- This is Pixel 7 Pro vs Pixel 8 Pro camera test! Is it worth upgrading to Pixel 8 Pro or still still stick to Pixel 7 Pro! Pixel 7 Pro vs Pixel 8 Pro camera comparison!
Hi everyone, this is JD, your gadget review friend! Looking quickly at the specification, the hardware on Pixel 8 Pro it's better than last year- it is evident on the aperture and the resolution.
Starting with last year's Google Pixel 7 Pro, it has 50 megapixel Main sensor with f1.9 aperture, it has multi-directional phase detection autofocus, laser autofocus and OIS, and followed by a 48 megapixel Telephoto with 5X optical zoom still with multi directional PDAF and OIS. And you have the regular 12 megapixel Ultrawide with autofocus. The selfie camera has bigger 10.8 megapixel sensor, that is 0.3 megapixel bigger than Pixel 8 Pro. All sensors can shoot at 4K at 60 FPS.
While the name of the game for this year's Pixel 8 Pro is bigger numbers on the rear camera it has the 50 megapixel shooter with the larger f 1.7 aperture, same multi-directional phase detection autofocus, multi-zone laser autofocus and OIS. It is the same 48 megapixel Telephoto with larger f2.8 aperture and now it has the faster dual pixel PDAF, OIS and can reach 5X optical zoom as well! The ultrawide sensor has a larger 48 megapixel resolution with the larger f2.0 aperture and also has PDAF and OIS. The front camera has a smaller 10.5 megapixel sensor but it has an autofocus , PDAF, and like the last year's Pixel 7 Pro- all sensors can shoot at the 4K at 60fps.
This year's Pixel 8 Pro has unlocked Pro features and you can manually dial the camera settings if you like to, it can also shoot the RAW 50 megapixel resolution. But, in auto mode, the 12 megapixel jpeg, both look similar with that HDR look. I think you would be happy owning any of these two phones!

7 Pro is much cheaper now. To be honestly, I see no different.
Battery life and heating issues improved over the pixel 7 series

7 pro heats up after about an hour sometimes less of gaming I have to put it down to cool.

@@seunyheats up a bit but nothing to major, but to be fair a pixel phones is not really made for gaming there are much better phones for that, their software/cost/ cameras that make the phone, google never brag about pixel performance
As a 7 pro user I can confirm there is little to no difference. Love my p7p❤ Portrait mode needs a fix as edge detection some timee turns out poor. I dont game on mobile so Im ok with performance. It does heat when using VPN but on normal conditions I dont feel any heat. Battery backup is great. Everything about this phone is just wow ❤. Your video was amazing too. You got a sub from me 🎉
Is the Google Photo app does a better job to separate the subject from the background than the Pixel's app ? It would be worth to shoot in normal mode then apply a blur.

I'm about to jump into the Pixel craze. At this point, do you think the 7 Pro is a solid purchase? Or should I go straight to 8Pro? I;m primarily an iOS user but am looking for an Android phone as a secondary one.
I'd wait until the Pixel 9 release date in November nears at which time Pixel 8 prices will drop. Alternatively wait for the next Amazon Prime day in July.

The selfie photos are night and day better on the 8 4:10

Pixel 7 pro video sound is very loud compared to Samsung video sound i throw some firecrackers and in pixel 7 pro it sounded loud and strong like in real life but Samsung video sound it was terrible do you guys know any other phone with loud video sound so i can record my firecrackers?

I'm all about being fair, but most of the pics look better on the 7 Pro. It's interesting you say the 8 Pro. At 4:44, right when you were saying the Pixel 8 Pro looks better is a total fail. I'm not calling you a liar, but I will say you may want to visit your optometrist.
I took almost 1200 photos and compared them. Have you ever thought I added that photo specifically to show that Pixel 7 Pro is still a great phone? Talking about being fair. Both are great phones.
My reviews are general, although I flash photos and videos, I don't scrutinize a single photo and based my conclusion there. Feels like what you did here.
