i love how most gnr tone demos are night train lol. sounds great!
its a cool riff. 👍
The axe fx on triaxis mode with power amp section bypassed into the 2:90 vs the actual triaxis would be a cool comparison.

I love your sound ❤

Mark IV
What is the lower end Mesa Boogie amp? I've never had that brand, so an example please?
All of the following examples are between 500-$1000 USD on the used market. DC series, studio series, triaxis pre amp, Express series, mark V 25. There are probably more but that’s an idea.
I heard they recorded tuned down to E flat then sped the tape up to bring it back to E. imposible to do live but for recording i would try that if i was chasing that tone.
I do think they did this. Probably made recording the album a little easier.
Can you get any use for this sound running an EQ pedal?
yes, eq will help a lot. Cut mid frequencies.
@@ShredHeads cool
Scooped mids Dimebag style?
DREAM AMP
No thanks
Use this as reference for my zoom g3n. Thanks.
People sleep on Paralyzed!
its a good track!
Nobody noticed that you merged Iron Maiden's album cover with The New Order by Testament 😅😅😅
It's not Testament, it's the BNW tour artwork
Sounds close, but seems a little too muddy and lacking some bass/tightness. Nice, job, though!
Mark ii master of puppets Mark iv black album
Great video was able to actually get my Mesa 50 cal+ pretty close to yours.
Nice, 👍
Can I sound like John Sykes with EMG-81 on bridge?
That’s an active pick up so it will sound different. But with good technique and quality gear, getting something similar shouldn’t be that difficult.
@@ShredHeads Thanks for the reply. Yeah I spent a few days dialing it in and got pretty good John Sykes sound with my ESP-LTD EC-1000
damn, aint nobody ever replicating, nor will nobody come close to his playing
That’s definitely the attitude you want to have when playing guitar.
Did you use the sharp channel on Bogner profiles? Do you think the sharp channel on your fish sounds closer? I'm working on building an amp and I am wondering what I should build.
I think I used the brown channel. But it was a while ago I honestly can’t 100% remember. The fish does sound a lot like the record especially the strato channel IMO.
@@ShredHeads thanks! I'll check the fish strato out first then, the schematic looks pretty similar to a modded Marshall I have.
The Mystic Studio sounds more like early AC/DC, Thin Lizzy or the Stones... imagine that for the final record, crunch city!
Just not hearing it. I want my 5 mins back.
This amp sounds even better when mixing two EL34s with the 6L6s. I brings in the mid grunt that will help it to cut through a mix.
I have this amp in that current setup. I think I actually prefer the HRG with quad 6L6. Sounds bigger more similar to Petrucci sound.
Slaving was only used for certain solos, not the rhythm tone (according to Flemming Rasmussen himself)
what exactly is the triaxis? how does it differ form the simulclass 290 and just a regular triple rec?
Triaxis is a pre amp. The 290 is a stereo power amp. A pre amp generates and shapes the guitar sound while a power amp only amplifies the sound. The triple rec is an amp with both pre amp and power amp capabilities.
Sounds really nice
👍
Mesa boogie + ESP MX220 ... god damn!!! That is the tone!
It's a fake guitar
You nailed the sound
Perfect
It looks like the studio version! Nailed it bro
I’ve managed to get close with a MXR Super Badass Distortion pedal into a Marshall Guvnor pedal then into a cranked AC30
Killer tone. Dimebag must be proud of this musical agression.
Appreciate the comment. I saw Pantera about a year ago but without Dimebag it wasn’t really the same thing.
What Messa amp were you using in this video?
Mark iic+
@@ShredHeads Thanks
Love Queensryche. My very first cd was Empire.
Nice, that’s a good record for sure.
Why aren't you uploading anymore? Really miss your videos.
Hey dude, just don’t have the time for it. I might upload some simple iPhone clips at some point. I’m busy at the moment trying to get into a different career. But I’m still active in the comment section.
@@ShredHeads Glad to hear it🤘 Yeah, I totally understand what you mean. It's difficult to keep uploading content with the lack of time.

@@ShredHeads thanks man!
Now do george lynch on the second.lynch mob album....been after that one for years!
Great video. Actually, the F chord on the intro is minor NOT major ;)
Hi, I don’t hear it as minor. Also it would NOT be a F it would be an E. Eb tuning remember.
9:51 minutes long - 30 seconds actually showing the tone itself
What would you prefer a 10 min vid of someone just playing riffs with the tone but little to no explanation. You wouldn’t learn anything from a video like that. That would be a pointless video.
To get the guitar tone correct, you need to use Wizard cabs
Another spectacular video!! The guitar isolated part is SOOO helpful!! Thank you so much for doing this! Rust in Peace and Master of Puppets, the top 2 metal albums of all time IMO.
Yep, two legendary albums.
Brother!!! WOW! What an amazing video!! Super excited to have just found your channel!! Just subbed. Great video. I am really exploring this albums tones right now to work on my own songs. I am really paying attention to bass, mids and treble, types of distortion and reverb, as well as which pick up (Bridge, Middle, Neck) they used so that I can attempt recreating the sound with my current gear (3-4 guitars , 20 or so Pedals) plus GarageBand. Just just capturing the base of what the characteristics are for each instrument and how it's mixed. Hey....that could be a video ;) LOL Anyways....Thank you so much!! YOU ROCK!! Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks for the support. Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
I got into this tone heavily a few years ago and i was able to create the distortion almost exactly by using the raw signal of the jcm 2000 into the mark iic+ to boost the distortion through vsts. They did something like that for the album by using the jcm 2000 for the preamp and mark iic+ as a power amp. Very expensive irl but worth it.
Great video. It sounds the same. Where did you buy this esp explorer replica?
what speakers are in the cab?
G12T-75
@@ShredHeads oh wow, what mics did you use in what positions? i have a G12T-75 cab and ive always wanted the mop tone
@@djungelskog.1 looks like a sm57 a bit to the right of the bottom left speaker. 🤘 I hope you get that tone!!
@@vincem6351 Thank you 🤘
2:54 Audio Sample🤘
I think james had both his mesa mk ii c+ and his marshall jcm800 modded. I heard he had the mesa slaved into a jcm800 that was modded i think for a preamp or something. I dont remember all of it.
I had a copy of that Guitar magazine on your wall bought it at the grocery store in about 1987. I threw it out about 1995😆
Crying In The Rain is some of Sykes' best work. If any of you haven't heard it, you should check it out. Great rhythmic groove to it. Cool video!👍
This is the isolated track of the álbum, not a real playing
nope, its quad tracked but previously recorded, you can look up the actual isolated track on youtube. while mine sounds very similar if you directly compare them they are still different.
