I walked the Wall during a short visit to DC from the UK on 9/11 2003. It wasn't my war but it is my generation - it was a very emotional and humbling experience.
For 30+ years now, every time I listen to this song - and it has been many - each feels more powerful and emotional than the last. Thank you, Jimmy Fortune, for this wonderful song!

I've seen that Wall. When the smaller replica was traveling through our town I took my boys to see it. I wasn't prepared for how it would affect me. It was a very sobering experience; for I have a cousin from Arkansas, an 18 yr old Marine whose name is on that Wall. God bless you Benjamin Parker.

I remember this song being about Vietnam. My dad was a Vietnam vet as well and visited the wall with him and sound fellow Soldiers when I was a kid. Anyway, whew... haven’t heard this song in years. 😪😢 powerful indeed.
