Pixel 8 Pro vs Galaxy S23 Ultra camera comparison! The Ultimate Camera Test!

- This is Pixel 8 Pro vs Galaxy S23 Ultra camera comparison! Galaxy S23 Ultra vs Pixel 8 Pro camera test! Both are top of the line smartphones from Google and Samsung and if we talk about best camera on an Android phone pixel and Galaxy will be on the top of the list even in DXOMark ranking.
I like what pixel is doing on their cameras while they are keeping all the good features from last year model. They're trying to improve on the things they're not known from the past which is the video performance. And they are just capitalizing on their software prowess by adding a lot of AI features that controls the camera app and additional editing tools.
While Samsung will try to keep pushing the boundaries off smartphone cameras, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of the few smartphones with 8K 30fps video recording, the crazy 100 time space room and undoubtedly one of the best portrait modes you will find on a smartphone. And speaking of portrait mode the portrait video on Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is pretty solid even comparing this with an iPhone or a pixel phone.
I think you can't go wrong with any of these phones but, who do you think is better?

Both look amazing . Not to bothered about brightness or exposure or saturation tbh as i can change that in editing any time i want . Great comparison btw
At last!.. Someone who grasps the fact that we can edit photos to our own taste, and that auto mode on any device is only a starting point.
One important thing is the unblur that pixel applies and samsung doesnt. If you take a photo of a moving object, most of the times in samsung appears blurry while google tends to do it better.
In video and human photos, google should lower shadows and contrast a little bit. It shouldnt be that hard and could improve a lot!
Photo Unblur!:👍
S23 color rendition is so unnatural. Its only strength is telephoto. Pixel has pleasingly natural looking pics
Agree 💯
You can turn off Samsung's Scene Optimizer, though. That evens out.
@GadgetRevNow that wont really help. Photos with scene optimiser off are washed out and too bright. In my old note 20 ultra,i preferred scene optimiser off, then colours were less saturated, but in s23U its just paled ,over exposed mess.
pixel has garbage cartoon like ai pictures samsung is also trash the iphone remains undefeated
U be on a roll I love your videos your are the truth deserve million subs. I got a54 5g was going to get s23 fe but a 150 more I will appreciate the a54. This phone should of been a54 fe. ❤
Nice! Do you have the S23 FE now. I'm still waiting for the Snapdragon variant in our region.
5x zoom ng pixel is the best. You should try to cover it in Separate video. Parang dslr lalo na pag good ang lighting 😊
Agree! Same as what iPhone 15 Pro has. Same image quality.
If Samsung would just turn the over brightening and saturation down a notch it would be fantastic!
That brightening and extra saturation works well during rainy and cloudy day (especially when you living in UK) but during sunny day, its just looks awful, over exposed and over saturated. So many years samsung is making the same mistake and can't fix it.
use pro mode
@@yubstep I have , but for general point and shoot photos I shouldn’t need to mess around getting the right exposure, saturation etc in the shot, sometimes the moment gets lost, especially photos of family, pets etc.
Have you ever heard of editing pictures to your taste on your actual device. Have you ever even opened your camera editing app?. Or simply adjusting exposure and the like on screen?. Please forgive me if my tone sounds rude as it genuinely isn't meant to.
@neilmcguinness4422 if photo is overexposed and the highlights on the sky are over done, you cant fix it by editing it.
I have the S23 U now. I ordered the 8 pixel 8 pro but I changed my mind. To be honest I wish to have them both. I always like your reviews!
Ooohh sorry to hear that, S24U is on its way, 3 months from now. Could be a better alternative.
@@GadgetRevNow Well I'm really very proud and grateful having the 23 Ultra because it's a huge upgrade from my S21 Ultra. Above all the camera and battery. Also it was € 300 cheaper when it just came out and getting a Galaxy watch LTE extra. It's more I like trying every smartphone and comparing. But with the S23 Ultra I have everything I could wish in a smartphone
I own an S23 Ultra myself and I find it a magnificent device on every level. From what I have heard recently about thermal issues on the 8Gen3 chip (on the Xiaomi 14 Pro) to be fitted in the S24 series, coupled with Samsung dropping the 10x optical zoom system on the 23U for a more cost effective 5x optical system on the 24U, I would say you have made the better choice at this point in time. Hope you enjoy your S23 Ultra as much as I enjoy using mine. Every single day. 👍
Three flaws in your tests:
* Don't use/talk about the S23 Ultra's macro mode, which is better than the Pixel's.
* Saying that the portrait mode of the S23 Ultra is 1x, 2x and 5x.
* The S23 Ultra's dirty/greasy front camera, generating worse results in photos and videos, which doesn't make sense.
NOTE: I don't miss your comparisons... I really liked it... congratulations!
About the greasy selfie, I tried it so many times, I think there's a certain angle on the sun that makes it like that. Thanks for taking time commenting bro, appreciate it. If I can explain that soft selfie on S23 Ultra next time, I will.
Great Vidio Sir🙏
Thank you! 🙏
For me s23u is better overall 😅
Can't wait to get my 24u and then compare to s22u.
Try go to camera asistant in samsung and set prioritizing into quality only. The photos are much sharper, less noise and more detail.
It is really a big jump than defult setting camera on samsung.
the problem of the s23 ultra is that there were a lot of things you can tweak with the camera that majority of users wouldn't care about and for someone who is new to samsung this features can be very overwhelming. I hope samsung will improve their camera software in the future that this features will no longer be necessary as user will just generally point and shot in the subject and get the best results possible.
There is no such option
Both are good devices. Samsung does tend to over expose a tad , colours can be a tad over vibrant ( albeit nice )
Agree 💯
I've watched a dozen reviews now, and it seems like the overwhelming consensus is that the Pixel 8 Pro hasn't improved on much of anything, even being a downgrade in some instances to the 7. Great hardware improvements and a flat screen, but the portrait mode is atrocious still (even with my 7 Pro) and that can no longer be blamed on a single lens, like Pixel's of old. I'd also say the selfie camera video on the Pixel is noticeably inferior to the Samsung's as there's less quality and it the colors look slightly unnatural. If there were points I'd give to the Pixel is that they've come a long way from heavily relying on their A.I and computational photography merits as a reason not compete with other Android hardware specifications. Moreover, the Pixel is by far the superior phone when it comes to comfort in the hand for extended periods of time due to its ergonomically friendly design with the rounded frame and elongated shape. It makes you more accepting of its shortcomings, which is why it's my primary phone and the S23U my secondary. However, I really - really - hope they can one day become the selfie king again and also fix their portrait shots because they've been in the game - and have access to data unlike most companies of its caliber - that there is no excuses for it, now.
Sir Samsung galaxy f54 unboxing phone chak
Unfortunately, you are oppressed in the media. Your channel is very wonderful. Greetings to you from Algeria
pixel 8 vs pixel 6a comparison please
My eyes hurts of the oversharpened samsung. 9 of 10 times the pixel was better in every way for me as a photographer. Hopfully google could fix pixels wierd random blur in the pictures and jidder and so on. Also pixel boosted the colours a bit to much but not that much. Older pixel where always to cool with green/blue tint.
What about iPhone's over sharpness..
If you're a phographer you would've use the 50mp or 200mp modeor raw....
@@akagetobimaru1994 They still ad a ton of sharpness sadly. Iphone to wich is a shame.
@@yamahaevo the 50mp is the best one for me....
It reduce the oversharpening....
Pixel is good but sometimes it looks overprocessed
@patilrahulr11 It has but its lower. Iphone 14 had more sharpening but they lowered it with the 15 thankfully when others highers it even more. Problem is you can't editing it away the picture is ruined with to much.
Let me know if you are able to watch videos at the TV and I will send you a UA-cam link so you could se a comparison one phone having yo much sharpening.
Omg it’s snowing where you are at
Yeah, hate it actually lol
@@GadgetRevNow oh ok and also I love your tech reviews
Portrait mode on the Pixel 8 pro is terrible so is the cinematic blur it's just terrible and the cinematic mode on the pixel only goes up to 1080p very subpar. Also the macro mode on the pixel compared to the Samsung was inaccurate in your test. The macro mode you didn't even mention that the Samsung had one.
Big fan sir love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 ❤️
thanks! 🫡❤️
price? Samsung s23 Ultra
was beautiful❤
It is ❤️
I pick the s23 ultra just for the overall package. Only thing I like the pixel for is the still pictures and the voice to text.
Agree 💯
You clearly never had a pixel then. There's way more to it than just the photos. 👍🙏
@@TronTonics please don't tell what I have and don't have. Been using the pixel since pixel 2. I know what both brands bring to the table.
What would be your advice. Pixel 8 or s23 Ultra
S23 Ultra is a really good flagship phone with SD 8 Gen 2.
Not bad
So I am thinking the S24 Ultra may be a serious mobile !
That's a solid contender!

S 23 ultra ❤️ 💯 👌 🙌 ✨️
Samsung
The Pixel 8 Pro must drop more in price to compensate for not purchasing the S23U, which does a better job in most cases with the exception of photos of flowers or forests whose processing is quite aggressive. However, the Samsung offers more features and therefore I currently consider the Pixel to be too expensive.
Pixel actually has the worst flaring on a phone today. Try to record a video in a city with lots of lights and you will se s23 don't hav all the green balls all over the picture.
I love google pixel ❤
S23 ultra smacked 8pro
S23 Ultra ☝👑👑👑
❤❤
Thanks!
Konti na lang talaga Then Google would be a real threat for both apple and Samsung especially Sa camera department. 9pro malamang makuha na nila proper combinations
Yep, almost! 👍
Pixel 8 pro
Best value! 🔥
Pixel is still nowhere near Samsung.
and samsung is nowhere near the iphone
@@Lazy943 keep dreaming 🤭🤭
@@johnsecret1318 pure facts deal with it buddy don't be mad the mighty iphone remains supreme

@mackdub-ju9ly thank you for your joke 🤣🤣
Pixel 8 pro is the King 👑👑👑👑
Great value camera phone!
The Pixel's selfie and portrait mode are atrocious 🤢, and exaggerated saturation and contrast in video 🤦🏽♂️
I much prefer the S23, at least with it, I know that just by turning off the scene optimizer and choosing the natural tone for photos and screen, I can greatly reduce the saturation in photos, at worst 2 seconds of editing and that's it.
Agree bro 💯
Oversaturation king is Samsung
Pixel 8 pro king
Samsung is samsung...
💪💪💪
yes trash the iphone se 2020 takes better pics 🤣
I love Google Pixel.
Great camera phone!
pixel is absolute utter trash
In day time, i like the natural rendition of the pixel images.. but when the night comes, no contest, really. Samsung is much more capable to produce a better picture with well-controlled highlights.
Zoom? No contest. Samsung can zoom further.
As an overall package? If u consider all around.. Samsung going to win, no doubt.
Thats why i buy samsung this year vs the pixel.. i used to own plenty pixel phones in the past like 3xl, 4xl, 5, 6 pro but this year i go with s23 ultra after the Pixel 8 pro didnt impressed me
S23 has the worst camera in history. Why? When shooting anything with much texture it's look absolutely disgusting.
Utter rubbish. Please forgive my rudeness, but if you have ever used an S23 Ultra, and used it well, you would realise that your comment is so untrue that is actually laughable. Even (the even more laughable) Dxo Mark admitted it scored well in this area.
both are trash the iphone smokes them
Good joke
Always king of s23 ultra 🔥🔥🔥
Pixel has far better camera overall. Pixel is the android king.
The Pixel 8 Pro takes prettier photos (but not videos) 'out of the box' with both devices in in auto mode, but the S23 Ultra has Pro Raw and Pro Video modes than will deliver superior results in the hands of any skilled photographer.
@@neilmcguinness4422pixel 8 pro also has 50mp raw images and pro mode for photos now
The only good thing about Pixel is camera .S23 U is the better overal device
