead 2 red seems to change that. But through a V30 I still get to much flub with my gain higher, I usually like to set it lower or equal to the drive stage. I am using a kiesel with alder body with Steve's special in it. Maybe it's the placement of my sm57 or the cab's size 🤷
@@SHREDTILLDEAD I know there are different versions of the triaxis, some had this phat mod thing and some didn't. I would run bass at zero and use dynamic voice to get more low end. I would consider not always using the deep switch on the 2:90 because it can be a bit too much sometimes.
I'd love to know the signal chain you used... did you run the Triaxis out into the Fractal and then the power amp? Or did you run the Fractal in the FX loop of the Triaxis? etc?? please let us know...
It was likely, triaxis into axe fx into power amp to speakers picked up by mics into daw.
Hi I have a triaxis too and 2:90, also a Fm9, can you share the axe fx presets? sound really good, also what cab you use?
I was using two real cabs. One is a bogner 4x12 and the other is a mesa 4x12. The preset is nothing special just a bit of 2290 delay with a bit of medium room reverb. For the cleans I added some compression and tri stereo chorus.
Try the fryette lxii. I have one , and a 2:90 and I think the lxii is a better sounding amp, takes up only one rack space. I also have the synergy iicp module and it sounds brutal through the fryette also.
Hi, what cab you were playing this through?
stereo set up, two cabs, bogner 4x12 & mesa 4x12. V30 speakers in both.
